One of if not the best Chicken Fried Steak sandwich I've had! The steak was perfect without an over abundance of breading and was larger than the bun! Even during lunch service was quick and spot on. Just a down home looking place on the inside but clean with tables well spaced. Only drawback is they close at 2pm so it's just breakfast and lunch! We'll be there again! My daughter and Son in love moved to Josephine about a year ago and we love trying new places when we visit. We stopped in for lunch and the 4 of us ordered their Chicken Fried steak sandwiches, 2 had fries,1 had tots and I ordered their onion rings as sides. We have been here numerous times from its first opening. The "store" has changed hands a couple of times, now called "Watkins Cafe", or call it WATKINS there is no store in there any more. The "cooks" are right on point every time. We've not been disappointed by any of the ladies waiting on us. FRESH, reasonable servings, reasonable to fast serving. We just driving around on a Sunday afternoon and saw this place. We walked in and the folks were friendly. My husband asked the neighboring table what he should try and they said the chicken fried steak with eggs. I wasn't too hungry so I chose the Frito pie, which came with cheese a dollup of sour cream. The huge chicken fried steak was ordered with 2 sunny side up eggs and a side of homemade thin layered crunchy hash browns. We will definitely be back! read more

The people here are awesome, and the food is good. Not outstanding, but good. They are a little stingy with the sides (fries and onion rings) but in all honesty it doesn't hurt to save me the calories. Ha! I really like the burgers here, they are quick and inexpensive (as is most of the menu). When I order a burger I get a single or a double depending on how hungry I am and add bacon/cheese/jalapenos. The breakfast is decent too, pretty similar to waffle house but with friendlier staff and no need to drive to Rockwall or wait in line. The store on the other hand is VERY convenient. I wish they were open a little later but for the only store/restaurant in Nevada you can't really ask for much more. This place is really for the locals, but if you're in the area and need some snacks or a bite to eat they will be more than happy to accommodate you. read more

I ate breakfast here. I ordered over medium eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The eggs were over easy and runny. The hash browns were cooked just beyond raw. Good hash browns need some crispness , these had none. The biscuit was okay but I'm not convinced it wasn't from a can. I expected more than what it was. The only thing I liked was the service. Waited over an hour after ordering for our food to make it to the table and ended up with runny over easy eggs and cold overcooked bacon. Nice people working there but the food wasn't that great for having to sit there drinking bottomless glasses of iced tea staring at the other people also waiting for their food to get to them. I usually do not give ONLY 2 stars, however I just had a very unpleasant experience. We ordered eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, bacon, and sausage. We were told they do not make pancakes, on a Sunday? Okay whatever no big deal, we get a extra waffle. The food comes out, the waffles are cold. We ask them to just take them back we do not want them at this point. After eating off the other plate with eggs hash browns and bacon, we discovered 3 hairs on the plate...3... we told them and they just took the plate took it off our tab and brought us our ticket.. they did not address the fact they had 3 nasty black hairs on the plate.. however the hash browns, sausage, bacon were pretty good. Lol wouldn't recommend this to place although it used to be so good :( read more
