Decided to try this place for Father's Day, and I'm really glad I did. The food was really good! I especially loved the little salad bar with all the burger toppings--it's great that you can build your own just the way you like it. I LOVE me some Joe Willy's! It starts with the smile as soon as you walk in! Whoever is at the counter is always smiling and ready to help! I love their chicken tender meal with the home made fries!! Their burgers are always good as well. Their fix-ins bar reminds me of Fuddrucker's back in its prime. They have two different kinds of pickles!! They have home made gravy, Ranch & Hickory BBQ Sauce. everything from their cool ambiance they have going on. It's retro and community driven. They have the tub of a variety of flavored cane soda bottles In ice. I have yet to try dessert there but they have an ice cream bar and have retro candy that will take you back to the 80's. They have fundraisers and their walls are literally covered with pictures of their community throughout the years. And they might have a local team of some random in season sport helping learn how to serve. It's all just awesome and they're a true Rockwall gem! read more

Back in town for another event so Joe W's on the menu. Very close to event so fits right in with our travel plans from Plano. Got the 1/3 burger with cheese and fries and all set. Travel tip; east bound into Rockwall July 2025 construction on I-30 bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard cuts down one lane so slow crossing. Best you can do in car is get in far left lane for better visability around 18-wheelers till you reach the city. Going west is not a problem at least on Fri afternoon. read more

A local favorite for a long as I remember, before we got here and still going after we left. Still every bit as good as I remembered. This place supports the local community and sport teams, with High School teams pictures up covering the walls and windows. Local teams soccer teams pictures and pictures of all the people that support this business. Order at the counter wait for a hot fresh meal. Great food, the best fries absolutely the best onion rings anywhere. Really great chicken strips. Homestyle gravy, bbq sauce, ranch dressing and all the unlimited fixings. I truly miss this place. We stopped here after visiting family during the eclipse and wanted a bite to eat before we drove home. It came up as one of the best places for hamburgers on Yelp so we decided to used to stop and try them out. You walk in and order at the counter, they take your name and call for you when it's ready. The had meals like chicken fried steak and others but we just wanted burgers. You order your burger, sides and drinks separately. We got a hamburger, a cheeseburger, and an order of fries/onion rings. Plus just waters to drink. It wasn't the cheapest place but no more expensive than a lot of other burger places. I am being very generous in giving this place a 2. This was the fourth time I have eaten here...and it was, by far, the worst. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak...the bun was soggy, at best. I also ordered a combo basket...that was supposed to be a combo of two sides...I chose onion rings and deep fried mushrooms...I received onion rings and fries. What a thrill to see the same menu available. I quickly ordered my regular from back in the day. I had a grilled chicken breast sandwich and an order of fried mushrooms. To compliment those items I had fresh red onions, sliced, kosher, pickles, and cream gravy. Just like old times. Spot on perfection. Definitely worth the drive from Dallas to visit this old familiar joint. When you arrive, order at the counter. They will call your order when it's ready. 3.75 stars as far as a burger place goes. It would be four stars if they had a burger and fries basket. Who wants to pay $17.11 for a 1/3 pound burger, fries and a drink? This is my first time here, I may come back but will definitely share a burger with my wife. The burger was alright as far as a pre made pressed patty goes. I ordered it medium and it was cooked medium with just a bit of pink. The fries are good, too many for one person. The burger side bar is a nice addition but please make a sandwich basket with a side. No way was my burger, fries and drink worth $17 with tax. You can get a much better burger cheaper at chili's but this place does have the atmosphere, guess that is what I paid for. read more

I went with my daughter and we order 2 1/3lb burgers with cheese, 2 sodas, and an onion ring/fry basket. It came up to about $33. I was like damn! That's a lot. The food was good. Onion rings were a little too salty but it was still good. I asked for well done burgers and one came out with pink in the middle so I ate it so my daughter wouldn't complain to me about her not wanting to eat it. The restaurant is order at the counter type. Asked for name so have to pickup also. The girls taking orders were pleasant. Ordered chicken fried steak dinner. Expecting mashed potatoes and gravy. But didn't come with mashed potatoes but rather French fries or a salad. Gravy was served in salad bar setting, on the side. The ranch dressing is homemade and very good. The gravy has lots of flavor as does the steak. The decor is local high school themed. But yet no tvs to watch any games. Could see place as hangout after Friday Night Lights. The hamburgers and the chicken sandwich were good too. It has serve yourself fixins bar filled with plenty of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, different pickles, jalapeños and more.
