Came here as my first bite back in town and Boy, I couldn't recommend it more! I had Kristin's Fried Chicken Sandwich and sweet potato fries and OH MY Goodness! Everything tasted so amazing and flavorful. Also had the Hibiscus Margarita with a sugar rim and it was a definite hit out of the park! Shockingly delicious! We got a fancy goat cheese apple flatbread pizza with cauli crust and it was amazing! My husband got chicken and waffles, and it was delicious too. I got some light hibiscus brew by Anvil and even though it's not something I would normally drink it was good. They were out of their IPA and that was the only downside. This was my first experience with Anvil Brewing and I must say I am impressed! I ordered the Texas Burger and it was EXCELLENT! The burger was larger than my head and came with a healthy portion of fries that were seasoned with salt and fresh cracked pepper. Not only was the burger patty huge, but it was loaded with so much shredded brisket that I could have made two sandwiches from the brisket alone if I wanted. This burger was perfect in every aspect. My brother and I just left this place, Each of us had 1 drink a piece. Simple jack and coke for each of us. Thinking of our father, on Father's Day,.......the bartender........whom is barely older than my oldest child......cut us off after 1 drink a piece..........., No wonder this place is dead!!!!!!!! It was a hot day in June when we meandered into this joint. It wasn't much cooler inside...PLEASE get your a/c working!!! The atmosphere is a mix of bar and family dining. Our server was amazing! She recommended several dishes, which we ordered. Some were a hits, but some were strikes. Cracklins with spicy pimento dip was delicious. The fried chicken sandwich is good but not great. Patty melt was solid, but the fries could be crispyer. Coleslaw was good and the cheese beer dip was killer! We went during the first few days of opening, did they have opportunity to tighten up, of course it's a brand new spot. Staff was good and some even great. Food was legit, many different options and I went with the burger with goat cheese and bacon jam - that was great! This is in an old fire station and kept the theme, it was a really fun place. Ordered an appetizer as soon as we sat down - it ended up coming out with our food. What is the point of an appetizer if it comes with everything else? Didn't even want it at that point. Server tried to apologize but she could have at minimum taken it off the bill after waiting 30 min to get any food. There were two other tables and the excuse was there's only one cook. We ordered the jalapeño dip, which shouldn't be that difficult. When we finally got our food, it was subpar. Not worth the wait for what you get and how much it costs. I told my boyfriend we literally made the same thing at home. Nothing different about it and we shopped at aldi that day. Like damn... I I asked what type of meat they used for the patty since that would determine how id like it cooked. Ground chuck isn't something i would cook medium well unless it was colby or waygu. Nevertheless we got that patty damn near medium. We got the potato salad as our side for our burger since a couple people had told us it was spicy. Gurl, a potato salad with 1000 island dressing and mustard is not my definition of spice. Our apps. I dont know why id get a side of 1000 island with fried pickles but ok. Went at open on a Sunday. They only gave us the brunch menu. We had to grab our own full menu one. The entire menu is available all day. I'm not sure why they only gave us brunch one, but whatever.
