After seeing primarily good reviews with negatives that seemed to be odd nights, we took the chance. We were impressed with the vibe and our meals. We ordered the smoked guacamole as our appetizer, elote as our shared side, my husband had the birria tacos and you'll see my delicious plate pictured. We ended up taking home one taco, some guacamole, half the corn, as well as about half of my plate. I ate a delicious leftover plate the next evening. I would order my plate again and would love to come for salsa dancing. We live fairly close, so I already have plans to take a friend when she's in town in a few weeks. Our server was friendly and the team that brought out the plates were as well. The only downside was that we didn't see our server until we were done with our meals and ready for takeout containers. If we had needed refills or condiments, that would have been frustrating. read more

I could not taste the flavor of the steak as it was not seasoned and it was there more for texture. The Pastor tacos were flavorful and tasty. I wish they had done something more with the tortillas as they were not great. The chicken entrée was fantastic! It was very flavorful and cooked well. The brussels sprouts were extremely oily and there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. We went on a Monday for mariachi and that was very entertaining and wonderful! I've been here many times. Love the food and service. The chicharrones, tortilla chips and salsa that come out immediately are really good, as is the guacamole. Pollo a las Brasas is delicious- it's a big meal, always plenty to bring home. There is a Burrito version of pollo a las brasas as well. It's huge, and just as good. Both include sweet plantains. This upscale tex mex restaurant is great for casual or even a special event. The interior was so pretty and their covered patio was spacious enough for our baby stroller. Our waitress was very accommodating and offered water and plasticware for our little one. The quesa birria tacos was the star of our meal. It was absolutely delicious with full of fresh meat. Went again today with a different girlfriend for lunch.....once again Manuel treated us like queens! The food and service were fantastic! My girlfriend already asking when we can come back. Mexican Bar has a fun vibe. I frequented it a lot when it first opened and returned again for lunch the other day. The menu has changed a little and now beans and rice come with the street tacos. Definitely a nice addition, tasty and also better value. I had the carnitas with chili de arbol slaw. The slaw really enhanced the carnitas. It had a nice smoky and nutty taste which combined with the chopped peanuts on top made it so good. By the way, I don't love nuts, but this was good! The shrimp tacos were described as fresh and vibrant. Go with the black beans over the refried. I also love that my granddog could sit at the last table in the outside area. (See pic). If you want upscale Mexican food and amazing cocktails, look no further! MBC has it all, with live mariachi music on Monday nights. I had the pork chop this time, covered in a spicy slaw with a purée of carrots and sweet potatoes dotted with pomegranate seeds. The perfectly spiced pork was a nice match for the purée, with a little bit of tart sweetness from the pomegranates, and the slaw added just a little more heat and crunchiness. So wonderful, and Monica was an amazing server! It's a little pricey, but 100% worth it! Oh, and they have salsa dancing lessons and dancing on Saturday nights for the late night crowd! Came here for a last mine dinner outing on a Wednesday and they were not busy at all. I was told that they have dancing later in the night or on certain days. We got our food pretty quick. Ambiance is great - can sit inside or on patio. Kind of at a mall, but still scenic views to look at from the patio. It's open air concept, so I'd be interested to see how they manage the heat. In the Spring it was lovely. Ample parking as it's basically at the mall. Google Maps didn't take us to the side we ended up parking at, as we found closer spots by passing through the courtyard. Decor was cute and Mexican. There was a DJ for brunch on the weekend but he wasn't working bc there weren't a lot of patrons. Sad it was so dead, I always wish all businesses could be busy and thriving. DJ seemed to want to walk around and talk to friends more than DJ. I think he had a playlist and set and forgot it. I was a bit disappointed by the margarita selection as there wasn't a wide variety like I thought from the magazine article. I had a very fun night recently at Mexican Bar Company. Went on a Saturday with a group of friends and the goal was to hopefully party like we used to in South America. It's hard to find a place that has the right combination of music, ambiance, and service. Mexican Bar Company nails it completely! The music was amazing! We loved the DJ selection and were super impressed by the live music, the signer is an incredible vocalist. What we did not expect was to also have delicious food and beautifully crafted cocktails. Visited here as a party of 9 with a reservation. Had no problem sitting down. But the service was horrible. Our waiter rarely visited our table. We had to flag someone down to get refills and to have our check brought to us. The menu is VERY limited. It is not a place to come hungry at all. I did enjoy the cafe con leche as it was very cold in the restaurant. Drinks were overpriced and mediocre. We did not stay past 9p so I cannot speak on the dance and music vibes. Not sure that I will be back to experience. With plenty of other places nearby with music and food, this place needs to make some changes. We stopped by this spot for happy hour. It reminded me of college with "beat the clock" ever hour the menu prices go up for happy hour from 3 to 6. But only on the high tops and bar area. When you sit down you get chips, chicharrones (pork rinds), and two salsas that were both delicious. The Milagro Pinadito Margarita was amazing and tasted like we were on vacation. We also got the barbacoa and carnitas tacos. I preferred the carnitas over the barbacoa. But the carnitas did have peanuts or something that was a bit odd. The vibe was good and staff was friendly. I went here with some friends one Saturday for a late lunch. The place is attached to the mall and right next to Knife. The ambiance is great, nice artwork and design inside. We were seated inside but right next to their "patio" area which they have a retractable covering for and opened while we were there. Since it was a surprisingly pleasant day temp wise this was very cool. I got to try their Traditional Guac and Queso Dip Tasting $14.50 even though I did not order this. Both were fine, I liked the queso's creaminess and the guac was okay, a little bland though. I did get a Small Margarita Pitcher $29.50 which was actually pretty good as it was more like a skinny, with less mix which I really enjoyed. The pitcher spout is to short and narrow though which made it impossible to pour without spilling so be careful when doing this. We put one of the appetizer plates under it to not make a mess. I also tried their Bloody Mary $10.50 which had great flavor but was way too spicy for me. I only drank 1/3 of it and couldn't finish it. I also tried their Pinadito Cocktail $13.50 which was like a pineapple marg, this was too sweet for me and I would stick to the regular ones. For my meal I got the Barbacoa Street Tacos $17.50 that comes with 3. Since they do not let you mix and match, I traded a friend for one of his Camaron Street Tacos. The Barbacoa tacos were super juicy and liquid came out of the back when bitten into. The meat itself was kind of dry/tough which is weird with how much liquid there was in it. They are street tacos so pretty small, maybe 2-3 bites and gone. I did really like the flavor of the Camaron Taco though but noticeably skimpy on the shrimp. It came with rice and beans, I chose refried but they have black beans as well. The beans were fine, the rice looks super bland but was actually tasty. I did get to try some of the Al Pastor Quesadilla but would skip that, they put beans it which was all I tasted and not a fan of at all. The service was pretty great all throughout with refills and check ins until we were trying to get checks. The place has a pretty elaborate lighting setup so it must transform into a dancing place at night. The food was okay overall, kind of expensive for what you get. Ok, so I am very torn writing this review because I heard so much rave about this place, especially from my daughter and her husband and he never likes places like this, but he liked this one, so in my head I am trying to figure out why. We went on a Saturday during their brunch hours and there were tons of things that we wanted to try, but we had to narrow it down because of the amount of food it would have been if we had gotten all of those things. To make a long story short, we ordered the lobster tostaditas, the tacos al pastor with rice and refried beans and a side of guacamole. The lobster tostaditas, were decent but they were on a tostada that was way too small. Let's just say it could have went on a slightly bigger tostada because how it came, the tostada was just a little bigger than a single bite and too small to break it in half. It's hard to explain, but I am sure y'all get it. The tacos al pastor were on point. You can't go wrong with those. The rice and beans were "meh," super plain. The guacamole was just a smashed avocado that needed seasoning, onions, jalapenos, cilantro, tomatoes and lime juice. So yeah, there ya go. The service was great though. We had our 50th wedding anniversary at MBC this past weekend and it was fabulous! The food was delicious even our 2 yr granddaughter loved the chicharrones and the chicken in a wonderful sauce. I'm Hispanic and grew up on this kind of food and it was good! Ivan Sanchez, manager/ event coordinator was so attentive and set the room up exactly the way I wanted. Tables were colorfully set. The wait staff was efficient and unobtrusive. We had an open bar and drinks were good. Several guests commented on the margaritas being, "best" that they had tasted. The location was a little hard to find as it is part of the dining area attached to a mall but not in the food court section. They have a lot of specials going on so if there is a particular your looking for check out the website. My beans were another hit for me, creamy and refried but not oily at all. My first cocktail was the house margarita and let me say one is enough, there was so much tequila I had to compliment the bartender but also sip very slowly! My partner choose the street tacos which were very yummy. I'm a little critical of beans and rice at any Mexican restaurant so I was very surprised that the beans provided were charro beans at first glance they looked like black beans. The rice on the other hand had sweet carrots, very unfamiliar but not entirely bad. my second cocktail was the bloody mary, which was not over-spiced and appreciated after the margarita.
