Kids Chicken Fingers

Not a super fan of fish food but this place nailed it with their dishes. My husband ordered chicken/catfish fingers and I ordered their popular beer fish tacos. Our son went with the chicken fingers basket and definitely approved. 10/10 on all. Seasoning was delicious and fish was crispy, not saturated in oil or rubbery like other places. Waiter was really nice and attentive to what we needed. Definitely coming back again!

We visited Super Shack with a craving for seafood close by. This is my third time at the restaurant with the intent to try something new. It is a pretty low-key place in terms of popularity. There hasn't been a large crowd any time that I've been. With plenty on the menu, you're sure to find something to enjoy. We had the fried catfish, Burria tacos, and enchiladas. All of the dishes hit the spot. Albeit, it's not a authentic or traditional cuisine, it was fairly good. The fried catfish was more Cajun style breading than tempura style. Lightly fried, but kind of bland. The birria tacos we a good size, alognside onions, lime, and grilled pepper/onion. I enjoyed it and I'm not even that big into the dish. Good job all around

Fish tacos

Great, cleanly cooked food! Theo place is larger than it looks and has good seating. I had the fish tacos and they were grilled perfectly and garnished with avocado, along with rice and slaw. Not a fan of the slaw alone, but when mixed with the rice. It makes for a great combination. Menu had several grilled options and even some Mexican food. The service, food and the adult beverage were GREAT. This place is into making good food, not overhyped . I encourage you to check it out if you are close to Rowlett!!!!

Salmon Salad

Great location and fast service. Comfortable ambiance and good music. My family enjoyed the calamari and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. We ordered shrimp tacos, tilapia tacos, shrimp tostadas, shrimp enchiladas, cheeseburger with fries and salmon salad and everything was delicious.

Grilled Sea Scallops

Wanted to love this place so bad!!! But unfortunately, everything we ordered fell short. The only good thing was they were a good sized portion. We got the scallops entree, seafood mix soup, 1 lbs of hot and spicy shrimp, and bread pudding. Scallops were overcooked and the hot and spicy shrimp were horrible! You can tell they were no where near fresh. The shrimp were practically falling apart and the tasted like they've been sitting in a boiling pot for far too long. Seafood mix soup.... it looked so delicious on the menu and when it came out. It's not bad but the main attraction are the crab legs it comes with - again, another disappointment with the old seafood taste. Bread pudding was the worst we've ever had.... bread was hard and rubbery. The ice cream was good! Lol. We did see a lot of folks order their fried seafood, perhaps we should have done the same but we will not be returning.

Coconut Shrimp Basket - very good choice!!

Mine was 4 star - his was 3. I had the coconut shrimp and fries, both were really good. Shrimp were good size, lots of coconut. And the sauce was good. He started with the gumbo - which he said was lacking a really good roux. And it wasn't very hot in temperature. He had the fish tacos, which just looked sad. It was a single piece of fish with a slice of avocado. There was slaw on the beer battered one, but not on the grilled ones. Easy fix, we asked for some slaw - they have spicy and regular. That helped the tacos. He had veggies instead of rice - mostly squash and zucchini...with one broccoli and a few carrots. But they were cooked well and he enjoyed them. We'd go back.

Plenty of choices; order here

Super Shack is hard to miss, with a huge neon sign. (Where Fuzzy's used to be.). We love seafood, and this place has a ton of potential! It is easy to order at the counter, fix your drinks, and wait for the food at a table. They have about 8 types of liquor, if you want to sling your own drinks. Wide array of seafood choices, mostly boiled or fried. The crab legs looked pretty good. We started with a huge Shrimp Cocktail, which was aparently served in a glass full of tomato soup. Too thin to be cocktail sauce or pico, it was like a drink! I dipped about 4oz of the liquid out, so I could access the shrimp. Plenty of crackers on the table. Need to work on the sauce. Our fried shrimp were large and juicy. Our fried catfish were huge, although smaller pieces would've been crisper. (I like crisp catfish.). They bring tartar sauce with the food, or make your own cocktail sauce at the central station. We were excited about Bread Pudding & Ice Cream, but it was a disappointment. (We love bread pudding.). This BP was a huge, dense, leathery chew toy. I've never seen BP like this. Avoid it. The concept is good, but it needs a bit of work.

Blackened Salmon Salad $9.99

We are officially new fans! I can't remember how many times we've passed by and said we need to try this place sometime. Well, today was the day. We came in around 11:30 AM on a Saturday, so we were the first customers. Our first thought was how spotlessly clean the place was. They have a walk up counter to order and the menu is large. I ordered the salmon salad and asked if the salmon could be blackened. For $9.99 it was a large piece of salmon and it was cooked perfectly. My husband and the 2 piece fried catfish with 3 shrimp basket. He really liked the corn meal coating and said that it was much better than Fish & Tails in Rowlett. It was obvious that everything was made fresh. We were also surprised to see a really big covered outdoor patio out back. At about 12:30 lots of people started coming in for lunch. Apparently there are plenty of people in Rowlett that have figured out how good this place is before we did. That's ok, now we know and will definitely be back on the regular.

The food is very greasy. The seats are hard and uncomfortable. The prices are crazy high for the food that you get.

The staff is always friendly and pleasant, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working here. There are plenty of seating options: a cozy bar area, three separate dining rooms, a large patio with its own bar, and even picnic tables out back. I think the upstairs may be reserved for private events. Every time I visit, I end up ordering the same thing because it's just that good--the Naked Chicken three-piece. Absolutely delicious! I'm also glad they now offer two sides with your entrée for a small extra charge. The mac & cheese and green beans are both amazing. I've tried a cocktail or two, but usually skip them since the portions are small for the price. Overall, this is such a fun, charming spot with consistently great food. Definitely one of my go-to favorites! Add it to the Love List

Brick and Bones Backyard is a blue house on the corner of Main St. in Rowlett, Tx, that has been transformed into something magical. This Mexican-Inspired "chicken shop" is offering fried & rotisserie chicken, classic cocktails, and live music in a rustic setting. The menu is diverse and offering all things chicken that is brined 24 hours, fried and can be order breaded or naked( for the gluten-free in you). They also have rotisserie chicken, tenders, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wings, along with unique sides. Poblano mashed potatoes, habanero mac n cheese, mexican corn, etc... often garnished with fresh radish and cilantro around out the menu, with top notch service to boot. Mi marido ordered the breaded fried chicken, mexican corn and poblano mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was well seasoned with a great crunch. The potatoes had good flavor, but were barely warm. I can imagine their greatness heated. The mexican corn on the other hand was the real elote deal! The fresh snap of sweet corn, dosed with cotija cheese and spices lives up to the hype! Sweet, spicy, savory, it hit all the flavor profiles. I had the naked chicken with an order crinkle fries(faves) which was greatly appreciated for it's gluten-freeness and flavor. However, it was abit overcooked. Which left it thready and a little dry. The sauce that accompanied it, was needed, but shouldn't have been, while the fries were fresh, but undercooked. The concept and flavors make Brick & Bone standout on the chicken front. Better execution can make it a cut above the rest. Check It Out!

We took my dad to dinner and he complained that it was a little loud, but felt like we sat right under a speaker. I explained to him that it was part of the "vibe". Other than the volume making it difficult to hear, everything was fantastic. We probably could have asked to sit on the heated patio. The chips were warm and fresh and came with both red and green salsa, and both were super tasty. My husband asked if I could make salsa like that at home! We ordered drinks and they came quickly. I appreciated the quality of the drinks especially since we mostly ordered from their drink menu. We ordered "The Good Guac" to start and our server made sure that it wasn't too spicy or anything for my dad. I thought that was very thoughtful that she asked if how it came was ok. For food we ordered street tacos, Baja fish tacos and the parillada en fuego. The food runner seemed confused and brought us another dish (maybe the Verde molcajete) but with the loud music the message that we didn't order it was lost in translation. My husband thought maybe it was what he ordered and started in. Because our server came to check on us so quickly, she caught the mistake right away. She apologized profusely and said they were bringing what we ordered. They allowed us to keep the dish, and no sooner did we have a few bites of the deliciousness the correct food came out. They checked on us quickly, apologized profusely, brought the correct food immediately, let us keep the other food, sent another manager to apologize and finally followed up with coupons to return after making sure we were satisfied with how they handled it. I understand humans make mistakes, so I feel like the recovery or response is what is important. This is the type of amazing service that will keep us coming back. We were actually happy with the mistake as we were able to try another dish we likely wouldn't have ordered (but ended up being our favorite thing to eat). The ambiance was fun, parking was easy, the wait was reasonable, the service was FANTASTIC, the food was delicious and food/drinks were made with quality ingredients. We'll be back!

Since we were going to the show, why not go for dinner? I mean we have never been. Love that you can book reservations online. Super easy to get through the gate and it has amazing views. We were greeted by the host who was so kind. The place was super busy, I assume due to the show. So, we had to wait about 10 minutes. Table right in the middle of action... 1 min... 2 min... 7 minutes no greeting nothing and a woman walks by and says she will be right us. Cool. Thanks for letting us know. Walks past us 4 more times and nothing. The good thing is clearly someone else noticed and brought us water and said she was helping while the server got caught up. Okay. Everything will be OK. Whole ordering our drinks the server took over. Ordered drinks. App and 2 entrees. Then she was gone. 30 minutes after seating... nothing. Not even drinks yet. 32 minutes... she brings my husband's can of beer. No glass. No manhatten. She says they are working on mine. After 32 minutes (at least 20 minutes after ordering our drink)... can we have a glass? 5+ minutes later she brings me my manhattan... in a wine glass? Before I smell it I ask if its a manhattan because it looked like wine (damn good pour). Her response... I don't know. Never had one before. And still no glass. A. The Manhattan was fabulous and a ridiculously amazing pour. And for the cost... damn. Thats amazing. We decided she never rang in our drinks. Its the only thing that makes sense. It had really quieted down and the bartenders were working hard. And thats fine. But own it. Another 40 minutes and she stopped by once. Said our food was coming. But honestly haven't had a server who seemed to care less about her table in quite a while. Food came about 45 minutes after ordering. We ordered the Philly egg rolls... flavor was awesome. But they were cold. Clearly they had been sitting... for a while. Literally the cheese had melted onto each other and cooled. The entrees came at the same time. Smash burger and chicken fried chicken. Both honestly really good. The mashed potatoes were cold though... not sure if its because they werent kept warm in the prep station or if our plates just died waiting on server. Flavors were good though, including the gravy and fries. Good seasoning. We asked for ranch. Can you believe she never brought it? Nope us either. Seriously. The service was the worst we had in a while. It seemed exlusive to our table/server. I finally got her name at the end... Leandra. I am not trying to put her on blast everyone has a bad night. When my husband asked about the ranch. She said oh I forgot that too.. no apologies for that or the entire night. I said well it has been a rough night... she said yep. Here's the check. We are super nice... lots of grace... but this service made me almost want to not return. But... this is a small business trying to create something for our community. So im going to return oncs more and score is based on potential. But please owners.... staff is hard to come by, and maybe it was a rough night... but no one will survive if 30 minutes with not even drinks and cold food is acceptable. Its a beautiful space, flavorful food and great energy im very hopeful.
