Great restaurant in Nevada to go to for a great meal and reasonable price prices! Service always is impeccable and they do a good job to take care of all your needs. I recommended highly! read more

Food: The food was good, but nothing fancy or great to rave about. Service: The service was very friendly and quick! Ambiance: The restaurant reminds me of an old time-y and cozy restaurant. No frills. There was a lot of art work inside the restaurant and it makes you feel like you just walked into your grandma's home! I think this used to be a "general store" based on Google Maps, but there is no store inside this restaurant. read more

DENIED a sit down meal from blonde waitress because I had a service dog. I informed the waitress about my disability and assistance dog and she asked where the dog's vest is. Service dogs in Texas do NOT legally have to wear vests, but the waitress told me "in here they do", gave me a weird look, and made me order to go instead. read more

Exactly what I expected. 'Nuff said If you like hometown Cafes that embrace friendly service and simplicity, this is it. I will bring my parents next time they visit read more

The service was helpful and timely, great attitude.Food was presented well and cooked just to order.

One of if not the best Chicken Fried Steak sandwich I've had! The steak was perfect without an over abundance of breading and was larger than the bun! Even during lunch service was quick and spot on. Just a down home looking place on the inside but clean with tables well spaced. Only drawback is they close at 2pm so it's just breakfast and lunch! We'll be there again! If you anywhere near Nevada Texas you gotta drop in! read more

My daughter and Son in love moved to Josephine about a year ago and we love trying new places when we visit. We stopped in for lunch and the 4 of us ordered their Chicken Fried steak sandwiches, 2 had fries,1 had tots and I ordered their onion rings as sides. Their CFS sandwiches are hands above any DQ Dude!!! We all give this CFS a 10 star rating!!! read more

Really great place. One of the only places in the area to eat and we were not disappointed! Friendly servers and very clean. Loved the old signs on the wall. I had the brunch burger and was very pleased. Prices were not bad either. I would definitely go back. read more

Yummy food, great service, and it has a relaxing/nostalgic diner feel. I wish they had more gluten free options, and if your wanting their famous biscuits try to be there before 10 am! They go fast. Amazing people honestly, it's worth the visit read more

I have been to this place several times in the past few years, and it NEVER disappoints! I always get the #1 which is FANTASTIC! Watkins Cafe - Cafes Near Me - Nevada, Texas

Service was very prompt and accommodating. We were on a very tight schedule and they went out of their way to help us. Food was very good. We'll be back soon when we are not in a rush. read more

We have been here numerous times from its first opening. The "store" has changed hands a couple of times, now called "Watkins Cafe", or call it WATKINS there is no store in there any more. The "cooks" are right on point every time. We've not been disappointed by any of the ladies waiting on us. FRESH, reasonable servings, reasonable to fast serving. Cannot say enough about how we like going there. Parking is a little compact, and limited. Good little spot. Home style cookin fried n grilled, over easy, don't tell yo mama! read more

Great little place for breakfast or lunch. Friendly staff! Make sure you get there early for the biscuits!!!

Great small town country breakfast with lots of options to pick from, Very good food and good customer service. Usually busy but worth the wait read more

We just driving around on a Sunday afternoon and saw this place. We walked in and the folks were friendly. My husband asked the neighboring table what he should try and they said the chicken fried steak with eggs. I wasn't too hungry so I chose the Frito pie, which came with cheese a dollup of sour cream. The huge chicken fried steak was ordered with 2 sunny side up eggs and a side of homemade thin layered crunchy hash browns. We will definitely be back! read more

The people here are awesome, and the food is good. Not outstanding, but good. They are a little stingy with the sides (fries and onion rings) but in all honesty it doesn't hurt to save me the calories. Ha! I really like the burgers here, they are quick and inexpensive (as is most of the menu). When I order a burger I get a single or a double depending on how hungry I am and add bacon/cheese/jalapenos. The breakfast is decent too, pretty similar to waffle house but with friendlier staff and no need to drive to Rockwall or wait in line. The store on the other hand is VERY convenient. I wish they were open a little later but for the only store/restaurant in Nevada you can't really ask for much more. This place is really for the locals, but if you're in the area and need some snacks or a bite to eat they will be more than happy to accommodate you. read more

Absolutely amazing, down-home, southern style breakfast! Super friendly staff! April was a doll and we both could have talked each other's heads off all day! A hidden gem out here in the country! Even told my friends in the city it's worth the drive out here bc you can't get anything like it in North Dallas! All the goofy sayings on the wall were great! One of my favorite little features about this place! read more

I ate breakfast here. I ordered over medium eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The eggs were over easy and runny. The hash browns were cooked just beyond raw. Good hash browns need some crispness , these had none. The biscuit was okay but I'm not convinced it wasn't from a can. I expected more than what it was. The only thing I liked was the service. The server was attentive and nice. read more

Great breakfast options. Good service. The name of the building is misleading. Located near downtown on FM road 1138.

The thing is, I was expecting home style country cooking which wasn't the case so that was a bit of a let down. But the serve was good and being able to support a small town business is even better. if in the area we'd stop in if we were hungry. read more

This little country restaurant is a diamond in the rough. It is no frills on the outside and very quaint on the inside. Food is delicious and service treats you like family not just a patron. The bacon is best I've had anywhere. This small mom and pop cafe is awesome! read more

Waited over an hour after ordering for our food to make it to the table and ended up with runny over easy eggs and cold overcooked bacon. Nice people working there but the food wasn't that great for having to sit there drinking bottomless glasses of iced tea staring at the other people also waiting for their food to get to them. There are other places around with better food and service to be spending my time being hungry and annoyed read more

I usually do not give ONLY 2 stars, however I just had a very unpleasant experience. We ordered eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, bacon, and sausage. We were told they do not make pancakes, on a Sunday? Okay whatever no big deal, we get a extra waffle. The food comes out, the waffles are cold. We ask them to just take them back we do not want them at this point. After eating off the other plate with eggs hash browns and bacon, we discovered 3 hairs on the plate...3... we told them and they just took the plate took it off our tab and brought us our ticket.. they did not address the fact they had 3 nasty black hairs on the plate.. however the hash browns, sausage, bacon were pretty good. Lol wouldn't recommend this to place although it used to be so good :( read more
