This coffee shop quickly became my husband and I favorite spot. This shop is tucked away in a cute area of downtown Plano. Inside has lots of sitting areas, but it does get filled fast with people who want to relax and study or read a quiet book to themselves. There's seasonal drinks are delicious, but I stick to my tried and true- Beez Kneez I had a little modification of a little extra honey, and a few splashes of heavy cream. I always get a little envious of how every suburb of Dallas seems to have such a cool town square, and Plano is no different. Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. Hands down love 1418 Coffee even after only three visits! I'm working in Plano this month and needed to find a good caffeine stop after my long commute from Fort Worth. The baristas are all super friendly and were happy to answer all my questions. It's also super cozy with dim lighting, and the music isn't super overpowering or loud. There's mostly comfy couches but also a few tables and high top seating. Just a little chilly, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket. I was able to comfortably complete some work on my laptop, with working wifi. There were also people here socializing in the morning. They no longer serve breakfast tacos, so I opted for a bacon cheddar scone at one visit and a lemon blueberry scone on another. They were both delicious! The baristas told me that their chai leans toward the sweeter side versus the spicier side, so I opted for an iced sugar-free vanilla latte, which was not overly sweet. I also tried the beez neez (latte with honey and cinammon) another time and enjoyed it! They offer 2% milk, which I don't always find at coffee shops. Since it's in downtown Plano, there's street parking, which wasn't difficult for me since I came at 8 AM. I believe there are parking garages located nearby. This cafe has a beautiful "academia" interior. It feels sitting in a sunroom in the house of your quirky great aunt. Customer service interactions are laid-back and friendly, but do not be mistaken- all of the employees are bookin' it behind the counter. I had a delicious caprese sandwich (which came with a choice or regular/salt&vinegar/japaleño chips). I also tried their #1 speciality latte; the Purple Haze, which featured lavender and vanilla. Oh my god, I have never had a lavender latte that I actually liked! Not liked, LOVED! Literally, every lavender latte I've ever has tasted like soap, but the Purple Haze here has changed me. We were looking at homes near by and stopped in to grab a coffee before heading to work. 1418 Coffee is located in a downtown area so I can see how parking on a busy weekend might be difficult but we parked in a near by garage with no problem. There is also a ton of street parking. This coffee shop has a great feel, nice lighting, and tons of seating options to include couches, tables and bar style seating. We ordered the seasonal offerings which were the pumpkin spice latte and the apple butter latte, both hot and both were delicious. We also tried the mix berry tart and when I tell you we went back again today it was specifically for the tart. So so good! This is my absolute favorite coffee shop. I live in Massachusetts but travel to the Plano/Richardson area for business several times a year. I make sure to start out every day with a cortado and often grab one of the triple berry tarts as well. It's always consistent and very smooth. Definitely stop here if you're anywhere nearby. I went here today and I have to say that I am so impressed with this place! The vibes here are so great and cozy with the music and interior. Also my coffee was so good, I got the Purple Haze (iced) which is a latte with lavender and vanilla, very well mixed and consistent flavor. Austin is a great barista, he was very enthusiastic and kind while helping me and my family with our orders. The star of my night that inspired me to give a five star rating (or more if I could) is the brownie I had! Made in-house, with tender, fresh chicken, including tasty sweet cranberries, all tucked into a cloud-like croissant. We also indulged in a mocha frappe--hands down, the tastiest in town! TIP: Parking is a beast! There is a parking garage directly behind their building. Fair warning there were only 3 handicap spots. All of them were full at 2pm on a Wednesday. TIP: Every table was taken. Many people on their phone/ laptops, and thats okay if they are customers. BUT, the majority had no problem taking space that could easily seat 4 people. Frustrating to those of us who were there to spend money on food, pastries, and drinks. We would have spent more money if we had a place to sit and eat .. comfortably. When the Texas weather snaps to cooler weather, the outside seating area in front of the building will add extra space to this crowded spot. They do offer another outside area in the back, but it sorely lacks the same vibe. We look forward to making this part of our favorite lunch rotation and want to to try more items on their menu. This place ain't a Starbucks We were in Plano for a HS graduation and on Sunday morning before everyone went their ways, we looked for a coffee shop central to where we all at and 1418 Coffee was it. It's an amazingly cute and quaint place in the Plano Historic district. There were several of use and made it work by moving some chairs around. There is outside seating but the weather is warming up with Texas humidity so inside it was. I had an iced coffee and wife had a hot carmel macchiato. We recently tried this coffee shop for the first time and were impressed. The interior is nicely done with various types of seating, including chairs, recliners, and couches. When I thought I lost my phone, the guy behind the counter immediately helped us look for it and even took our numbers in case it was found. I usually really love this place but today I'm not so sure. Their food and drinks are amazing but their staff often gets my order wrong. Usually forgets that I don't want a double shot of espresso and puts 2 anyway. Also, they used to ask if stuff like the pastries are for here or to-go but they never seem to ask that anymore. In the past, when they're order for here they would come hot on a plate, they always just seem to do cold and to-go automatically now even when I ask for here specifically. I was only picking up to go on a Sunday morning but there was already a hood crowd inside. Second, the coffee was delicious. Lavender latte did not disappoint! I can see why it is a crowd favorite. My mom also had the drip coffee and loved it. She's the first to comment if something is not good and not a peep on this from her. Unfortunately, the matcha was not strong at all, so I'll have to subtract a star based on the one item I ordered. The blackberry flavor was good, but I think a stronger matcha flavor would have balanced the sweetness from the blackberry a lot better.
