I stumbled across this spot after the holiday weekend while looking for a healthy restaurant option since the past week had been spent eating more than a month's worth of calories. Upon entering, they weren't busy at all, but no one was at the host stand so we meandered by as it did not seem as though anyone was coming. Once we made it halfway to the bar, the host came out and found us a table. The menu had a great variety of options without being overwhelming. Once our waitress came by, she was so sweet and ensured we were making the right selection for what we wanted! We ordered the chicken power bowl and gyro power bowl both of which were filling and flavorful. My only note would be that the harissa was more like ketchup & would've loved to see a little more kick added. All in all, a great spot to swing by for a quick lunch or to watch a game! read more

Ok! What a hidden gem this place is! From the moment you walk in and catch the cool bar vibe to the moment you're seated, you're greeted by the amazing smell of all things Greek--and it's incredible. The menu made it hard to choose (everything sounded so good!), but I finally landed on the Theo Platter--and wow. The gyro meat was perfectly seasoned, the sausage had a nice kick, and the beans and rice were delicious. But the hummus stole the show! I'll definitely be getting more of that next time. I really wanted to try the frozen Greek marg, but turns out they don't offer it anymore (so... why is it still being advertised? ). I pivoted to my second choice, the frozen marg--but nope, not available either. Ended up with a margarita on the rocks, which was tasty, but still--menu update, please? Didn't spot a Happy Hour menu, and the parking lot layout is a little awkward. That said, the staff was super helpful, the food was AHHHHMAZING, and the vibe was totally hip. Needed a place for lunch while traveling by myself through Rockwall. Greek sounded good and this place had good reviews. I don't drink alcohol so I can't report on the Taphouse part but everything else was great! My waitress was a little hard to hear as she was soft spoken but was courteous and helpful. I ordered the chicken wrap gyro with falafel on the side. The falafel had a very strong cumin flavor which wasn't my favorite but I still ate them all so there's that. The chicken gyro was fantastic... that sauce just makes it amazing! I loved the unique plates, bowls, and the prettiest blue and white cloth napkins. The restaurant had a taphouse look to it mixed with breezy Mediterranean decor. A fun visit! read more

We discovered Onassis on our annual work trip to Greenville. We killed it so much last night we stopped again for lunch today. Is a healthy and welcome change from most other offerings in the area. The food was delicious and fresh. It waitress Kris Kringle was friendly, attentive and helpful explaining menu options. Tim the GM obviously takes pride in the food, drink and service and truly wants his customers to have a great Greek food experience. Give it a shot! Arrived on a Saturday around 2pm Sat on patio because it was absolutely gorgeous outside. Got sampler spread for our appetizer. We got double hummus, and tzatziki. With a order of pita bread for dipping. It was delicious as always. Hubby got lamp gyro and I ended up getting spinach spitaki. It was delicious! Enjoyed sitting out on the patio, soaking up some sun. Our only problem was there was two servers for the whole restaurant. They had 6-8 tables on the inside, and three tablets on the patio. Definitely stretched thin. Had to ask for several things during our meal. The server came to give us our check, and apologized for not getting back to us.They were doing their best to accommodate everyone. Might suggest as the weather gets warmer to have more white staff available. Been here many a time and never had this issue. Felt bad for the servers. read more

This was a nice discovery in Rockwall. The owner stopped by as we finished to check on things. He told me everything on the menu is authentic to Italy or Greece, made from scratch in the kitchen with farm to table ingredients. You can't beat this. One of our usual spots when my husband and I are craving Greek food -- and honestly, it never misses. We almost always get the same two items: the trio spread and the chicken/original gyro platter. They're our absolute favorites and hands-down the best on the menu (in our opinion!). The service is always on point -- friendly, quick, and consistent. Chose this restaurant based on its glowing reviews and the place left me impressed for sure. A good collection of drinks - cocktails, Greek beers and wines. Tried the Fix Hellas Premium Lager Beer and highly recommend it. Every food item on the menu looked appetizing. Decided to try the falafel and the Avgolemono Soup. The falafel is great but the creamy lemon rice soup was exquisite. Definitely give it a try. For the main course, it was an easy choice to pick the platter so we could try a lil bit of everything. The gyro and sausage were good but I would probably try the salads the next time I'm here. The flaming cheese that another table ordered was a nice display of fire and show. Choice of desserts are tough - tried the homemade buttermilk pie, which is a must try. Did not care much for the Greek Pie. Service was fast and efficient. The owner was checking in with guests to ensure they had a pleasant meal, which speaks to the top notch food and service. The ambiance of the restaurant is great - they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking is available and getting a table was not tough on a week day evening. Went here with a friend a while ago for the first time and I definitely enjoyed what I ordered. Got the Chicken Souvlaki Platter and for dessert, got the Baklava Cheesecake. The chicken souvlaki platter comes with fresh pita bread, two skewers of marinated chicken breast, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, tzatziki and your choice of two sides. I decided to get rice and broccoli. The chicken was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The baklava cheesecake was amazing! It's double layered cheesecake and baklava drizzled with honey and topped with spiced, crushed walnuts. Customer service was great and overall, it's a pretty good spot. read more

My wife and I ordered the Mahi mahi and it turned out the fish appeared fleshy and not completely cooked, so we couldn't eat any more of it. The manager looked and agreed with us, so he offered 50% off the dish. Although the manager was kind and agreed, a smart manager would have said they would not charge us for the dish. We've eaten there many times over the last 3 years, but knowing the risk of parasites and the possibilities of getting sick from uncooked fish should have motivated the manager to say the entree would be removed completely from the bill. For this reason Onassis has lost two loyal customers. I hope and pray the manager will ensure the cooks check the fish before it's taken to the patron(s) and won't make that mistake of charging any portion of a dish that could cause sickness due to being uncooked and fleshy in the future. read more

My wife and toddlers love this place. Greek food can be hit or miss, and Onassis has some of the best in the whole area! The tsaziki (and other dips) appetizers with pita and veggies are amazing. Great place, I was here on opening day, and had not stopped by in over a year. Facility looks awesome, clean, and tidy. Staff was pleasant & helpful. I spent the morning out in 104° heat documenting the struggle that Great Egrets were having as this heat wave was shrinking the lake that they fish. Some of the birds were chasing lizards in the grass since fish were staying in deeper water. I took a break in a Starbucks, drinking a refresher, cooling down. As I started driving again, I was getting hungry, very! So, looking around, I made a turn that put me here at Onassis! Greek Salad, nice cold & crisp greens, and ice water. Big salad for the price! Then, I added a small Avgolemono soup, to get a contrast flavor to the salad. Lemony zest, and this meal restored my soul. Thank you! read more

Well, we thought we had found our Greek restaurant in the area and had ordered from Onassis three times in the past month. Always had great food. But tonight's order unfortunately will be the last. We ordered two gyro platters and as you can see from the picture the meat was awful! I can only assume that they carved it off the vertical roaster after it had been sitting for hours. Burnt and dry. Both plates. We had to pick thru the "this is decent" pieces to make half a meal. My wife, who takes her steak medium well, even looked at me and commented on how dry and burnt the meat was. Extremely disappointed. In fairness they do have good hummus and top notch fries. But I don't spend $60 on delivery for fries. read more

Service started out rocky when we walked in and were not acknowledged. There was an employee standing right next to us speaking to a table and did not even say "one moment, I'll be right with you," just completely ignored us until another server noticed us and came right over. I'm not certain if the person who served us was a server, manager, owner but initially the service after we were sat was fine. The food was very good. The problem is we ordered ONE to go meal and later found out (after arriving home) that we received two meals with a charge for the additional meal that we did not order ($30 fish). Upon calling to speak with an employee to reconcile the mistake, we were met with "oh no you definitely ordered two meals." We were only ordering for one person so no need for two. This could have been avoided had he actually written something down instead of trying to commit to memory. They have offered no solution to this issue and have not accepted blame and this is not the type of establishment we wish to support. read more

This was a pleasant surprise. I had the chicken pita wrap with the roasted potatoes. The sauce was amazing and the potatoes caught me completely off guard. You get 3 wedges and they're seasoned to perfection. Portions were spot on! Oddly enough our visit was made eventful because the staff didn't have the key to the front door and you had to go to the bathroom next door.
