I've had a Dan burger a couple of times. It's a really good burger place in Garland, almost a hole-in-the-wall, so you can pass it. Their burgers are really good, nice and juicy. Now, if you're in a rush, don't go there. They make their burgers to order, so once you order, it can take up to 20 minutes, maybe even 30, before your burger comes out because they make them fresh. Overall, you have a really good experience there. Great food, delicious. You can always call in to place your order, so when you get there, it will be ready. Double check your order as it's a common thing it seems in this area for people not to pay attention to notes and or your direction when it comes to food - If you add something they seem to remove everything else - REALLY WEIRD. Ordered the Double Trouble with Jalapeños. It was huge! The meat was very tasty, it was not too seasoned. I like heavy seasonings, and the taste was good. The Tater tots were hot and nothing to write home about about. I will say the burger makes up for any shortcomings in the tots. I would definitely recommend and I would reorder too. The ambiance is old school dive burger joint, so nothing fancy, but definitely delicious! We had the plain Jane, the humpty dumpty, and the double trouble. They also have several beverage options, both in bottles and from the fountain! The service was friendly, lots of young workers. Is ketchup free to the restaurant, I don't think so - they pay for it just as they lay for ranch. So why should they attempt to up-charge for ranch? Instead, they created a frustrating experience. A smart business man would know better. Staff was friendly and very courteous. Order at the counter. Food is delivered to the table by staff. Food deliver is slow, but it is being cooked from scratch. Atmosphere needs improvement. This appears to be a former Mexican restaurant that has been repurposed. And it looks that way. I noticed a gentleman sitting alone, waiting. Having been taught not to judge a book by its cover, I approached him and inquired about his name and whether he was hungry. He replied that his name was David and that they were preparing a burger for him. I spoke with one of the employees, Kevin, to determine how I could assist him. Kevin explained that they provide David with a complimentary burger whenever he visits. This knowledge warmed my heart, as it reinforced the existence of kindness in the world. After seeing a lot of high ratings and good reviews, we decided to check it out. Here is the short and sweet. The burger was good but not great. I got the basic Goomba burger with a side of onion rings. My wife ordered a patty melt. Mine was a bit well done. They use a good bun and offer a variety of combinations. It would have given higher ratings in it wasn't so over cooked. The onion rings were not very good at all. Also ordered fried mushrooms. They were good, and came with some fresh house made ranch. Give them extra credit for that. I really hate it if a restaurant serves bottled ranch dressing. In Texas the ranch is #important! So is the iced tea, and this place served some fake tea mix which is an unforgivable sin. I mean come on man! Bottom line, I hope they up their game on the details. In this "Biden train wreck" economy, consumers expect more for their hard earned dollars.
