MOLDY KOLACHES! I paid full price ($9 for 3!!!) for moldy bread wrapped around dry sausage. Picked up an order of kolaches at 9am on a Friday morning. Figured I was getting fresh donuts until I got home and felt hard, several-day-old kolaches. Found mold underneath one of the kolaches. Very frustrating that they sell not just one-day-old donuts, but several-day-old donuts (how many days does it take for mold to grow on bread?). Wish I would've taken a pic, but I was so grossed out and mad that they have such poor business practice selling gross food at full price to unsuspecting victims. Great for kids! Donuts are amazing. They also have some beignets, which are hard to find in the area. I recommend the beignets and the frosted donuts. I will say the danish was stale. I don't know if it was a fluke but something that could definitely be worked on. I personally think it's better not to have something than to serve something that belongs in the trash. read more

Literally walked in and was hit with a strong sewage smell. After standing in line for a few moments I started looking around at all the clutter, filth, and grime and turned around to walk right back out. Couldn't even bring myself to order anything. Their donut was like cotton candy melting in my mouth. Fresh, pillowy, sugar deliciousness. We went by Saturday at around 11 and there was still a good assortment. Especially loved their twisty cinnamon donut. Don't know why their donuts taste so good, or why they taste better than the other donut shops in the area but they are just so delicious. I rarely eat two in one day and I ate two...just figured I'd stay on the elliptical a little longer. :) read more

A 2 star review for a donut place? Absurd right? Well actually I've always loved this place 5 stars no doubt. Donuts have always been super good but, Today it's a matter of not having the super good donuts. I'm guessing these are new owners.Whatever the case I went into Cajun donuts at 8:30 on Saturday morning to get at least one dozen glazed doughnut to take to a hospital for the staff that had been treating my wife. They had 0 glaze donuts 0 chocolate donuts and just a sprinkling of other donuts. I was told that they sell out early. Lol. It's Saturday at 8:30 AM, how early do I need to go to get a glaze doughnut from you? I mean, glazed and chocolate glazed donuts are the staple of a donut shop. I would think you would have plenty on deck even as late as 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday. Parking is a pain in the butt and all it did was delay my arrival time for absolutely 0 reward. Beignets were pretty good, was fresh to order. The strawberry shortcake donuts were absolutely delicious! They glazed donuts were okay but service was very good. There was even a small area for kids to play with toys inside. Will definitely be back. read more

Hands down my favorite donut shop. I'm a Krispy Kreme kinda gal but I love the locally owned donut shops (those little mom and pop Korean-owned ones) and Cajun Donuts by FARRR is the best one! I stumbled upon this making my trek out to work on the east side and thought "Cajun...donuts?" Ah, they're a family from Louisiana. They DO have beignets! Their plain glazed donuts have the best light, airy texture with just the right amount of glaze. The absolute perfect glazed donuts - THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. I go out of my way for these donuts. I mean there's a donut shop on every corner it seems like but I'll make the 20+ minute drive to come to this one. I love the croissant kolaches! They also offer jalapeño sausage/hot dog rolls that go from mild, medium, spicy to extra spicy. The extra spicy wasn't spicy to me but I liked that there were options. Their strawberry shortcake doughnut was decent and at least saved the day because I was only going to grab the beignets to bring to work and decided to do both. Literately the worst donut shop I've ever eaten at. $16 for a chocolate twist, 1 jalapeño kolaches and 4 mini kolaches. Now the price was a little over most other donut shops, but i still got them because I wanted donuts and it didn't both me too much.... Until we had a bite. You could taste the month old fry oil on the donut, my girlfriend couldn't even swallow, she had to spit and that's not usually her game of you know what I mean. Visited this donut shop last weekend and found the donuts to be good, not exceptional, but good. We went there specifically to try the beignets but they were sold out )c; Not sure that this is usually the case, but the suggestion we received was to call ahead to verify they haven't sold out and they can also start making them if you want so that they are ready upon arrival (they are made to order). Also, fyi they do not serve them after 11am - at least on Saturdays. Donuts were light, fluffy and very tasty (c; We sampled the cake donuts, glazed donuts and cinnamon roll. All very good and not overly sweet like Kripy Kreme. Nice balance of glaze to donut! The customer service was excellent. The young girl at the counter was very nice and provided wonderful service. What appeared to be one of the owners also asked how everything was, which is a nice touch. This shop is not close to me but I will probably venture back again in order to try the highly recommended beignets - but I will be sure to call first! read more

I love this place! I take my daughter here all the time, for a before school donut date, or a Saturday breakfast. The staff is SO friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. I would love to give this donut shop a better rating but they are just WAY overpriced. I went in the other day to buy 3 or 4 things and was told the order wasn't big enough to use my debit card. With all the competition in the area that seems a little ridiculous to me. They are also the only shop in the area, and I have been to many, they doesn't give you a donut hole or two on the house. Must need to pay for that huge building they're in, however, if they keep providing that kind of customer service they won't be in business for long. After leaving their shop, I drove a mile down the road and bought some delicious donuts for half the cost and used my debit card. Get it together Cajun Donuts. Your donuts are good but you're not the only game in town! Update: Went again to give the new ownership a whirl. The donuts were delicious and the prices seemed fair. I read the other reviews yesterday and gave this place a try that morning. Definitely found myself a new donut shop. The regular glazed donuts are fluffy and slightly chewy, love that texture. Got a few croissant sausages, pigs in blankets, and jalapeno pigs in blanket. The jalapeno one is a keeper. The rest were good too, family made sure no piggies were left behind. Wished they had Oak Farms milk, it goes down crisp compared to Borden. Owner, if you're reading this *winkwink* get that milk! xD read more

There aren't too many donut shops I like. I like fluffy donuts with flavor... most places are a bit heavy with grease or have no flavor... This can't be said of Cajun! I asked for an eclair, and they took the donut away and filled it FULL of yummy flavoring! The fritters are great!!! The donut was fluffy and had wonderful chocolate cream on top. Recently moved to Wylie. We've been trying out the local joints. Saddened by the loss of our favorite donut shop, a friend recommended this place. We were told they had the very best donuts. I eagerly arrived this morning and picked up a dozen donuts and some kolaches for my wife. The donuts were by far the nastiest I've ever had. Not even my 3 kids would eat them. They had a distinct 'old grease' taste to them; the likes I've never experienced before. I thought I'd had some 'meh' donuts in the past, but these were downright gross. In fairness, I did up them a star because my wife said the kolaches were good and a worthy replacement for our old shop. The donuts however were trashed. This is, hands down, the best donut shop in Wylie! The cleanliness of the store is the first thing I noticed on my first visit. Then the donut case! The selection of donuts is very impressive. But then, when I was greeted and served by the employees I noticed the most endearing quality of this donut shop and that is the customer service! Treated with kindness and courtesy. Their donuts are of great quality and seem to be a little bigger than your average donut shop would have to offer. They have the staples, of course, but they also had a tray of specialty donuts (you know the type with bacon on top, or crushed candy bars, or cereal etc) They also have excellent kolaches! But above and beyond that they have croissant breakfast sandwiches, excellent breakfast burritos, they have a new boudin kolaches and they also offer beignets(I mean it is called Cajun Donuts) I've been the first customer of the day and I've been there later in the morning and they have always had a great selection. I've asked for special orders on the spot and have never been made to feel as a bother. I wish me and my family didn't actually like this donut shop as much as we do because then I wouldn't be so tempted to go back every other week or so, hahahaha! read more
