The burger is fine. It's ok. I'm not sure if it was worth the hassle of the extended lunch break and hour round trip I took from work but it was fine. Simply put it tastes like your grandpas backyard bbq type of burger. And there isn't anything wrong with that. If I had tried this burger five years ago, before the crazy cheeseburger boom of recent years, I probably would have enjoyed it more. But now there's just so many more options around that almost make this experience feel a bit moot. $9 bucks for their double double and it took twenty minutes to make with two people ahead of me in line. I'm glad others enjoyed there's more than I did.

I discovered Boots Burger yesterday while shopping in Rockwall. I wanted to find a local burger spot nearby Boots Burger appeared in my search. After reading a few reviews and checking out their menu, I decided to order a double double which is a double cheese burger. They don't sell fries but they have chips and a soda machine for beverages. According to the reviews you have to arrive early to avoid being sold out. I parked and there was another customer waiting in his vehicle. As soon as they opened, about five more cars pulled up and their phone rung constantly while waiting for my burger. I spoke with four regular customers who also recommended me to get the spicy relish on my burger. Two of the guys live in Allen so they have customers all over Texas. I decided to go back and order a burger for my husband and add relish on the side. The burgers are very good and their prices are affordable. They have been in business since 1968. This place is take out only so arrive early or place your order over the phone. Once they run out of meat, they will close for the day. Owners are very nice and are passionate about making delicious burgers. I'll definitely be back again soon for one of their burgers.

Cash only Take out only No fries but chips offered and a drink machine. American cheese only Limited hours of operation Two old dudes who were super friendly and hospitable took my order and made my burger in less than 5 mins, "otherwise it's an hour wait". Really simple offerings- single or double meat; cheese (American only) or not; Jalapeño relish; and lettuce, tomato, pickle , onion, and mayo/mustard. The bun was toasted, the burger was well done (not my preference) on a flat top. I didn't taste any significant seasoning but it was fresh, hot , and pretty good for less than $8 for a double that wasn't laden w/salt like a fast food burger. There is a quirky unique coziness to this place, as it's in a residential neighborhood in a shed-like structure in the back of a house. on a corner lot. People wait in their cars or take a seat at a picnic table while their food is prepared. There is no eating on site. Love the concept!

No dining allowed at Boots Burger! Take your Booty to nearby Lofland Park picnic tables (no restroom)

I have only one thing to say about Dudley's bar and grill, excellent people, excellent service,…read morethese people went out of their way even though, I wasn't even their customer. I fell in the parking lot, wasn't even their responsibility. It wasn't their fault, but their staff, was more than helpful, made me feel like what's in the right place. Next thing they did, was to comfort me, and give me medical treatment. I mean it was only a few scratches. My forearm was bleeding. Of course. I was bleeding all over the parking lot. But they didn't care, they took care of me when I need them. They opened their bathroom, and they gave me sufficient medical care to get home. I've never been in Dudley's bar before. But I give them a AAA reading on there staff, and need to be helpful. It seemed like a bunch of off duty. Paramedics took care me. I very much appreciate their time and their care.

While filling it up it ran out. When asked if there was more a snarky remark was no I'm not making anymore and proceeded to try and charge 3.60 something for one of the juices to refill. When asked for bbq it was $.50 and ranch was $1.25 for a 2oz cup. Let's start with the good. The staff are always friendly, and the newly remodeled dining room is…read morevery clean and modern, though I prefer warm LED lighting that mimics incandescents. I wish more places would use these, but perhaps I'm in the minority and people prefer the sterile coldness of cool white LEDs. Also, the food tastes pretty good. Sure, it's full of all the ingredients the other fast-food places use, like all the preservatives, seed oils, and other flavor enhancers, but it tastes pretty good. The problem for me, though, and it's a big one I've noticed at other places as well: the food tastes like artificial fragrance. At least the bun on the burger did. So it makes me think they are storing the buns in an area with fragrance (air freshener of some sort), or the plastic container the buns are stored in was stored in a room with an air freshener. It's pretty nasty to bite into a burger and taste a chemically crafted bouquet of flowers. I managed to remove the outer layer of both buns, and that got rid of the fragrance and made the burger edible. So, my suggestion for Culver's, and any food business, is to get rid of the stinking artificial fragrance. It's nasty, it's toxic, it tastes terrible, and it sticks to everything, especially plastic and anything that plastic touches. The sad part is, most people live their lives surrounded by fragrance, they can't even taste it when it's in and on their food.

Saturday night dinner at Belle Vie Bistro was very nice! I honestly would give it about 4.5 stars,…read morenot a 5, as that implies perfection. But they are definitely making the effort to deserve respect. First, we were seated promptly and our server was very responsive, so much so that we hadn't even had a moment to peruse the wine menu before she arrived. I would recommend that the servers be trained to bring water and the bread and butter without asking in order to offer the guests a chance to settle in for a moment. (Fresh french bread and good butter, by the way. I don't usually indulge in that, but I had 2 slices.) And if a guest asks to sample a wine, the answer is always "Yes." They are going to order wine, they just don't know if it will be that one. Both my wife and I started with side salads, which were great. Very fresh greens, and dressings that were obviously made in-house and delicious (awesome lemon vinaigrette on the bistro salad and a truly great Caesar dressing.) I should mention that their wine selection is made up of good labels you probably drink regularly, with a few neat additions that are worth a try. My wife ordered the grilled salmon cooked to her preference, and it was served that way. She really liked the lemon sauce with which it was served, along with risotto and al dente veggies including squash, zucchini and carrots (well seasoned.) I had the duck confit, and it too, was very good. Mashed potatoes made in house (again, well seasoned) with the same grilled vegetables. I appreciate many things about this restaurant. Frankly, I don't understand why it wasn't packed. The lighting is nice, the music is just perceptible so as not to be intrusive. The service is very attentive, and the food is really good. The price point is reasonable. The most expensive meal on the menu is about $35, but they offer plenty of great options for less. Having written a brunch review for this restaurant before on Google, I noticed that they take the input from their clients seriously, and I appreciate that. This is a place that is putting in the work, and it shows. I forgot to mention that they have a barista on staff even in the evenings, and pastries that are made by an actual French pastry chef (I indulged in the Croissant Aux Aumandes on our previous visit, and it is absolutely legit.) Parking on the square in Rockwall can be an issue, and Belle Vie is in the middle of the block, so maybe it is somewhat overlooked, but it is definitely worth a visit. I'll be going back pretty soon for the lamb at dinner time. I also want to try their French onion soup and French dip. You should go. You won't be disappointed.
