Jimmy has a really wonderful restaurant! My husband and I couldn't believe that food this good was right in our neighborhood and we didn't have to go to downtown! Our waiter was amazing and took care of us! Made us feel comfortable and just went above and beyond even giving us a free dessert since we are new in the neighborhood. This is a lovely place with a lovely staff. She made our night as well. The owner and staff are really nice and make you feel part of the community. Definitely stop by!! read more

What a lovely dinner we had here at Harissa. Had seen it on social media thought it was new, but turns out it's been open for several months now. Tried it for my dad's bday/Father's Day dinner and we all were impressed. The ambience is nice and spacious and is good for a group or date night. Our server Oscar was amazing! He answered all of our questions about the menu and food options, was very attentive throughout the evening and just made it an enjoyable experience. For drinks, I just had some wine but my mom had the Spicy Moroccan cocktail which she really enjoyed. It was just the right amount of sweet and spicy balance. For food, we weren't super hungry and also wanted to share a few different things, so we ordered the Harissa Trip which came with 3 different kabobs, and the Stonefire Saji chicken. It was actually quite good portions of food if you're not a big eater, definitely was enough to share and take some home. They gave this amazing pita bread to start with a garlic butter that is SO good. It was so smooth and delicious, don't know how to describe it. We loved it. The meat was tender and flavorful. I will say that the chicken Saji was a bit dry in our opinion, so it wasn't the favorite of the dishes, although the sauce on it was nice the chicken was just dried out. The owner was so sweet she came over and told us a bit about her and her husband's story of the restaurant and also brought us some Turkish tea and baklava on the house. We just had the most pleasant evening and I will definitely keep them in mind for future dinners. Definitely worth checking them out if you like Mediterranean food. read more

We came here for my niece's birthday and overall it was a good experience but there were a few incidents that take this place out of a four or even five star rating. When I arrived I was impressed. The ambiance is very nice and has all the looks and thrills of a 5-star kind of place. The food was pretty tasty as well, bordering on the 4+ to 5-star zone. What lacked was the service. For example, they completely forgot my nephew's entree. There was not even an acknowledgment that they had forgotten it and then when we called the server back to the table he acted "surprised" we had not gotten it and yet still did not apologize. When we finally got his food, once again, no apology. When we got the check, no apology either. Our water glasses ran on the empty side most of the meal as well, in fact at one point one of our party got up to get the pitcher herself and at that point another waiter jumped in and started refilling our glasses until our waiter saw it and came back and took over the task for the waiter who was covering. Other than that, the food was delicious and I have to say would get it again, I would just ask for another server or take it to go. read more

The restaurant was decorated beautifully from the furnishings to the tableware. Everyone, including the owner, made this a personable experience by checking up on us and ensuring we enjoyed our food. My favorite part of the meal was the naan, which was brought out fresh and extremely fluffy. I ordered the Beef Shish Kabob (flame-grilled beef kabobs, marinated, served with vermicelli rice topped with slivered almonds, alongside charred seasonal vegetables). I liked it but thought it could used more enhancing flavors. We got to try the baklava, which is very sweet and would be a good option for those with a sweet tooth. read more

Not enough lighting to where we were siting especially with a large party size. The food was very expensive. We got two appetizers and three platters and didn't realize how expensive it would be nor did the waiter tell us about it. Which was a bit disappointing. From the appetizers selection( the peach with halloumi was amazing and so was their Greek salad before the cyclospora hit. I would just go back for these two things. read more

I took my wife here on a date twice. I really like the flavors of the food. The first time the food tasted a lot fresher than the second time. There are olives are good. The olive oil that they use taste really nice. Their bread taste good. And it's nice for a casual date. I feel like it was romantic. My wife said well she's not sure if she wants to come back but maybe we will for lunch instead of dinner. The ambience is full and the people who go there sing to really enjoy. read more

We made reservations for Easter lunch and tried this place out. FOOD: I ordered the lamb chop entree with rice and grilled vegetables. $42 for 3 chops, pounded, but cooked to medium rare and the flavor was good, but not great. IMO, this was overpriced. ATMOSPHERE: The space is tastefully done, mainly catering to an upscale or date night vibe. I would not bring all my grandchildren here though. SERVICE: Our server was attentive; however, never told us his name (my pet peeve) and I hate flagging wait staff with a wave or saying hey you! TIP: It looks like they had a good bar selection, which I think is appealing. Not too many dessert options. read more

I was with a coworker who prefers healthier options, so we were looking for Mediterranean or a good salad spot. I found this place nearby with strong Yelp reviews and great-looking photos, so we decided to try it for lunch. I expected a casual, fast-style Mediterranean grill, but it turned out to be a more upscale restaurant in a strip mall. The space was really beautiful décor, greenery, and a nice atmosphere. We were seated and given both lunch and dinner menus since it was around 2 PM. I started with an iced tea that had a subtle fruity flavor--really refreshing. We ordered hummus, which came with a fresh, house-made garlic pita. The garlic wasn't overpowering, just a light hint, and it paired perfectly with the hummus. The hummus itself was smooth, creamy, and generously portioned. We originally wanted kebabs, but the lunch menu was mostly sandwiches. Since we weren't in the mood for that, we ordered kebabs from the dinner menu. I chose one of the chicken options (there was also a more lemon-forward version). When the food came out, it was honestly some of the most beautifully plated food I've seen--very intentional and almost magazine-worthy. Everything tasted just as good as it looked. The rice was perfectly cooked with a light seasoning and topped with nuts. The chicken kebab was flavorful, with carrots in between that added a nice fresh crunch. The grilled vegetables on the side were lightly seasoned and cooked just right. It didn't come with a sauce like you might get at a fast-casual Mediterranean spot, but since we had hummus, I used that and it worked really well. The portion was large (more of a dinner size), so I took some home, and it was still fresh and delicious later. The only thing I'd suggest is adding a lunch-sized kebab option, sometimes you just want something lighter instead of a sandwich. My coworker ordered the chicken as well but swapped the rice for a salad and really enjoyed it. Overall, this was a great find. Beautiful space, excellent food, and we'd definitely come back. Highly recommend if you're looking for a more elevated Mediterranean meal. read more

Harissa was great! We got there at 6 and were the only ones for a while but it got busier as the night went on. It's well-decorated and the server was very friendly and explained the menus. Our group of 4 decided to order a bunch of items and share. Food was plenty and really delicious. We had a good bottle of rose too. It was nice to see an independent restaurant with great food amidst so many chain restaurants with so so food. Definitely check this place out! read more

I don't write a ton of reviews, but my wife and I visited Harissa Mediterranean for the first time and the atmosphere is nice, the service is great, and the food is excellent. My wife wouldn't consider this "authentic" but more of an elevated Mediterranean. Our waitress was very accommodating and the fresh baked bread with Baba Ganoush is very good. They also have a thick garlic creamy sauce for the bread that is awesome. The Beef Shish was good and the rice was very good. Overall, I highly recommend checking this out for your next date night! read more

What a great addition to Plano dining. Harissa is upscale yet relaxed, fine dining with a homemade personality. Large relaxing patio outside and comfortable seating inside. Great bar as well. I visited on a Monday evening with my date. She lives nearby but hadn't been yet, so it was fun to explore the menu together. We started with the Grilled Halloumi: warm cheese and grilled peaches drizzled with honey. A fantastic beginning. My companion ordered the Shrimp Kabob, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. I chose the Adana Kabob--ground beef with red pepper, onion, and Turkish spices, served with rice and vegetables. The smoky flavor from their grill really stood out. We finished with Turkish tea, which was the perfect ending to a great meal. High marks all around. read more

Exceptional food, ambience, and waitstaff. Shane was our waiter and recommended some excellent meals. We started off with the fried feta, and dolmas. Feta was amazing and prepared with right amount of honey and delightful crispy texture. Dolma was the best I've eaten in Texas-I've had many and this was by far tops. My Entree was unique with a fusion of Greek/Mexican that was tasty and culinary art at its best. Food came out fresh and fast. We ordered the peaches to-go and enjoyed this delicious treat at home with some Malta coffee. Overall food and service are excellent and we can't wait to go back and enjoy some more delicious entrees. Shane was knowledgeable of menu items and made great recommendations. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and presentation. They offer mocktails that are refreshingly light and have a full bar as well. read more

This was a fantastic meal. Ample parking, just walked in on a late weekend afternoon. Everything came together so well. They give pita bread and garlic dipping sauce. The haloumi goes so well with the bread. We also dipped the lahmacun into the garlic sauce as well. One entree, two apps were more than enough for two people. I would come back. read more

Absolute delight! It exceeded our expectations and surpassed our other favorite Turkish spots as a quick #1. From the tea, to the garlic sauce to the service it did not disappoint (ask for Oscar!). The lamb chops are the undeniable star! Tender, juicy, and seared just enough to lock in all that rich, savory flavor. Each bite melts in your mouth, balanced by buttery flavored rice. It's the kind of dish that makes you slow down, savor every bite, and immediately plan your next visit. Everything was so so so delicious... loved this experience at this new restaurant. The service was excellent. Ambiance was top notch -- the velour booth made us feel like Queens and Princesses. Thank you, Lisa & Jim, for all the delicious yummies. AMAZING!!! From the warm welcome and all throughout the entire meal. The Greek Gyro Plater was delicious, with the Fattoush as well and so fresh tasting! I have visited Harissa Mediterranean in Frisco twice. My first experience was quite positive--the food and service were both enjoyable, which motivated me to return on Father's Day weekend. During my second visit, the experience was noticeably different. Our waiter was friendly and courteous, but it appeared that he was responsible for too many tables, both indoors and outdoors, making it difficult for him to provide attentive service. To his credit, the staff worked well together and were supportive of one another, which I appreciated. As for the food, I found it to be more focused on grilled dishes rather than what I would consider authentic Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine. I ordered the beyti Roll, which consisted of a single ground beef skewer wrapped in flatbread with no toppings At $27, I did not feel the portion size or overall value justified the price. The calamari was small pieces and not tasty at all. Additionally, the accompanying sauces lacked the bold flavors I was expecting. While the restaurant has some strengths, particularly its friendly staff, ambiane, teamwork, my second visit did not meet the expectations set by my first experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I do not plan to return. read more

We stopped by Harissa Mediterranean in Plano for their grand opening and were blown away from the moment we walked in. The service was excellent--genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They started us with hot, fresh bread that paired perfectly with both the garlic sauce and their delicious hummus. Honestly one of the best openings to a meal we've had in a while. For mains, Liz had the Adana Kebab while I went with the beef kebab cooked medium rare. The quality of the meat was outstanding--this wasn't your typical choice or select cut; it tasted much closer to USDA prime. Tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly right at medium rare. Everything from the food to the service made this a fantastic first visit. We will definitely be coming back. read more

The ambiance really sets this apart from other Mediterranean restaurants in the area. The food is great, but that's expected for the mid-level prices. Ate here with wife late lunch/early dinner (about 4:00 PM) on a weekday. We were the only ones there. Prompt, attentive service from a very friendly waitress, with good recommendations. Free fresh hot pita bread with garlic butter. Wife had steak pita, I had lemon garlic chicken shish kabobs. Both were hot and very tasty. She had a coffee martini (excellent), I had the Mavi Mavi (blah, boring). Great ambience, clean bathrooms, fast friendly service. Good food variety. Easy parking. Good restaurant. read more

This place was a really nice surprise. We were in Plano for an appt and this place was nearby. Little did we know the treat that was in store for us!! First off this is a true authentic Mediterranean restaurant! Our waiter was amazing! From the moment we came in the door he was super helpful and delightful! We came at an off time so there were not many people but that had nothing to do with how amazing this place was. Everything and I mean everything we had was superb! Food that makes you ummmmm when u try it. Not to mention the ambience. All around great experience. Their fresh baked bread in the stone oven is so delectable! Along with the garlic butter spread. Ingredients were so fresh and cooked to perfection!!! Also, they brought out some house tea that was hot and refreshing. I don't like tea, like at all, but their tea was amazing! First tea I ever liked in my whole life! It's spiced with a hint of cardamom. Please do yourself a favor and try this place! You will not be disappointed! read more

This place is one of the newest restaurants in the Lakeside Plano area, and is a neighborhood gem of a place, with class & style, along with some great food and service. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of great items from which to choose on the menu. The grilled peaches with honey and cheese, the hummus & beef, and the calamari are all excellent. They have several pretty original sauces and dips that are quite creative. Also, their pita bread is the best that we have ever had, and is served fresh, piping-hot, and inflated to where it is like a ball - pretty original and the flavor is incredible. We've been there only twice since the opening a few weeks ago, but we are sure to be regulars at Harissa. read more

Really good food and really good service. Loved the lamb chops and all the appetizers was really good

Everything we had was delicious. The complimentary dips are fire. We also had the hummus which we all loved. Deboned chicken, Greek salad, beef kabobs were all great. Will definitely be back. Great restaurant! Food, service (Oscar!) and atmosphere were amazing. We will be back!

This was an accidental find that will be on our permanent preferred list from now on. I lived in turkey for 1.5 years so I know what true Mediterranean food tastes like. After talking to the founder the village in turkey he and his sister are from is just 30 miles outside of adana turkey where I lived when I was assigned there for the Air Force The ambiance is slightly upscale yet you will feel comfortable in a clean and fresh pair of jeans. Booths and chairs are overstuffed and very comfortable. The staff. Oh my. The staff. Just impeccable. They know their product and can convey what each item is so that anyone knows what they are ordering. The breads are fresh and hot when they arrive at the table. We had the appetizer sampler and it was to die for The beef and chicken kabobs were phenomenal. So tender and tasty Definitely a must try. Very prcing. Even for lunch it's $24-28 per plate and many options are over $40 per plate. We have eatten in many mediterranean restaurants.
