Seafood saffron risotto with dill cream sauce

Me and a friend went to the Oar House for lunch. The menu is smaller but the food is awesome as always. I had the house salad with their yummy dressing and seafood saffron risotto with a dill cream sauce. So rich and creamy! All their sauces are to die for. My friend had the house salad and a chicken breast sautéed with artichokes, capers and a wine sauce. She said it was one of her favorites. For dessert I had a B52 cappuccino and my friend had the chocolate mousse cake. It was all so good! Our waiter was new and we gave him some pointers. He really did a good job for his first day! He will do well once he learns the ropes!

Tried this place for the first time last week. The food was all phenomenal. The halibut was amazing. The lobster bisque was the best I've ever had. Same for the steak! Everything was exquisite! Like absolutely blown away. But then we went back exactly a week later on another regular Tuesday night (my 11 year anniversary) and they said that they were only seating people with reservations so we could not be seated. That honestly left a really bad taste in my mouth so you lost a star for the bad service and disappointment you left us. What kind of restaurant does that????

I HATE to be the one to do this because this has been a long time favorite over the many years my family has lived in Rockwall. 20+ years. We haven't been here in a really long time because it is quite pricy but last night was my sister's birthday and we were excited to splurge. The food used to be top quality. This is no longer the case at all. Dish by dish... the calamari was actually really good. Nice fat pieces and flavorful. The Caesar salad... decent but is not an option as a soup or salad that comes with your meal. They charge you extra for it. Why? It's a damn plain ass Caesar salad. Nothing special about it. The crab claws were quite pitiful. So small and barely any meat hanging on to the claw. They give you a lot of them but they are sad. The sauce with the crab claws was really good though. Great for dipping your bread in. I had the veil with sun dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. If that wasn't the most pathetic piece of veil I have ever seen in my life. Almost as thin as paper and cooked to death. The white wine sauce belonged on a plate in a hospital cafeteria. The bruschetta was also pitiful. Just look at the photo. It tastes about how it looks. I give two stars because the service was very good. We enjoyed our server as he was polite and prompt. We spent a lot of money for food that was just not complimentary to the prices. I hate to be so disappointed because I talked this place up to my fiancé just for the food to be crap. Needless to say, I will not return which breaks my little food loving heart.

First time here. My wife and I celebrated or 43rd anniversary here. We had exceptional service and the food was great. Even had some escargot for the first time, wow. And that was a good wow.

The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully curated without trying too hard. The service was top-notch. Attentive and friendly server -- you can tell they care about every guest's experience. And the food... wow. By far some of the greatest Italian dishes we've had -- and that's saying a lot because we've traveled all over Europe. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients and pride. If you appreciate delicious, high-quality food and a charming atmosphere, this place is a must. Today, we went to Zanata's for my birthday. Honestly, our service was just mediocre compared to all of our other experiences here. It seemed as if our server was ready to leave or something as we overheard her telling a new server coming in that our table had already ordered. Maybe that is part of the reason why part of my meal was forgotten. She made sure she to let us know that she took it off, great- because we didn't get it. I would have ordered a second glass of wine, but she never came back by to ask. When she came by to ask about dessert, it came out as "you didn't want the dessert menu did you?"" ..... no, not asking that way. Our food was good and I'll give it another try, but not in a Saturday afternoon and definitely not for my birthday. So we left and are going elsewhere for dessert and drinks.

I was introduced to the original Campisi's on Mockingbird over 50 years ago by my father. All other…read morepizza pales in comparison to what Campisi's delivers. My favorite? Large pizza with garlic and double mushroom. I also love their small side salads. You pay extra for Campisi's - but it will ruin you for other pizza. The only problem with this location is the parking situation. There's a movie theater practically next door and finding a space is kinda like The Hunger Games. People are always coming and going, so you have to circle around a few times before you can find a spot. During my most recent visit, I called in my order to pick up and when I got there, the gal at the register was struggling with my credit card. They sadly do not have Apple Pay. I hope this changes. I prefer contactless payments for fraud prevention. I have worked retail and I tried to show her how to properly swipe the card. She kept asking for another card, which I did not have. She turned to a colleague who swiped it correctly on the first attempt and she apologized for the trouble and gave me a free drink. When the weather is nice, they have outdoor seating with a covering canopy. Since moving out of Dallas, this is one of the closest Campisi's locations to where I live now, and having been to 5 of their locations, they are consistent with pizza quality throughout the chain. There was a dark period about 16-18 years ago when someone went full moron and decided to save money by switching to American Cheese. I am not kidding you. The pizza went from epic to inedible. I boycotted them for years until I was told by someone in the know that they had switched back to the original recipe. If you ate at a Campisi's during "the dark ages" when they made this switch, give them another chance. Because they're back to the original quality. I've had a lot of pizza in my life - but no one holds a candle to Campisi's. The crust. The sauce. The crispy crust. So many taste highlights and great texture. No other pizza comes close to them. None. Never soggy - AND by far, the best cold pizza I've ever had in my life. I always order more than I can eat. The rest goes in the fridge and I honestly don't even need to heat it up. It's great straight out of the fridge. They cut the pizza into long rectangles and this makes it much more manageable to eat - but they will cut it any way you prefer if you tell them when you order. Life on planet earth can be rough sometimes - but there's always Campisi's to brighten up the day.

3.5 to 4 stars Tasty pizza, almost looks like a flatbread…read moreshape. But don't tell the hubby that haha! He loves this pizza. I like it because both ingredients and quality of toppings are good. You wanna dine in? This location is not for that as others have pointed out. You have to kinda fight for inside seating because there are maybe like 5 small tables, so this is def a take out kind of place. No real waiter/waitress here. They just bring you your food and bye. Would be another star if they had more tables and actual servers. Some outside seating but when we went it was too hot for that. Now for me the star of the show was the Olive salad because I love love olives but being that no one else likes them I don't get to eat them as much. The Olive salad was olive joy!! Ask for the dressing on the side if you don't like soggy salad. So if you want a pretty good pizza with quality ingredients get yourself here. I like that it's never greasy.

We had dinner for two on a Saturday night with no reservation and we were seated within 5 minutes. The service was probably one of the best I've experienced. The speed in which our meals came out was impressive; it came out hot and fresh. We got the Chicken Parmigiana and the Niko Special. The Niko Special was something of beauty, both visually and taste wise lol. The chef was on to something with that Vodka aurora sauce. It came with hot cherry peppers as well, but I didn't taste/feel the spice as much. The complimentary garlic rolls were amazing. My leftovers made for a second meal because of the generous portion size. Overall a great dining experience and such an extremely friendly staff. Kudos all around.
