Stopped in for dinner. Had ceviche pescado and Lomo Saltado. They give you concha (fried corn kernels with salt) as snack to begin. The ceviche was quite delicious. Fresh fish and they'll prepare it how you want in terms of heat. Lomo was very tasty. Could of had maybe more tomatoes, but the beef was well seasoned. Its not filet mignon, but a good cut for the price point. They had live music on this Friday night which concerned me that it'd be too loud but was actually quite nice and they played a variety of Peruvian songs. The store portion is well stocked with Peruvian staples and treats. Peruvian food is delicious when done correctly. There's a lot of "fusion" places that charge high prices and are trendy. This place has delicious traditional Peruvian food at a great price. Must stop in if you're in the area. It won't disappoint. read more

A Peruvian friend told me that this place has amazing chicken. After three visits, all I can say is...it depends. It's very inconsistent, sometimes the food is good to really good, other times it's mediocre to bad. The breaded chicken breast I had last time was paper thin and so dry it could start a fire. Service is also pretty bad, once the food is dropped off they never came by to check it we needed anything until it was time to clean the table. Finally, do check your ticket - we noticed we were charged for a large drink when we had the regular cans. read more

Our babysitter is from Peru and she highly recommends this restaurant. She was free on Saturday so we asked if she would like to go. She said yes so off we went. The restaurant is a "hole in the wall" in a strip mall in Irving. The inside of the restaurant is very festive with all sorts of colors. They have a small shopping area where you can buy goodies to take home. We were promptly seated at our table. The service was prompt. We went with the suggestions of our babysitter. We had the Potatoes with Cream for a starter. For the main dishes, we had to try the Lomos Saltados which is a very traditional Peruvian dish. The combination of Beef, Grilled Tomatoes and Onions, and French Fries was delicious. It had a touch of Soy Sauce that made it tangy. We also got the Fried Rice with Chicken and Egg. It was a different variant of Asian Fried Rice but we loved it. Our babysitter got the Arroz de Mariscos or Seafood Paella. She shared a sample of her dish and both my wife and thought it was tasty. This is a hidden gem! We ordered the Chicha Morado, Lomo Saltado and Jalea and we enjoyed both dishes. They have very large portions so I recommend sharing the dishes family-style. We had a slight wait for the service but there were not a lot of people in the restaurant. Overall, it was bearable for the portion and price point. They had a small market in the restaurant full of Peruvian goods so this was place was a mom-and-pop shop. read more

Wow, this place is like a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I honestly felt like we were in a different country inside this restaurant. We ended up getting Lomo Saltado & aji de gallina, both classic peruvian dishes. We also got Chicha morada and inka cola to wash everything down. Both dishes were amazing, and they will provide sauce you can add to the food to spice things up. Every Peruvian place i go to, i need to try the lomo saltado, and this place is definitely legit, the lomo saltado is extremely tasty. the aji de gallina is also really delicious. Also, definitely get the Chicha morada drink. its so refreshing! The interior is so festive!!! Its kinda crazy to explain the whole store. They have random Peruvian snacks and food you can buy to bring home to cook. They also have a random section that sells plush toys. Also when we went, they had a live band playing, and they walked around in their costume. This is why i felt like i wasn't in america anymore, and took a trip to peru. I also bought flan to bring home to try, and i have to say the flan is also very good. If you eat inside, they will bring you food, but not sure if the place is truly a restaurant with waiter/waitress service? The reason i'm giving this place only 4.5 out of 5, is that there was a language barrier when ordering. I asked for a 20 oz size for inca cola, and they only bought out a small bottle. I was going to bring up that i ordered the larger size, but actually kept my mouth shut, cuz the smaller size was perfect and less sugar (which is a win, since i need to control my sugar intake. lol) Will definitely be back. read more

Looked around at the store while waiting for my order. Prices seemed to mostly be marked this time but I found at least some things I looked at to be rather pricy (e.g. 17 oz bottle of Lupini beans for $12). It has a little grocery corner with local spices and candies. This week is EPIC in terms of Crowd. Due to Soccer games, there were tons of visitors from out of town through the day. The main door could never catch a break, folks were going in and out every few minutes. That said, the Menu was limited to a few popular dishes at fixed price of $16.99 - this is to speed up both food preparation and cashiering duty without causing any further bottleneck at waiting line - very efficiently throught of to keep the line moving and the tables turning. Food is authentic, Cerviche was as expected, large serving enough to share with 4 people. The Saltido with soaked fries and steak bites was super flavorful although the meat could be a little softer. Having watched the fire grill churning and grilling chicken behind the Cashier counter, I went ahead to get the Pollo al Brasas to go. We were there yesterday, ordered a rotisserie chicken which was very tasty, arroz chaufa which was as well very good. The ceviche had wayyyy too much milk. We got alfajores to go, sorry but I've never try this bad of alfajores, the manjarblanco it's a thin layer that it is very hard, the cookie itself is just basic. Not really original alfajores. We were out thrifting in Irving and saw this place. Omg what a fun experience. Staff was soooo friendly even with language barriers. We stuck with the rotisserie chicken 1/2 enough for both of us 1/2 a chicken cooked so juicy and fresh with a pile of French fries and a big fluffy salad of romaine, Carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a delicious dressing. Food was fresh so much and our meal for 2 was under $20.00. The restaurant was clean had a store in it. We love to do local tip big and keep there doors open. I've been wanting to try this restaurant out for a while now and finally had the chance to come here for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. We got a few things to really try the menu out. Often found myself feeling like some or potentially all facets of a dosh were kind of bland and in some cases lacking salt or seasoning altogether. Ceviche is on tilapia and comes out kind of mushy and watery indicating it's potentially being previously frozen Portions are large and prices are mostly fair (excluding the grocery section) but it comes across as hoke cooking...like it's fine, but it's not like the Peruvian food I love so much (having eating at some of the best Peruvian restaurants in both South Florida and Peru). Nor is it as good as when Peruvian family members come to stay and cook at home. It's okay but we aren't rushing back but we ate it, so there's that. read more

A lovely man served us our meal. His recommendations for traditional Peruvian favs were spot on. And the table sauces were just right. For the main dish she ordered Arroz Con Pollo with Papa A La Huancaina. They have 3 soups, one chicken and the other 2 are fish. I selected the Chupe De Camerones. The food was fresh and well seasoned. We loved the flavors but Lynelle forgot to check if the meat was breast and not dark meat. I traded her chicken for a few of my shrimp and she was happy again. Hole in the wall dining with authentic delicious Peruvian food. Upon entering, you're transported to somewhere in Peru. There was live Peruvian music, a lot of colorful Peruvian decor that embraced the walls, and there was even a little market in the restaurant that sold: Peruvian candies, condiments, cookies, and grocery items. But, the standout here was definitely the food, it was just sooooo good. The lomo saltado is my favorite....it's tenderloin beef cubes with veggies and fries on top of rice. The portion is large; I always share this plate. The ceviche was so delicious... it had all your staples: the sweet potato, the red onions, and the choclo (Peruvian corn). It's a generous portion which is very much shareable. The Papa a la huancaína is one of my favorites... it's the potatoes with the creamy cheese sauce. My body can't handle a lot of creamy cheesiness, but this dish never gives me any trouble. It's light on the tummy. The fried yuca was a large portion and that was shared at the table, and it was great. The people, the food, and the fun ambiance made this a great place to dine!
