We had a terrific visit to this great cafe on Royce City's Main Street. It was a busy Sunday morning, but we were seated promptly in this bright, open, super clean family restaurant. The breakfast menu has lots of tasty options--standard cafe fare, with some Mexican breakfast options typical for the area. The service was great! This place is super efficient! They pump out a large quantity of fresh and tasty food impressively fast. Everything we had was hot, well prepared, and delicious! Pancakes are fluffy, the ham was huge, and the eggs on the chorizo skillet were done perfectly! Portions are large and the prices are terrific! What a disappointment! You can tell the kitchen cooks don't care. Third time here. 1st time great, 2nd time ok. 3rd time terrible. Service was fine. Food was gross today. Hash browns tasted like chemicals. Eggs rubber, toast burned, pancakes rubber - last two times they were big a fluffy and powered sugar, today they were thin and rubbery, tiny with no powered sugar. Sausage was not cooked throughout. Bacon was cold as of it's made in a batch and waiting. Royse City do better please! read more

We decided to check out this cute restaurant last night (after sitting at another restaurant across the street for almost 30 minutes without being spoken to or acknowledged). I'm absolutely terrible with names but we had the sweetest waitress, she greeted us with a big smile and took our drink order. Then she promptly took our food order after giving us several recommendations since we'd never been here before. My husband, son, and I all got different cheese burgers. I got the Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger and it was delicious! It comes on Texas Toast, two patties, cheese, and lots of delicious bacon. My son got the kids burger and added bacon to it, listen this 6 year old can be an extremely picky eater, he ate the entire burger and kept saying how good it was. (He's still talking about it today.) My husband ordered a side salad and it came with their homemade ranch (yum!). He also ordered the Fire Burger with no avocado. It was giant and juicy! Went back with my wife. So much food at such a reasonable price! Five stars for the food-to-price ratio. She got the migas and said it was good but the black beans were m'eh, at best. The hash browns were perfectly fried. The French toast was decent. My biggest disappointment was the bacon, which was pretty bland. read more

Great food and service for this Royse City hidden gem! We have never had a bad meal!!!

Came in because we wanted to try some local places, which is always a gamble. The joint's located in an old Pizza Hut building. They did a nice job remodeling the space. The hostess and server were great. Boss Lady ordered the "special" chilequiles and I the huevos rancheros. Her's was good but lacked salt. Had an order of plane crepes, which were just Okay. Mine was really tasty with the pork being crispy and flavored well. Odd thing is that the tortillas were very crispy, like for a tostada. I asked for the hash browns to be extra crispy, which they were. Big problem for us is that they don't have actual creamer nor butter. We're not into highly processed, fake food. Everything was really tasty but if they don't have the real things at the table, what are they using in the kitchen?!?! We'll check back at a later date to see if there's been any change. read more

Almost One Star, Saved by the Manager Came in through the back entrance for breakfast (three of us). The hostess asked us to follow her -- we walked past several empty booths, went all the way to the front entrance, then were seated near the back where we started. Totally unnecessary and a bit chaotic. I ordered steak and eggs with hash browns, plus biscuits and sausage gravy. The food was just okay. The gravy was almost cold, but I had already poured it over my biscuits. I asked for fresh gravy and new biscuits. Almost 10 minutes later -- after my tablemates had already finished eating -- they brought me the same biscuits I had already poured gravy on, just stuck under a heater to warm them up. They were rubbery and inedible. Instead of actually fixing it, they tried to pass off reheated leftovers. Thankfully, the manager came over, was super friendly and apologetic, and got me a fresh, hot plate of biscuits and gravy -- which were actually very good. Giving two stars because of the manager's great service. Otherwise, it would've been one. read more

We tried this little gem today in downtown RC. The service was on point and our server was really nice. I couldn't decide on an option and she recommended the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich without hesitation. It was possibly the best BCS I've ever eaten. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the breading was seasoned well and it was the just the right amount of wing sauce. The bun was also sturdy enough to handle all of the juicy goodness. My parents ordered the Club Sandwich and CFS sandwich, both looked fresh and tasty. The fries were crispy and the fried okra was on point too. The pickle spears were also a nice touch. It seems to me the ingredients used are of good quality which is hard to come by these days. The restaurant is quaint and you certainly won't be disappointed! I ordered a club sandwich to go. First the service was great, but the food & the price not so good. The club sandwich is big, but $20 for a sandwich, about 10 fries and tip is a little much especially when you get sick afterwards. When I was almost done I started getting full so I picked at the sandwich, pulling a piece of turkey then a piece of ham, then I noticed the ham was kind of oily or slimy. I stopped eating the rest, but it was too late. Looks like whoever was in charge of food quality dropped the ball. read more

Our waitress could have been better. She never offered to refill our drinks nor told us that you pay up front. She brought us our food then disappeared for the next 20 minutes.
