All I can say is wow. Who knew? In a suburban strip mall, some of the best food I've ever eaten. Clean and bright dining area. Lunch with my mom and we shared mixed wings, spicy and honey, for an app, very good! Complimentary chips and salsa as well. We split chicken fajitas (lunch) and Papa ala Huancaina. Great flavor on the fajitas with a nice amount of caramelized veggies. Served with the usual accompaniments and charro beans. The Papa's dish was fabulous. I was skeptical because I asked if it was served hot and it's not. Think a beautifully plated, deconstructed potato salad. If you like potato salad get this! I loved it. Service by Christian was very friendly and helpful. He knows the menu well and his service was exemplary. I highly recommend this family owned spot. Try something off the Peruvian menu, it's way more interesting than run of the mill Mexican food. I will be a regular here. Loved it. read more

Israel was our server. He is family to the owners. He is personable, engaging, and professional. The food is the best for the price in the area. The sour cream chicken enchiladas were excellent, and the beef enchiladas were well above average (worth having again)! They make their own chips and salsa, with a large variety of offerings both on and off the menu. This place is a hidden gem. I wil be recommending this place to all my friends in the area. This place is close to my house. When I used to go we would get reasonable portions of meat on our fajitas. Now they charge one of the highest prices I've seen for them. And barely give you any meat. It's just not worth it. My family and I will not be back. Such a shame because it's close to our house and we LOVE Mexican food. This is hands down one of the best  Authentic Mexican spots in Rowlett.  The food tasted very fresh and homemade like how Authentic Mexican food should be. The hot sauce tasted fresh and homemade but I like it more spicey and the sever suggested Molcajeta salsa. WOW it hit the spot and enhanced the flavor of my Verde Green Enchilada.  The chicken was tender and flavorful. Leaving church the family must have breakfast together and more often than not we break bread eating out. We had tried this restaurant before and the memory was not a good one so we decided to give it another shot. The restaurant is located in a strip mall so parking is not an issue. We walked in and like the first time the restaurant had no customers. The server was nice yet really didn't provide customer service especially since we were the only ones in the establishment. We were given chips and salsa which had an authentic flavor. They refilled the chips and salsa which was nice of our server. Our server also gave us taste of chile con queso which was Tex-Mex style which is not authentic. Our orders were simple, enfrijoladas with eggs, chilaquiles, fajitas and plain quesadillas for Cashew. After placing the order we waited, waited and yes waited same as our first visit. That made no sense for being the only ones in the restaurant. The food was plain and not much of an authentic taste. The portions were small and for $68 for breakfast, along with a tax for using a credit card, this location will not be at the top of our 20 restaurants in North Dallas area. read more

Authentic Mexican Food: if that is what you are looking for than you have come to the right place. You're probably wondering why I gave them 4 stars and not 5 huh? Well it really boils down to preference. Being Mexican I am used to certain dishes being made certain ways. If they are made different it kind of throws you off. This could be due to the region of Mexico the owner/chef comes from or just how their parents made it. Either way, that is why I gave them 4 stars, the customer service was a bit dry but that isn't too much to complain about, overall I think for stars is really good just not perfect. Kiki's turned out to be a pleasant surprise for us! It's in a little shopping area so easy to miss or overlook, but after a search for nachos, they popped up. Walking in, it's very basic. Tables, chairs, and booths. We were told we could sit wherever we wanted, and took a booth. The waiter was awesome. I don't usually ask what is recommended, but I'm glad I did and ordered the nachos. My date had fajitas, and they smelled awesome. We never had to wait for our drinks to be refilled, which is a huge plus for me since I go through my beverages quickly. We ordered from their Peruvian menu which is not what's brought out initially so so you have to ask for it. We had the Trio Marino which was a beautifully plated and wonderful dish. It consisted of pan fried mussels, fried fish, shrimp, calamari and crab. The seafood paella was the best I've ever had and a potato cake stuffed with chicken. Absolutely a stunning plate. The chips and salsa were very good. We met one of the owners and her son was the waiter. He was so polite and attentive and kept checking on us. Happened on this location by chance and glad we did. From the outside it doesn't look like much but those are often the better places. My friend and I found the guacamole to be super fresh as if they had just sliced open the avocados with hints of jalapeño. Salsa and chips just as fresh. I had the cheese enchiladas with chili con carne and found the both the enchiladas and rice and beans very good. My friend has the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce. She too devoured her plate and found everything to be yummy. The chicken was shredded, flavorful, and they put tomatoes inside which added a nice twist. I've lived in Rowlett for over 10 years & always seen this place when going to Aldi or eating at Cici's, but it never looked busy & I've never heard anyone say anything significant about it. But we decided to start trying places we've never been to & came in last Sunday for lunch. It was empty inside & no one was at the front to greet us, but a woman came out and seated us within a few seconds. The interior was decorated with cute banners on the ceiling, but it didn't look the most welcoming or cleanest. We were brought waters & chips & salsa as an appetizer. We also ordered the chicken fajita nachos as an appetizer. It came with 6 chips that had cheese & chicken on top with a side of lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and jalapeños. It didn't look appetizing, but it turned out to taste really good. For our entrees, my family got : caldo de res (soup), combo fajitas, enchiladas verde, and I got half a dozen tamales. Everything to our surprise was not too oily/greasy, was very flavorful, and cooked well. Each of us enjoyed our meals and got so full with the portions, that we had leftovers as well. Our waitress, although she was the only one there & a few people came in after us, was very attentive to our table as well. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable too. Overall, the food was great & I liked the decor inside because it represented the Mexican culture nicely. But I think if they revamped the look of the inside & outside to make it a bit more clean or modern looking, it would draw more people in & they'd get a lot more business. read more

I decided tonight to try out Kiki's, on my entrance I was the only customer they had thought they were closing. The sign stated open till 9pm. I was gonna leave but decided to go ahead and eat. Their menu has the normal options as most mexican restaurants do. The friendly waitress suggested I try the El Miguelito. It is a Avocado stuffed with chicken or steak then deep fried served with an enchilada rice and a bowl of Tortilla Soup. The stuffed avocado is amazing will have to try the steak next time. I took the first bite then took a picture of the meal. Rice was mice and fluffy but had a so so taste little bland for me. The Tortilla Soup was wonderful tasting just not hot but warm. The waitress suggested Sopaipillas for dessert cheap price for two. I am use to the fluffy version these were flat squares but tasted amazing. The atmosphere is so so, not something that makes you want to stay and hang out. It looks to be BYOB. I also believe they deliver in town. The over head lights seem to bright need some adjustable lighting. The Spanish music seemed a little loud, they have 1 Big Flat Screen but no volume on it. I will make another visit for sure, like have this little eatery here. read more

First off I applaud them for being open on Christmas Eve! We were starving after church and had limited options to choose from. The restaurant itself is small, but it's comfy. The waitress started us off with chips and salsa which was decent. Nothing too special. We decided to start off with chicken fajita nachos. They were pretty good. I got enchiladas verdes which came with 3 enchiladas, rice, and beans. The meal was full of flavor and really hit the spot. Especially the rice! My dad ordered combination fajitas which were grilled perfectly. My mom had ordered the caldo de mariscos which was a type of soup that came with tortillas. My mom had claimed that it was good but we had ate so many chips and salsa that we were full. I think this restaurant is a nice place for some good old Mexican comfort food. read more
