Loved the atmosphere of this place. Have garage doors that look like they open up and patio seating. They also have a kiddie area for kids to play. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. There wasn't anything we had that was bad. Definitely will come back. read more

Came here as my first bite back in town and Boy, I couldn't recommend it more! I had Kristin's Fried Chicken Sandwich and sweet potato fries and OH MY Goodness! Everything tasted so amazing and flavorful. Also had the Hibiscus Margarita with a sugar rim and it was a definite hit out of the park! It was delightfully weird and exactly as explained. A Ruben sandwich converted to a pasta dish. I was not a big fan BUT that is my taste. Been here a few times now and it is quickly becoming me and my wife's favorite spot! The staff are friendly and we love that there's an area for kids to play. Everything we've tried there so far has been amazing. The Bettie burger and Texas Burger are big, juicy, and packed with flavor. I've ordered the Reuben several times and my wife loves the Chicken salad sandwich which she describes as light and delicious! We also love the mocktails. So far we've tried the blackberry ginger mule and it was so stinkin' good! All in all, great food, chill atmosphere, and friendly faces. We love it! read more

3rd time trying this place. Food is WAY overpriced and tastes like frozen microwave meals sadly. Fried pickles were overcooked so much the breading crumbled when picked up, husband only ate half his burger, I got pasta with grilled chicken and it tasted like canned chicken. This was my first experience with Anvil Brewing and I must say I am impressed! I ordered the Texas Burger and it was EXCELLENT! The burger was larger than my head and came with a healthy portion of fries that were seasoned with salt and fresh cracked pepper. Not only was the burger patty huge, but it was loaded with so much shredded brisket that I could have made two sandwiches from the brisket alone if I wanted. This burger was perfect in every aspect. Shockingly delicious! We got a fancy goat cheese apple flatbread pizza with cauli crust and it was amazing! My husband got chicken and waffles, and it was delicious too. I got some light hibiscus brew by Anvil and even though it's not something I would normally drink it was good. They were out of their IPA and that was the only downside. My brother and I just left this place, Each of us had 1 drink a piece. Simple jack and coke for each of us. Thinking of our father, on Father's Day,.......the bartender........whom is barely older than my oldest child......cut us off after 1 drink a piece..........., No wonder this place is dead!!!!!!!! Lived here for over 8 years, when this place was just a volunteer fire station for Royse City, for which the bartender didn't even know the building's history. I had to educate and inform her! It was a hot day in June when we meandered into this joint. It wasn't much cooler inside...PLEASE get your a/c working!!! The atmosphere is a mix of bar and family dining. Our server was amazing! She recommended several dishes, which we ordered. Some were a hits, but some were strikes. Cracklins with spicy pimento dip was delicious. The fried chicken sandwich is good but not great. Patty melt was solid, but the fries could be crispyer. Coleslaw was good and the cheese beer dip was killer! We went during the first few days of opening, did they have opportunity to tighten up, of course it's a brand new spot. Staff was good and some even great. Food was legit, many different options and I went with the burger with goat cheese and bacon jam - that was great! This is in an old fire station and kept the theme, it was a really fun place. Open,simple but awesome space. SERIOUSLY HOW OFTEN CAN YOU TAKE YOUR DOG IN SOMEWHERE TO HAVE DRINKS?!! very much appreciated in the TX summer . There is outdoor seating as well. The staff was extremely friendly. We have an 8mo Cane Corso(110pds) that is still learning some manners and occasionally barks when not necessary. The staff was so understanding (he would bark 2-4x) and the owner even came over and introduced himself. The food was great as well. Definitely recommend getting any of their dips as an appetizer. Went here with our adult children and grandchildren. Took us 15 minutes to get a server. The adults got drinks and then 10 minutes later our children did. After we ordered, it took 1 hour to receive our food! Then they forgot to put in the order for one of our grandchildren. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant, 2 of which had their food already. The table behind us was full of dirty dishes and were finally removed when we were finished eating. Ordered an appetizer as soon as we sat down - it ended up coming out with our food. What is the point of an appetizer if it comes with everything else? Didn't even want it at that point. Server tried to apologize but she could have at minimum taken it off the bill after waiting 30 min to get any food. There were two other tables and the excuse was there's only one cook. We ordered the jalapeño dip, which shouldn't be that difficult. When we finally got our food, it was subpar. Not worth the wait for what you get and how much it costs. Ambiance is ok. We had came here since it was an old fire-station. All types of flag's hanging on the wall. Food, id say was below mid. We got a mushroom burger on a brioche bun. I told my boyfriend we literally made the same thing at home. Nothing different about it and we shopped at aldi that day. Like damn... I I asked what type of meat they used for the patty since that would determine how id like it cooked. Ground chuck isn't something i would cook medium well unless it was colby or waygu. Nevertheless we got that patty damn near medium. We got the potato salad as our side for our burger since a couple people had told us it was spicy. Gurl, a potato salad with 1000 island dressing and mustard is not my definition of spice. Our apps. I dont know why id get a side of 1000 island with fried pickles but ok. The batter wasnt it for me yall. But the only thing that was decent were the spicy green beans..oh that are fried. Most of the drinks they had from their home brewery, they didnt have. Fried green tomatoes are great. Lightly breaded tasting. The sweet potato fries have brisket and cheese and jalapeños, and some kind of sauce that I didn't care for. The chicken and waffles were Devine. It comes with whisky syrup so if you want regular syrup just request it. The service was great as we were one of the first customers on day 2 being open for them. The place offers a huge open room with plenty of tables. It's a lil pricey but I think it's okay for all the food you get. Located off main st in royse city and lord did we need new restaurants!! Went at open on a Sunday. They only gave us the brunch menu. We had to grab our own full menu one. The entire menu is available all day. I'm not sure why they only gave us brunch one, but whatever. Brunch is 11-3 if you want that. Ordered Bryon's fried chicken sammich minus the texas remoulade. Had beer cheese added to the fries.
