I liked the crunchy texture in the middle, but I couldn't taste the pistachio flavor. The chocolate itself was creamy, but it was extremely sweet and made me thirsty. Wonderful shop in East Plano tucked away in a complex. They offer all sorts of sweets, pastries, ice cream, nuts, and various other gift sets. Lady there was very helpful and offered samples. We got the baklava, nougat, and lemon salt pistachios. The pistachio baklava is among the best I've had in DFW. It is perfectly sweet but not overly sweet or soggy either. I received a presentation plate of nut-filled dates, figs and apricots that was bought at Pistachio. Unlike most of these pricey mixed dried fruit trays, the edibles were all fresh -- no rancid nuts, no totally desiccated dried fruit. It was quite a treat. The dates included not only the walnut nut-filled medjool but also a smaller date that was softer with a caramel taste. So, based on this positive experience, I decided to buy a similar plate for a friend as a gift during Ramadan (for Iftar). The store has a website indicating it has origins in Dubai, where I have visited a few times. It is in a quiet unassuming strip shopping center, in East Plano, and has outdoor seating. Inside everything looked fresh and clean and a young man came out immediately to greet me -- I arrived at about 11 AM just as the store opened on Saturday. It turns out his name is Nasser and I found him to be a friendly, personable fellow who took a bit of time to chat and explain the range of nuts, chocolates, Middle Eastern and other pastries, and cakes that they sell. I bought a presentation plate for about $35. They range in price from $25 to $60 or more. The store is a bit "out of the way" for folks in W Plano or Frisco being in East Plano just off Park BLVD, but the "goodies" are well worth the trip. I strongly recommend Pistachio for fresh delicacies nicely presented and suitable as gifts to any foodies, and especially during Ramadan or on Eid. read more

We had walked in to order the popular chocolate, and they told us they were out of stock, which was understandable. Then, our friends had went in to get their pre-ordered chocolate and overheard one of the employees selling the chocolate to someone else and telling her that she was "lucky she came in when she did because they were about to sell out." I don't understand why she would lie to us and make us believe that they were sold out when really they had some leftover. Also, we were in the parking lot and one of the customers had told us they were still selling chocolates FIFTEEN minutes after they told us they were "out of stock," and she had not preordered.
