We stopped by Bit of Grub after work for happy hour, and it did not disappoint! I love that they offer a different happy hour special every weekday, it gives you a great reason to come back and try something new. We enjoyed the house wine, an Old Fashioned, and the fried mushrooms, and everything was delicious. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long day without spending a fortune. I saw multiple review influencer videos before arriving, and here are my honest thoughts. We went in and was greeted with a positive attitude. Awesome. Turns out it was an hour wait (est). Cool, we wait, must be an excellent restaurant. 45 min, we get called in and we get seated. We noticed, there are plenty of open tables and booths so it confused us why we waited a while for a table. We got our drinks, we ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken, Bologenese and we had the BDE queso dip. Queso Dip was really good, I was not a fan of the chicken fried thing, it wasnt good to me, took it apart and it was breaded way more than the actual protein, it felt very fattening to me. My lady enjoyed the Bologenese no complaints. Then, we wanted to get the famous order of the Banana Pudding... we waited about 15 min until the server sat a sample size in front of us. We tried it, and we did not like it one bit. It was like filled with condensed milk, no banana and no actual pudding consistency, just... milky with whipcream. Waited another 15 min for a server to loop around for our check. Food was OK, service was really slow. We are very patient and understanding people. If someone told us they were short staffed or something, we would have been ok. We didnt have a pleasant experience, we waited for a long time for everything. We loved this place! The menu is varied, and both my ADHD nachos and my husband's chicken fried steak were terrific. Lots of different flavors and textures in each dish. There were many other items I was interested to try out, and the descriptions were thorough and well-written. Service was attentive and anticipatory - both of our sodas were refilled proactively, so we had plenty of cold drinks the entire time. What a beautiful day to try a new place for lunch! I am so happy with this place. As my friend and I arrived , the parking was good. As we entered, the place was bumping! Music playing and the atmosphere was alive and friendly. The hostess was very nice and energetic. The waitress came right over to greet us. It took a while to look over the menu. There was a lot of interesting dishes on the menu. So I order the Strawberry lemonade and water. It was cool, (a Lil too sweet). So we were ready to order our food. I got the Chicken Pot pie and a salad. My friend ordered the chicken tenders with the pinto beans and mashed potatoes. I also tried the Firecrackers which was tasty!! The food was simply delicious ! Everything was freshly cooked and hot off the grill. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I will return again to try some more of the really great food choices. Soccer fan or not, it would be difficult not to get caught up in the excitement of it all! My server was fantastic. So pleased with this new restaurant!!! Bit of Grub had a cool/relaxed atmosphere, the service was fantastic (thanks Rachel) the place was clean and most importantly the food was GREAT! Angela the owner has basically built a "from scratch" menu of her own recipes on top of being super hands on, coming in with the service assists and making sure every table was satisfied. Yesterday for lunch we went to Bit of Grub which is where Casa Mama used to be. It's off of Preston and GB. The owners were really nice and the place is cool. They have a ton of funny things hanging up and the new big bar is a great edition. The food was really good!
