I wish I would've taken a picture of my matcha but it was soooo goood I completely forgot. I got the strawberry matcha and didn't realize until the end that it was the owner preparing it! She was helping some of her staff on a Saturday morning and I have to say, their service was amazing. The place is small but it has enough tables and benches to keep everyone cozy while waiting for their drinks. Oh, and they have an amazing plant selection that will keep you distracted while waiting! This place is owned/run by the nicest people! We went there just to grab a quick coffee and some beans to take home. They had a fun special where if you bought beans you got your drink for $1! The owner was excited to share how he was trying new combinations for the cold brew and wanted us to drink it there and let him know our thoughts. He told us all about their process in making it and helped us pick the beans we would like the best based on what we tend to drink. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be here! read more

I love supporting family-owned, local businesses, and on my trip to Dallas, Coffee Del Rey seemed like the perfect spot that checked all the boxes. The Madame blueberry intrigued me as I am a huge fan of blueberry, but I was craving more caffeine than a matcha would provide. The staff were very helpful in suggesting and accommodating a latte with the blueberry flavor in it so I could get exactly what I wanted. The care that was put into the drink was very much appreciated, and combined with the peaceful atmosphere of the interior, my experience was great. Saw this on Google (I know, the enemy of Yelp but so be it) one day and decided to check it out. It's in a very unassuming shopping center off 75 but once you enter you're transported to your little coffee oasis. It's a smaller shop but gives the "your local coffee shop" vibe that makes it feel uniquely Plano. I was greeted by Isai who has a good spirit to him and made the experience truly enjoyable. I asked him what I should try and he recommended I try the Del Rey Latte. It has hints of brown sugar and cinnamon and is perfect to start your day. While Isai was preparing it we talked and chatted and it just really felt good to be there compared to some more corporate coffee shops. Overall, I cannot recommend this place high enough. Definitely give it a shot, it's worth the drive. I'll for sure be back! read more

Ordered the Berry blast coffee, and the coffee del Rey. The berry blast was very good. I did request to get one less pump, which made it perfect in my opinion. The Delray coffee was great as is, with a hint of cinnamon & brown sugar at the end of every sip. Not only that, but the barista made sure that the coffee drink was mixed thoroughly by shaking it up and down to mix the coffee, syrup, and milk. Although this should be a standard & is a small gesture, I feel like not every coffee shop does that so it was very nice to see at this spot. The service was very professional and friendly from the two hosts. They created small conversations and provided insight on their preferred coffees and helped pick coffee beans to take as well. They have a wide variety of beans and pride themselves on their roasting, so I would definitely recommend coming here if you need any or want a delicious drip! There isn't a lot of seating or food options, but since their focus is on their beans/roasting process, it's nice that they work on doing an exceptional job with that! They have a couple of latte/barista drinks to choose from including a house latte that I tried! The owner was SO nice and it was great to speak with her while getting my drink. They don't offer brewed coffee - it's pour over only! They specialize in medium roast to really bring out the flavor profiles in the beans. I tried a Brazilian pour over which was exquisite. I also had their specialty, Cafe Del Rey Latte which is made with hazelnut and a pop of cinnamon. Delicious! While at a friend's bachelorette, I discovered the joys of french press coffee. What is this deliciousness, and how could I get more of it?? I mean, ever since that eventful weekend, my Nespresso has been collecting dust and baleful stares. (lol) Obviously, I needed to buy a french press and grind my own beans! After some googling, I found this location and love that they roast their own beans twice a week. They also grind them up for you! I've been by twice and have gotten: - Dominican coffee beans (coarse ground - is that the way to say it?!) - Pour over coffee (Brazil coffee beans) The staff here is super sweet and knowledgeable. They were also really nice about grinding half my beans, so that I could come back later to grind the other half. (My coworker has said that when you grind them matters... lol. Although his opinion is that their shelf-life post-grinding is like seconds.) My coffee game has been awesome since coming here, and the pour over coffee I picked up yesterday was delicious without sugar/cream. I really could pick up on the different flavor profiles. For starters, this coffee place is in an odd run down shopping center. It's known for their drip coffees so if you are a latte person, I don't recommend this place.
