Donut Palace is a small, unassuming donut shop somewhat off the beaten path in Greenville. Luckily for me, it's about a 3 minute drive from my house and is well worth coming back to. I've stopped by twice so far, and service has been quick and pleasant. They have all of your standard donuts, as well as kolaches and breakfast sandwiches. For me, the apple fritter is their standout. At only $2, it's large, crispy, cooked through, and pleasantly sweet. The cinnamon roll is subtly sweet and had the slightest crunch on its crust, quite tasty. The Bavarian cream also has a subtle crisp crust and is filled with a nicely-textured, not too thick sweet cream. Other than those, their old fashioned donuts are their best donuts to me. They have a good crunch on their exteriors and are soft and moist inside. I'd classify their standard cake and glazed donuts as good, solid donuts. Prices are reasonable. On my last visit, I bought a half dozen, an apple fritter, and a sausage kolache for $14 and change. When I go in the future, I'll focus on the standouts. Pretty much an El Centro staple when it comes to the sweet tea, Cheetos, Tostitos, churritos, cherry Sprite, jamaica, and horchata. And of course, you can't forget the donuts. This place is usually inundated with junior high and high school students who drop by to grab drinks and snacks. There is a makeshift drive-thru near the front entrance of this place so you can order from you car and grab your stuff and be on your way. We read a review on Yelp for them so we decided to try them out. The donuts were light and tasty. The apple fritter was delicious. The kolaches were more like what I would call pigs-in-a-blanket. Don't get me wrong, the breading was soft and delicious and the jalapeño hotdog had good flavor but just not what I was looking forward to. They have a croissant with your choice of bacon or sausage, and then egg and cheese. It too tasted very good. The croissant breakfast sandwich was probably my favorite. I have been looking for a good donut shop since we left California and moved out here. These are not gourmet donuts but they do the best with the classics. They also make delicious croissant sandwiches with thick cut slab bacon. The apple fritters are the best in town, and the place itself looks very clean and we'll maintained.
