My best friend and I stopped by Maple Bacon while we were in Plano because we wanted to try something new. We found the restaurant on Yelp, and the vibe felt like a family-style diner not too small and very welcoming. The menu is huge and honestly a little overwhelming (in a good way). It reminded me of the Cheesecake Factory because there are so many options that it's hard to decide, especially when you come in hungry like we did. Everything on the menu and in the photos looks really good. That said, the food itself was just okay. It wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't a "wow, I have to come back" kind of experience especially not worth a 45+ minute drive just to eat there. The service, however, was very good. Our server was attentive, explained the menu well, and gave recommendations, even though she was new. The restaurant was also very clean, and we were seated immediately with no wait. If I lived closer, I'd definitely go back again. But since I live so far away, I don't see myself making a special trip just to eat here. read more

First visit to Maple Bacon on a Saturday morning, no wait, which was a nice surprise. Service was friendly and fast, which we appreciated. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and while the breading was solid and crispy, the steak itself lacked flavor. There needs to be more going on than just the batter, seasoning, tenderness, something to bring it together. The potatoes on the side were pretty meh too, definitely not memorable. They were just thick and not crispy. And even though there was a ton of seasoning, there wasn't a ton of flavor. Prices were fair for the portion sizes, so there's value there, but overall, it felt pretty middle of the road. They seem to think they're a standout spot, but the experience didn't quite back that up. Came with my wife and we both left feeling like it was just okay. Not bad, not great, just... fine. Service has zero concept of customers needs. And I'm low maintenance. No WiFi at all in a dead AT&T zone. When I have breakfast I may have a work email/call/text or two and I need service. The menu is amazing but very overpriced for what you get. I sit here with everything I ordered wrong, no coffee refill, no creamer refill. The runniest poached eggs you've ever seen when I orders them med and not once has my server came back and asked if everything was good. Btw - hardly anyone in here. Waitress is more worried about her phone and talking w the other workers. Breakfast for 1 person - $30 bucks without tip. I had such a great experience at Maple Leaf Diner! The food was really good and the service was impressively fast -- we sat down and had our drinks and food within 30 minutes. The vibe of the place is really nice, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. Their portion sizes were huge! Most brunch restaurants are very packed with long lines but there was no wait at this location. We went around 11AM on a Saturday morning. This restaurant is very convenient if you want breakfast and most of their menu are diner foods. They had tables and the service was quick. They didn't too mayn decors to contribute to the ambiance. We ordered the Southern Fried Chicken & Sausage Waffles and shared it between two people because of the portion sizes. I got the garden benedict with house made fries. The fries were delicious. My partner got eggs, bacon and toast with a side of hash browns. The hash browns were not crispy, and the toast was bland. At least the bacon was still yummy. The prices are expensive. It seems some dishes taste way better than others. Fast service. We came here to try this place. We had a very high expectation. First, I will point out the positives. There are so many breakfast items and also have lunch menus. Drink menu is very extensive. We had strawberry lemonade and it was delicious. They have cocktail menu for those who drink alcoholic drinks. Inside the restaurant is very nice and spacious. Now the negative part, I ordered Migas Fiesta. I'm not a trained chef, but I've eaten enough Migas to know that what Migas supposed to look. This Migas looked more like Migas Nachos with eggs and I'm not a fan of Nachos. The eggs and jalapenos were good and so was the salsa. Avocado was green and not ripe and potatoes were unappetizing. Where were my warm tortillas???? You don't put mozzarella cheese on Mexican food! PB's lox should had been open faced with equal amount of lox and cream cheese and bagel should be toasted. There should had been more pickle spears! Clam chowder should had been filled more, not 70% and cheddar cheese should not had been on the soup and also, oyster crackers and not saltine crackers. Also, we asked our server Maylen 2 times if we could have more strawberry lemonade to go and she didn't deliver, so we left after we paid. I left her $10 tip, but I should had left her 10%, bc I didn't think she did a good job serving us. I'm a generous tipper when servers are friendly, attentive and do a great job serving us, but if they're not, they get 10%. I also must mention that it's very expensive for the amount of food we got. We regret coming here, bc we usually go to Pancake House or Cindi's and we get great food and service. We won't be coming back here. I think it was the worst experience! read more

2024 Yelp 100 Challenge - #32 Service was great. Food was bland. The menu is a bit overbearing with many options to choose from. I saw photos of the mountain sunrise and was excited to give it a try. Ordered Sunrise Mountain French Toast - It comes with french toast strawberries, whipped cream, chicken tenders, bacon, and a donut that is not made in house. To me the strawberries made the french toast to mushy and the chicken tenders were bland. I only ate a few bites out of my food because it just wasn't the best. read more

This was my first time visiting Maple Bacon! It had a lot of good ratings so I decided to check it out. Ambiance: There is a jam packed environment here. Theres lots of people and lots of movement. There is medium lighting and a lot of different seating options. We got to seat quickly as we chose to sit at the bar. Service: The service was terrible. They were not friendly nor accommodating. They hardly checked up on us and we had to call the server over every time we needed something. Wheelhouse: This dish came with everything. Bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, your choice of bread. The only good thing about this dish was the sausage. The eggs are flavorless. The bacon was small and not great. The pancakes were just not good at all. I ate there today. This restaurant has really changed since opening. Service has always been OK, but the food quality has really gone down hill while pricing has sky rocketed. I was actually served pancakes that were not cooked completely and the coffee was far from fresh. What realty irks me as that the last 3 times I have eaten there I was unable to wash my hands because an employee was locked in the men's restroom and people were waiting. The employee did not come out for over 40 minutes today and I had knocked twice 15 minutes apart each time. I have decided to never eat there again. There are way too many good restaurants out there to keep giving Maple bacon a chance. read more

I was excited to try this place and had high hopes. While good food is important service is the most important. When I arrived we were seated quickly and given drinks. The server advised he would be back shortly to take our food order. A good while passed at least over 10 minutes before he finally came back and took our order. The food took an unusually long time to come out and they were not that bad busy due to it being near closing time when I came in. The food was decent but not worthy of the almost hour wait. Once we finished eating I waited and I waited but our server never came back. I saw him at the bar several times making drinks and taking orders. I gave him the signal we needed assistance twice and he definitely saw me. However he never came over. Finally after growing frustrated with waiting. I walked to the bar and my friend I was dining with walked up also with his plate in hand cause he wanted a box. I advised the server we have been waiting on our ticket to pay for almost 30 minutes and we felt ignored. He advised he had been really busy and they are short on staff. While this definitely seemed to be the case cause he was definitely doing a lot of running around that's no excuse for ignoring a customer. While he seemed like he could have possibly been some type of manager, there was no apology or offer to do anything to make it right. While I was not looking for anything that let me know my business doesn't matter. Therefore I will never be back. I hope no future customer has the experience I had. read more
