Went to Luke's for breakfast yesterday. Our son highly recommended it. It is in downtown Greenville. It's a neat place. We were greeted and seated right away by staff. Our server was friendly and personable. We ordered the Chilaquiles, Peepaw's Plate (3 eggs, bacon, potatoes & a biscuit) & Country Fried Steak. My husband and son were happy with their selections (Peepaw's Plate & Country Fried Streak), but I didn't like mine (Chilaquiles). It was a bit dry and I didn't find much chorizo in it. We all loved Mom's Biscuits w/ honey butter & jam. My husband had black coffee, and my son had the Strawberry Mule. I had to go next door for a Caramel Latte. Luke's doesn't have specialty coffee drinks. The restaurant was bright, clean, and lovely. The walls had exposed bricks with Texas Americana decorations. We'll definitely return, but I'll skip the Chilaquiles. read more

Yea Greenville!!! Great breakfast place here. (I'll be trying lunch soon.) Mom and I stopped in because we heard there was good things going on here. She had an omelette with potatoes and she said it was great! A side of peppered bacon made her a happy lady. I tried the Jim's SOS and it was fantastic. A side of cheesy grits made my day. The set up is really cute. And the waitress was very friendly and efficient. The wait time was just right for visiting. I have to say the only thing to think about, bring a sweater in the mornings if you are there early. It was a little chilly inside. ;) read more

The food was really good and flavorful. The biscuits and gravy were delicious but not super warm when they arrived but I let our server know and they warmed them for me. OH. MY. GOODNESS. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal this much! Everything was delicious. The staff were welcoming and handled the lunch rush without missing a beat. Do yourself a favor and order the biscuits, they're mouthwatering! My omelette and home fries were perfect. I'll be back for family meals or a lunch break as soon as possible. Found on internet. Knew Easter Sunday would be busy so decided to try. Fairly new. Great location. Clean and nicely decorated. Greeted as soon as we walked in. Breakfast menu not large but something for everyone I would say. They do have a kids menu. My eggs were cold perfectly. Best I've had in a long time. I do recommend the biscuits with honey butter. Chicken fried steak was large and came with home fries . We will definitely go back. Next time maybe to try lunch or dinner. Delicious, the food was fantastic. Chicken and Waffles were so tasty. The crust on the chicken was crunchy and the flavor was full. Waffles are crisp and light full of flavor. Luke's is just what downtown Greenville needs. In fact we are very excited to have this growth. We went for breakfast with our two kids and we really loved the kids menu. The PB&J is on simple Texas toast bread and peanut butter and jelly. No bells. No whistles. And if you know kids this sometimes is perfection! As it was for our 5 year old. Our 2 year old had the kids pancakes and it was very good. One suggestion, we would have rather 2-3 small pancakes instead of 1 large. It was very hard for her to navigate. Chicken and waffles were good but needed spice. Hot honey would have been really nice but the waffle flavor and chicken was very good. Make your own omelettes are simple but perfect for a diner. Everything is new inside and love the use of the buildings charm. Very Prairie Coffee esk which we love. Also use of prairie coffee for their coffee is a smart idea. Staffing needs some work, but employees are new so it's understandable. Didn't bother us but our omelette had incorrect ingredients. We were told the kids breakfasts came with a cup of fruit and they did not. We were served a pile of fries instead. The kids really enjoyed it but we had a lot of food waste since the portions were enormous for kids meals. Side of sausage was very very good. Recommended. Bathrooms are spotless! I don't like writing bad reviews but this establishments service has gotten progressively worse since it opened. I will say that the food is decent but priced a little on the high end. This last visit my wife and I were seated and sat for 15 minutes without any acknowledgment at all. No drink order. Nothing. The restaurant was not busy but not empty either. A waitress did walk by our table twice while serving other patrons but didn't stop by our table or the table next to us. We will not be back. read more

This was our first time trying this place. The interior was super cute. When we walked in the vibe wasn't that friendly. It wasn't really busy but we still had to wait for the host to clean a table. It took some time for our waitress to acknowledge us. She walked by us a few times. Service was definitely lacking in my opinion. Our biscuits were cold when we received them. We ordered the chicken fried chicken and it had a really flavorful taste it was very good and so were the mash potatoes. Our food was lukewarm warm. Southern fare with a flair. I've been a few times and they've been very accommodating, from letting me order a pancake off the kids' menu to subbing chicken for ham on an omelette. First visit experience. Here for breakfast, was greeted immediately by very friendly hosts. Waitress came right over with menu and asked for drink order. Return quickly and took order. Food came out in regular time expected. Wife ordered the French toast and sausage patties. I had the chicken fried chicken plate. French toast was very good, and sausage patties were Big. My chicken was hand breaded and crunchy outside and juicy inside, potatoes seasoned nicely and crisp, scrambled eggs nicely done. The food was great as well as the service. The place is very clean and open design. Prices are the new average, but the portions are good size and flavor is great! We'll be back for sure. read more

Ordered the chicken fried steak and Smashburger. Home fries and french fries were well seasoned and cooked well. The chicken fried steak was overcooked. Gravy was very tasty. The Smashburger wasn't really smashed. It appeared that it was just your basic burger with onions and cheese. It was very undercooked. It wasnt a thin patty like a smash burger should be. Had I known that I needed to say how to cook my patty I would have done so. Instead, I got a undercooked hamburger meat patty that I did not eat. I did not get the bread and butter pickles that was supposed to come with it either. $50 for a hamburger and french fries and a chicken fried steak with home fries. Not a deal. Not worth it. We were a group of eight and I think five of them ordered omelettes, one pancakes, one a burger and I ordered migas. Every migas I ever ordered had eggs as the main ingredient with add-ons of tortilla strips, peppers, onions, tomatoes, etc. This had mainly tortilla strips and it would have taken a spy glass to spot any egg. All this for $13. I know there is an eggs shortage, but the other patrons got real omelettes. As to service, it was slow, but in their defense, they had just seated another large party before us. The place was kind of noisy, but the surroundings were industrial/shabby chic in a good way. I will go back but I won't order the migas. read more

First time we ate there, not busy at all. We had a new waiter first day going, Order Waffles which were fabulous, although asking if could just order 1 and stated couldn't, so asked for the kids pancake meal being on a diet and was told he couldn't do that, so ordered side of sausage that was disgusting and not cooked very bright pink inside brought it to the waiters attention and this is after waiting for server after 45 minutes and no refills on drinks, and he politely asked if we would like the check.
