This is a cross post from Google reviews, I wanted to be sure they got credit on Yelp as well for a very positive experience I had here. I've seen this place a dozen times and kept wanting to go in but never came across the right opportunity to take the family in for dessert. Even though this place is walking distance from my house, I just never made time to take my wife and kids in. Yesterday evening I was picking up food from LA Burger and we stopped in here to see what all they had available and consider grabbing some items to go for dessert after we finished dinner. The first thing that took me by surprise was how big and bright the inside of the store is. They really did a good job renovating this place, the inside is absolutely huge. Great for bringing in large groups, and bug enough to have some space to yourself if you're there on a date. Also, some quirky features that would be great opportunities for social media posts. I didn't get a chance go to the outside area, but it looked like they had a nice courtyard with artificial turf and some yard toys for the kids, along with plenty of shaded outdoor seating. They had some wood stacked to the side that I assume is maybe for an outdoor fireplace, but might just there for a woodfired oven (they make various flat breads and pizzas which I haven't tried yet, more on that later). The guys working the counter were very helpful and quick to strike up a conversation with my younger kid and get him engaged. They were quick to offer samples of some of the Gelato on offer, which was nice because they had an insane amount of flavors that made it hard to choose just one. We ended up trying a few fruit flavors, grapefruit and pomegranate, which were both phenomenal. I highly recommend the grapefruit Gelato which ended up being the biggest hit with my family. We also got a cup of birthday cake Gelato for my youngest which she absolutely loved. It's right with vanilla, cream, and sprinkles, great for kids and adults alike. The quality of the vanilla they are using is really something you should try if you are a fan of vanilla. It's clearly high quality and they are not shy with it. Finally, I had to ask about the Gelato cream cakes, which were apparently an original dessert created at Sugar. We tried the Dubai Chocolate flavor and it ended up being my favorite item we picked up. It was not too sweet, and the textures were incredible. The small is definitely big enough to feed 2 - 3 people, and it held up well even with me taking it to go and waiting 30 minutes or so to eat it. Overall, I am excited to try some of the other offerings from this place. They had so many interesting creations like Turkish baklava, knafeh, and even cheesecake that I want to try out. I am also a fan of Turkish coffee and really want to give theirs a try. They didn't have it in the dessert case, but I also saw that they have some zataar Flatbread and pizza that looked delicious on their website. I'm a huge fan of Turkish flavor combos and want to pick up some of their flatbread to serve with halumi next time I make it at home. The to-go service was top notch and they even provided a small insulated bag to help keep the Gelato and cake cold in the Texas heat. It was a nice touch to a very positive first experience I had at Sugar. read more

I'm not sure if they're permanently closing which is SO SAD, but I've always loved this place. It has a great offering of food, unique ice cream flavors, and knafeh. The inside is bright, and well-decorated and it is fun to be there. Service is great as well and they're willing to let you try as many ice cream samples as you need to decide. I just want to say, the hospitality and kindness my friend and I experienced coming here was absolutely amazing! 10/10 - and this is no exaggeration. Allan, the owner of this establishment allowed us to come inside even though they were doing some minor adjustments to the store. He greeted us with such a warm smile and they weren't officially open yet but he'd allow us to come inside and purchase cheesecake. This place is HUGE and stunning! I love the marble flooring and the decor. It's modern and still gives a middle eastern cultural vibe. We saw some pastries that we've never seen before or heard of and he was so kind to allow us to sample them. I cannot recall the names of the pastries but I posted pictures. They were sweet and tasty and I can't compare them to anything else, you just have to try for yourself! Allan informed us that the cheesecake comes from grass fed cows and that let us know that the quality here is top tier. Everything is made in house, not like a store bought cheesecake so you're in for a big treat! I got the lotus biscoff cheesecake and my friend got the Oreo one. They're beautiful works of art, but they come frozen, just fyi. The fruit they use in their desserts are also all real and I was pleased to hear that as well! We drove 40 minutes to come here and I would definitely do it again because this was such an impressive first impression! I pray that this place flourishes and does abundantly well :) read more

I so wanted to like this place. The ambiance, the aesthetic - gorgeous. Staff is nice, and friendly. However, the food was not good at all. I'm a dessert lover so we got a few things to try and unfortunately, aside from the ice cream, it was not good. There was a pistachio covered pudding so when I asked the staff what kind of pudding it is, what it tasted like, they couldn't tell me anything. Everything I asked was "I don't know". Your staff needs to know what products you are selling. I ended up getting it because it looked good but I was disappointed. The pudding was not sweet at all, and very bland. I love kunafa and theirs tasted like it was old and left over. The pastry on top was soft and mushy, not at all crispy. It was coming apart like breading on chicken nuggets (same texture too). First impression is that the space is very beautiful and spacious. There is a large selection of sweets and flavors to choose from. That was probably the only nice thing about our visit. When you ask for samples of gelato they try to do that "Turkish" ice cream trick and play keep away with your samples, as well as when they hand you your cup of gelato. It may be funny the first time but customers don't need a teenage boy playing keep away with a tiny sample of gelato saying "you're too slow, try to be faster". Bruh just scoop me some ice cream lol I've seen that trick on social media before but they have this long stick with cones and it's actually surprising/funny. Maybe it's part of their branding, but if a customer expresses annoyance then don't keep going four more times, you're embarrassing yourself and guaranteeing that they won't be coming back. The gelato was a 2.5 out of 5 and overpriced. $6 for a small cup that was left half-eaten. Much better deal and much better flavor at Tongue in Cheek. read more
