I HATE to be the one to do this because this has been a long time favorite over the many years my family has lived in Rockwall. 20+ years. We haven't been here in a really long time because it is quite pricy but last night was my sister's birthday and we were excited to splurge. The food used to be top quality. This is no longer the case at all. Dish by dish... the calamari was actually really good. Nice fat pieces and flavorful. The Caesar salad... decent but is not an option as a soup or salad that comes with your meal. They charge you extra for it. Why? It's a damn plain ass Caesar salad. Nothing special about it. The crab claws were quite pitiful. So small and barely any meat hanging on to the claw. They give you a lot of them but they are sad. The sauce with the crab claws was really good though. Great for dipping your bread in. I had the veil with sun dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. If that wasn't the most pathetic piece of veil I have ever seen in my life. Almost as thin as paper and cooked to death. The white wine sauce belonged on a plate in a hospital cafeteria. The bruschetta was also pitiful. Just look at the photo. It tastes about how it looks. I give two stars because the service was very good. We enjoyed our server as he was polite and prompt. We spent a lot of money for food that was just not complimentary to the prices. I hate to be so disappointed because I talked this place up to my fiancé just for the food to be crap. Needless to say, I will not return which breaks my little food loving heart.

First time here. My wife and I celebrated or 43rd anniversary here. We had exceptional service and the food was great. Even had some escargot for the first time, wow. And that was a good wow.

This place has so much character, the decor itself is really warming, calming, and comforting to me. I love all of the stained glass everywhere in the place. And the mixed matched plates are really cute to me. I know a few other places that do that and they always seem to be the best places. The service was just perfect and our waitress was super sweet and was happy to explain more about the dishes to my husband and I. I personally got the Vitello Carciofino and it was Amazing! All of the flavors were so rich and the food is filling too. I've never had anything like it before and we will definitely be coming back to try out more of the dishes. I personally didn't want to leave the place cause of how welcoming it is. Keep up the good work there you all

Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients and pride. If you appreciate delicious, high-quality food and a charming atmosphere, this place is a must. We will absolutely be back!

We were roaming around the old courthouse Square downtown and stumbled upon this jewel. The atmosphere is really laid-back cool and their prices are quite fair. We split the bruschetta salad.. it was HUGE!! Very fresh with a wonderful, light dressing. The cheesy bread that comes with this salad is very good. Interestingly, it is served under the salad. For our entrée, we split the meatball lasagna. Again, a huge single portion, so splitting it was perfect. We have many terrific restaurants around us - Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake. However, this was one of the finest Italian meals we have had anywhere, including Little Italy in Boston. Everything was so flavorful and hearty. The garlic toast served with the lasagna was also excellent. By the way, the old-fashioned with Makers Mark bourbon was superb as well. Based on our first-time experience, there is nothing NOT to like about this establishment. I just wish the portions weren't so generous so that we might have had room for the coconut cream pie. BTW, Hailey is an excellent server.

First and most concerning--there was plastic in one of the dishes. I initially mistook it for a sun-dried tomato and actually tried to eat it. After realizing the texture was off, I unwrapped it and saw it was a whole piece of plastic. That's completely unacceptable and raises major food safety concerns. On top of that, my grandfather ordered the Penne Rosa--actually, we ordered two of them--but one came out as a completely different dish. We still have no idea what it was. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it definitely wasn't what we ordered or paid for. For the amount of money we spent on this order, the quality control and attention to detail just weren't there. Really disappointed, and we won't be returning.

Large pizza with garlic and double mushroom. I also love their small side salads. You pay extra for Campisi's - but it will ruin you for other pizza. The only problem with this location is the parking situation. There's a movie theater practically next door and finding a space is kinda like The Hunger Games. People are always coming and going, so you have to circle around a few times before you can find a spot. During my most recent visit, I called in my order to pick up and when I got there, the gal at the register was struggling with my credit card. They sadly do not have Apple Pay. I hope this changes. I prefer contactless payments for fraud prevention. I have worked retail and I tried to show her how to properly swipe the card. She kept asking for another card, which I did not have. She turned to a colleague who swiped it correctly on the first attempt and she apologized for the trouble and gave me a free drink. When the weather is nice, they have outdoor seating with a covering canopy. Since moving out of Dallas, this is one of the closest Campisi's locations to where I live now, and having been to 5 of their locations, they are consistent with pizza quality throughout the chain. There was a dark period about 16-18 years ago when someone went full moron and decided to save money by switching to American Cheese. I am not kidding you. The pizza went from epic to inedible. I boycotted them for years until I was told by someone in the know that they had switched back to the original recipe. If you ate at a Campisi's during "the dark ages" when they made this switch, give them another chance. Because they're back to the original quality. I've had a lot of pizza in my life - but no one holds a candle to Campisi's. The crust. The sauce. The crispy crust. So many taste highlights and great texture. No other pizza comes close to them. None. Never soggy - AND by far, the best cold pizza I've ever had in my life. I always order more than I can eat. The rest goes in the fridge and I honestly don't even need to heat it up. It's great straight out of the fridge. They cut the pizza into long rectangles and this makes it much more manageable to eat - but they will cut it any way you prefer if you tell them when you order. Life on planet earth can be rough sometimes - but there's always Campisi's to brighten up the day.
