As we approached to order the woman behind the counter, started exclaiming No! No! No dogs! Explained, this is a service dog. She continued to shake her head exclaiming No No. Must be certified. Presented the service dog certification certificate for the dog to her, she said, No! No Dog! To be honest, I wasn't sure about this place when I pulled into the parking lot. It sits in a strip of shops next to a gas station. They say looks are deceiving and that couldn't be more true. From the outside it makes you wonder about city food inspection scores, but on the inside it's a different impression. The service was friendly and quick. You have a place to sit while you wait. I would not recommend it for a large group. The food is fresh and made to order. You can't beat the price at $11.08 for a full meal with a drink. Give Burger House a try! read more

Food... it's good, but has gotten REALLY pricy. I got a turkey burger which is one of the better ones I've had. $10.34 with $4.00 small tots and no drink. I asked for a cup of water that was poured from a pitcher with out any ice. Tasted like tap faucet. Service... the young lady working the register could really step it up in the customer service department. It's as if she really doesn't want to be there. I enjoy a side of mayo with my tots. When I asked for some, I was quickly told that they do not offer this. Something to do with a health risk... what???? Ever heard of mayo packets?? This establishment used to be a byob. I brought a couple of beers and was surprised when the young no personality lady said, "you can't bring in food or beverages from the outside." I replied, " Since when." She said that there was a sign on the door and asked me to get rid of it. The owner heard everything going on and recognized me as a repeat customer of several times. She said that we could finish, but there was a problem one evening with some very rowdy customers that led to this new decision. Understand.... Ambiance... it's clean. But, there was some really weird piano music playing that seemed associated with a children's video that was playing on the tv. A friend of mine, who happens to be a professional piano player, joined us later and made the comment, " that music is so creepy!" Agreed! When I ordered here they have 2 different sizes of meat which I didn't realize until I paid. The owner didn't ask me what size I wanted and she picked the size which ended up being the larger size. The courtesy and professional thing to do is to ask the customer what size of hamburger I wanted. Don't bother in calling they never answer. read more

My son was intrigued by the name and asked if we could go for lunch. Glad we listened! The kids got grilled cheese and fries, which they loved. I got the veggie burger, which is honestly one of the best veggie burgers I've had in a while. Not dry, didn't fall apart, and had actual veggies inside. My husband got the double jungle (the sweet lady behind the counter warned him it was HUGE - she was right. It was a man vs food situation, but he said it was delicious.) The place is super clean, has adorable retro booths, and super cute decor, that transports you to a calming little retro island. You can tell this place was built with love. Enter Burger Island. I don't know what it is about this place but they have some killer burgers! I get the Island Burger and it is great. The meat is quality, the toppings are fresh. The Big Island is a huge 1/2 pound burger, but the smaller one is 1/4 pound and perfect for me. Last time we ordered, my friend got extra bacon and avocado and there was SO much bacon on it! My friend also enjoys their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I also like their seasoned fries and tater tots, but if you get them to go, I suggest throwing them in an air fryer or the oven for a few minutes when you get back to crisp them up a little bit. read more

My go to spot ! A lowkey joint that has a reputation for having big burgers and some good appetizers . I always get the double deluxe with a side of fries. My stomach is always full and happy once I'm done with this burger. A lot of times I'm not able to finish this burger in one setting and will have to leave it for left overs. Wow, so happy we finally stopped in for lunch at this burger joint. The inside is super groovy. I love the vive and feel of this place. Surprised that they actually have a vegetarian burger option. Not only that but it was the best tasting so far I've had. My husband got a regular burger with mushrooms and jalapeños. He was very happy with his big burger. The meals came with a lot of fries, neither one of us could finish the meal. Also need to add that the staff here was above and beyond friendly. This place has the absolute best burgers. I've been here several times to dine in. I have also carried out. Each time has been a pleasant experience. They are very timely. The normal fries are great. I just tried the chili fries for the first time. Reference the picture. They were very good but a little greasy. This place is law enforcement friendly and Garland officers are here often. The lunch specials are pretty good considering it's fresh burgers. The burger burger in my pic is a pound of meat between two patties and it's still under 7.00. My kiddos and I came to eat burgers after school. My daughter had the chicken strip plate and my son had the bacon burger with jalapeños. They were both tasty. I ordered a kids cheeseburger and it came with fries and a drink. The burgers and fries came out hot but my bottom bun was hard as a rock. It was left in the heater to long. I asked if they can bring me a bun and I would transfer my burger but to not take it to the back and I have trust issues. I asked for a refund for my one burger very nicely cause again.... trust issues!! I would of been happy to get the money back and wait for my kiddos to finish their meals. Instead, The cashier was nice and said ok let me show the cook. The cook which turns out to be the manager apologized and said he will make me a new one right away with a smile on his face. He was nice to come out of the kitchen and offered to make it. I felt more Comfortable when he came to asked me to let him remake it. :) He got it out in a jiffy! This location has a vaguely 1950's theme to it. Order at the counter, take a number and the bring it to your table. Service was friendly and prompt. They have many versions of the standard burger dressed various ways. I went with my all time favorite, bacon and cheese. Three words people, fresh cooked bacon!!! I've had bacon cheeseburgers at just about everyplace that has them, and I can't remember the last time I had bacon right off the griddle.
