Cute restaurant in downtown Rockwall. I just got coffee and a muffin there but both were very good and the lady working there was really nice. I got mine to go but the restaurant was packed and the food looked great. I will definitely be back

    Yummy

Yummy. Great coffee. Great service. Awesome location. This is a croissant sandwich. It usually comes with scrambled eggs, but I asked for over a medium. The croissant was very buttery great place.

Tried this place for the first time yesterday. The service was very slow as far as getting the food out. My husband and I completely finished eating our entree before our son's piece of French toast came out so that was a bit strange. The prices are pretty expensive as well. The food was absolutely delicious though. Everything was exquisite and flavorful. The ham and cheese croissant was amazing, but the French toast was even better! We will definitely be back but would love to see an improvement on kitchen times and menu pricing.

WHAT I ORDERED: Le Parisien Crepe, Creme Brulee Latte, Banana Pudding French Toast PARKING: Shared parking lot, may have to drive around or park a little further INSIDE: A great, casual breakfast spot that's nearby, will have to try their lunch menu. They have different breakfast items that intrigued me. Server was friendly and checked in on the table periodically. THE FOODS/DRINKS: The Le Parisien crepe is a must order. The crepe itself was light with all the fillings and the mornay sauce adding extra flavor. The banana pudding french toast was delicious. It's a heavier dish with how sweet and decadent it was and one that can be shared with the table. Don't skip out on it though, I would just save it for dessert/end of the meal as opposed to having it be your main entree. The creme brulee latte was alright, not my favorite but also not terrible.

Nice eatery that replaced a BBQ biz on the Rockwall Historic Courthouse Square. A number of new eateries have appeared here the past few years, with Zanata and the Bin 103 being the champs followed by Downing Bottles & Bites, the Raman Noodle shop, the venerable Hunan Chinese. Fable & Fire bookstore, bar, coffee counter & restaurants also popular. And there are others on the Rockwall Courthouse Square. Parking around here is the tricky part. Locals have the edge with time & experience. Once you get parked, your entry into Belle is always pleasant, with a very helpful & pleasant staff. I have only had Coffee & a pastry to go, on 3 occasions, but the dining room appears spacious, also a long counter like from the 1950's. Historic Courthouse Square, give the Belle a ring!

We started the day, a brunch, on our wedding anniversary at this restaurant. What a gem of a place! I've been to the South of France, not Paris. It felt like the minute we stepped into the bistro, we were transported to France! The staff was friendly, the food delicious, it was charming and romantic. A good-feeling place. Even though it was a brunch, I ordered French onion soup with a light, flaky puff pastry! Delicious ! My husband order pancakes and bacon. The coffee and capacinno were very good too. The photo is the bakery goods and the other photo is the mural on the wall. All worth the trip from Colorado! Ha, well ok, we were in Texas for the holidays. I think if you live in proximity of Belle Vie Bistro, y'all should make plans to venture to this place. The surrounding area is very nice too with a small town feel. Less expensive than going all the way to France! 10 stars!

Service was awesome. The chicken pesto pasta has been excellent every time. Perfectly cooked (charred but still moist, tender and well seasoned ) every time. The sandwiches are excellent (nice son had turkey panini and I had the French dip). Portions generous. The interior is upscale. Big fan of all pastries and the coffee is great. My Daughter loved the fresh squeezed OJ. Definitely a great spot to go back.

Walking in, the dessert case is filled with tempting items that might make you skip the food. But don't. Everything we ordered was great. Cocktails were good. And yes, we got a few desserts to go.

New little French restaurant right on the square. There are two dining rooms: front main room and a smaller private room in the back. There's also a case full of beautiful pastries and cakes. Service was very quick even on a busy Saturday. The food is excellent. We loved our Quiche Lorraine and Croque Madame. The lattes were delicious too. Of course we had to try a slice of cake, and it was excellent, too.

Great grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and a pickle to die for too!

I've been here usually for weekend brunch but decided to drop in for lunch. My server was really good and made this chicken sandwich recommendation. It did not disappoint! Wow yummy!

We started with the complimentary bread, and the butter served with it was so delicious I wanted to buy some--unfortunately, they don't sell it. For appetizers, my husband ordered the French onion soup, and I chose the escargot. He thoroughly enjoyed the soup. The escargot was enjoyable, though not my personal favorite. I especially liked the foie gras pâté, which was rich, creamy, and flavorful. For the mains, my husband had the beef tenderloin with cognac-black peppercorn sauce and thin French fries. He said the steak was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was exceptional. I ordered the duck breast, which was tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. For dessert, we shared the brandy ice, which was refreshing and similar to a smoothie, and I had the classic crème brûlée, which was a wonderful way to end the meal.

We spent about 2 hours enjoying the offerings of the restaurant. They advertise a minimum of $59 per guest, but unless you frugally navigate the menu and order water I would plan to spend $100-150 per diner to get the full experience . Location: the restaurant is in a very small cottage style "house", which was PERFECT. It had so much character and really was a unique dining experience. We loved the restaurant - and had zero issues with parking. Food (and wine): the food was very good and honestly you get a lot of it. We did French onion soup, scallops, tartare, steak frites, duck, the included salad, and two desserts. Everything was genuinely very well prepared. The only thing we did not enjoy were the scallops, they were seared on one side and honestly just seemed underdone - but we're not scallop experts by any means so take that with a grain of salt. Everything else was very very good. I would highly recommend the steak frites and the duck. We will 100% come back just for the food alone. We let our waitress and the wine expert guide us with a tailored wine paring with each grouping of our dishes. This experience was very well executed - and don't skip the wine room, take a look. Service: the service was good, not amazing. The staff to table ratio felt overwhelmingly in favor of the staff, but the service didn't necessarily directly reflect that. We were celebrating a birthday which was articulated in our reservation but unfortunately that was overlooked but happily accommodated when mentioned. This was prime time on a Saturday and we were in no hurry, so not really a major impact for us. Someone who was a stickler for perfect service on a rather expensive meal might say otherwise. Overall we had a great time, and will certainly be back. Thanks for providing Fort Worth with a taste of France!

What I loved most about this place was how local it was. People were dropping in, and everyone knew each other. We loved it. I highly recommend getting a reservation. We came in and sat at the bar, which wasn't bad, but just a heads up! Bartender/server Russo - AMAZING! This space isn't extremely spacious. They do have an outside, but it was really cold. We started off with a wine flight. Such a lovely poor for a flight, and the price was only 18. My man and I actually shared it. Will easily get this every time. For food - you can't go wrong with anything. I mean anything. We were blown away. We started off with the seared tuna, the sauce was so tasty we dipped our toasted focaccia bread in it. Perfect combination. We couldn't choose between the two pastas so we got both. The lamb gnocchi and ricotta lemon ravioli everything was so perfect. Both great portions, both extremely flavorful. You have to get these. We ended the night with a desert and again, blown away. We got the chocolate mousse and cleaned the bowl. It had little bites of vanilla cake in it, so good. This place is fantastic. We are easily coming back, we need to try the sandwiches!

I spent about two hours here working on business plans with a friend, and it was the ideal environment: peaceful, comfortable, and inspiring. Lavendou Bistro Provincial: A Taste of France Hidden in North Dallas…read more "Some restaurants transport you the moment you walk in. Lavendou is one of those places." Every city has a restaurant that locals quietly treasure, a place you visit again and again because it makes you feel at home and somewhere far away at the same time. For our family, Lavendou Bistro Provincial in Dallas is that place. It is one of my mother-in-law's favorites, which means anytime we are in town, this charming bistro becomes a must-visit. Located in a simple strip mall that does not reflect the magic waiting inside, Lavendou is the definition of a hidden gem. If you drove by without knowing what was there, you might not think twice. But the moment you step through the door, everything changes. The atmosphere shifts, the noise of the parking lot disappears, and you are suddenly surrounded by the warm colors and rustic charm of provincial France. It is the type of restaurant that reminds you why dining can be an experience rather than just a meal. Ambiance and Décor Lavendou has an inviting elegance that never feels stiff or formal. The décor is beautifully curated with hand-screened Pierre Deux fabrics, soft lighting, and touches that reflect the countryside of southern France. It creates a cozy environment that calls to mind long lunches, quiet conversations, and meals meant to be savored. What makes it even more memorable is the way all the elements work together. The space, the service, the food, and even the gentle background music create a sense of transport that very few restaurants achieve. Menu and Drinks Lavendou's menu is rooted in authenticity. The first glance tells you that you are in for an authentic French dining experience. Dishes celebrate the lighter fare of southern France with flavors that are thoughtful, balanced, and beautifully presented. Susan always goes for the lobster bisque, which is rich, silky, and deeply satisfying. My preference leans toward the French onion soup, which was flavorful and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a few more baguette slices to bring even more texture into the dish. It is one of my mother-in-law's favorites, which means anytime we are in town, this charming bistro becomes a must-visit. We never skip the escargots a la bourguignonne, which arrive bubbling in garlic butter with French bread ready to soak up every drop. It is one of those simple pleasures that remind you why classic dishes become classic in the first place. Food Quality For our main courses, Susan ordered the Sole De Deuvers with crabmeat, which she could only describe as outstanding. I selected the Gambas et Coqilles St. Jacques en Mille Feuilles. The presentation was stunning and set my expectations high. While the flavors were excellent, the scallops were a bit chewy and the shrimp slightly overcooked. Knowing the talent in this kitchen and having dined here many times before, I consider this a rare miss and fully expect to give this dish another chance during our next visit. Dessert at Lavendou is an event of its own. The Grand Marnier soufflé is a must order. Light, warm, fragrant, and decadent all at once. We have also enjoyed the chocolate soufflé on prior visits and can confidently say Lavendou excels at ending the meal on a high note. Service Service at Lavendou is exceptional. Friendly, gracious, and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. You can sense the pride the staff takes in the experience they deliver. Owner Pascal Cayet is known for his welcoming presence and dedication to every guest. You feel cared for from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Value and Pricing Lavendou provides a dining experience that feels special from start to finish. Pricing reflects the quality, care, and craft behind every plate. From a value perspective, you receive every bit of what you pay for. This is a place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, or simply a meal with someone who appreciates great food shared in a beautiful setting. Overall Experience Dining at Lavendou is like stepping into a moment of the French countryside without ever leaving North Dallas. It is warm, comforting, elegant, and memorable. The combination of atmosphere, authenticity, and heartfelt hospitality creates a restaurant that stays with you long after the last bite. The Culinary Duo Rating: Lavendou remains one of the very best French dining experiences in the region. If you have not been, this is your sign.
