Had lunch at Brothers Cafe in Greenville the other day and I'm still talking about it with friends!…read moreThe place is inside a neat old historic building with a few popup shops to look around in, which gives it a lot of character you don't usually get at a restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful, walking us through the menu and checking on us without hovering. It's a comfortable, easygoing spot, and the prices are fair for how much food you get. But the food is the main reason to go. The chicken fried steak is the standout, freshly battered and cooked just right with a thick country gravy on top, and the burgers are juicy with fresh toppings. They also have some Indian and Nepali dishes, and the momo dumplings are really tasty if you want to try something a little different! Don't wait, just come in and get ready for great food!

The portions were generous, the prices very affordable, and the food was absolutely delicious and made to order. I really like the concept of having small shops located within the restaurant area. However, it's a bit frustrating that they always seem to be closed whenever we visit--not the restaurant's fault, but still a bit of a letdown. Inside, there's a mix of booth seating, tables, and bar seating. I also noticed they offer a daily happy hour and lunch specials, which is a nice touch.

Here's what I ordered; chicken strips, baby carrots, steamed broccolis, and some home-cut French fries to replace the standard-issue salad it comes with on the menu. The order came with the ranch dressing for the broccolis and the gravy for the chicken tenders. So those are pluses for my order. Here's where it goes down south; The chicken tenders tasted okay, a bit dry and it was in the same fryer as the catfish with the cornmeal batter. I'd suggest using a different fryer for the chicken ONLY. The saving grace is the gravy which tasted quite good with a good note of black pepper on it! The baby carrots were a bit of a turnoff for me! It's pretty soft, almost to the point of being mushy, and tasted a bit spoiled! That is NOT what I want on my carrots! I wanted freshly cooked and buttery baby carrots, not this mushy junk... The broccolis were steamed okay. It wasn't fork-tender, but it wasn't crunchy at all. Personally, I'd prefer it freshly steamed until fork-tender. That is my kind of steamed broccolis! Another saving grace is the ranch dressing which tasted quite good and paired will with the broccolis! The main, and INFURIATING, part is when they forgot my home-cut French fries as a replacement for my salad!!! I was so upset that I didn't even want the fries when asked. I said to let them keep the fries, because I don't care and wanted them to learn the lesson on what the customers ACTUALLY ordered. I was waiting the WHOLE TIME on my fries while eating my dinner to the point when I was just "FORGET IT! Keep the da&n fries!" The man wearing jeans, a light red motorcycle shirt, glasses on, and a light grey beret cap, he brought out my order and did NOT bring out my fries! I fully expect the food to be better and taste the same as the old Redneck Cafe. Also I expect the bar/grill to hire more servers, because that place was running on two of them the whole time I was there!

My family really wanted to like this place because the other 2 locations are awesome but idk about this one. We waited over 5 min in an empty dining room to get just are drinks ordered then 5 min later a different waitress came to take our order only problem was we never got menus and our soda order was even wrong. This place has gotten food orders wrong drink orders wrong and then they never come by to check on u so u never have an opportunity to correct them. Maybe higher people that don't live around the lake because it just seams that they can't get anything right.

The fries were hot and crispy. They didn't ask how I wanted my burger cooked, which is the only let down. He had wicked grilled chicken sandwich and it was overall good. But not hot. And the chicken was pounded out really flat, which was the let down. Onion rings are really just extremely thin onions in a thick batter. Good crisp and flavor if that's the kind of onion ring you want. Menu was huge. Looking forward to going back and trying something else. Service was pretty good. Didn't catch her name though. I get annoyed that I don't have the opportunity to check that I was charged correctly. That being said, I was.
