    Matcha latte
    Nancy H.

After seeing this place across from the plaza I frequent (Mitsuwa/Jusgo plazas), I decided to give this place a try. I am amazed by how many different amenities they have at this coffee shop, it has a nice community vibe to it. The people at the counter were friendly and made me feel welcome. I like the concept of this place and their mission to give back to the community. I ordered a lavender matcha oat milk latte and it had a good lavender flavor and the matcha was smooth. My drink came out at a reasonable time and it was a nice color. There was plenty of seating in here. I think it's neat that there is also pickleball, basketball, and sand volleyball courts here. There is also a little library area perfect for studying or reading. There is plenty of parking in the front here, it isn't too difficult to find a spot even though the lot was packed on the weekend.

Have you ever thought that pickleball could connect to coffee? I discovered this place because of the pickleball courts right next to their outdoor seating area. It was a really nice find! The interior is very spacious as you walk inside. I usually order the house coffee on the first visit to a new coffee place. But when I noticed their barista busily whisking a matcha drink, I changed my mind to have a matcha latte as I always like matcha anyway. I did make a good choice. The drink was smooth and creamy. The fresh grassy and slightly bitter flavor was I liked the most. I liked the vibe also. Some people were quietly working on their laptops, and some were just having a good time chatting with their friends. They also have simple sandwiches and pastries if you want something to go with your beverage. I'm sure I'll come again to try something else or simply relax after playing some intense pickleball games nearby.

Chicken empanada, beef empanada, matcha, chai latte

This place was great! I had a honey vanilla matcha and chicken empanada. It wasn't too sweet, and the empanada was tasty. My friend had a chai latte and beef empanada. The chai was good, but not comparable to real Indian chai. The empanada was also tasty. We both loved both sauces that came with the empanadas. The space was beautiful inside and out. Perfect for catching up with a friend, studying, or to chill. There's also a library, which is great for those who need complete silence to study. I didn't get to explore outside but there looked to be plenty of activities. The service was great and everyone we interacted with was nice.

Coffee and service are alright; it's good if you want a simple drink and the staff are accommodating to add syrups or tweak your drink any way you'd like. This is definitely the place for atmosphere-- there's plenty of room to chat with friends, play pickleball outside on the adjoined courts, and lounge under the fans. I've seen some book clubs meet up and leashed dogs on the porch, and the pastries they do have hit the mark. I didn't find it any different from coffee (both hot or iced) that you could get from anywhere (or make at home), but again, if you're looking for a fun social outing or hang-out spot, that's definitely what Local Good offers.

We stopped in on a Sunday morning on our way through Plano and were pleasantly surprised. Not only does this massive space function as a coffee shop, they also have a dedicated quiet / study room, pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, and a basketball court. This would be a great place to meet if you have a large group. The cashiers who took our order took the time to explain their menu and give us recommendations. In addition to the seasonal latte, we also ordered a cappuccino, pan au chocolate, and pistachio croissant. The pastries were great! Flaky, warm, buttery, and not too sweet--perfect for a quick breakfast ahead of a long drive. While not the best I have ever had, the coffee was also excellent. The cappuccino ratios were just right and the coffee itself has more of a nutty and malty flavor profile. We learned that this coffee shop is associated with a church next door and that the coffee shop is only one way that the church gives back to its community. They also have a second hand store and food bank, as advertised on their walls. We even learned that the Chinese congregation meets in a section of the coffee shop on Sundays. Everyone was very warm and welcoming and I will definitely pay this coffee shop another visit the next time I am around.

Very unique and big coffee shop that seems to be associated with Chase Oaks Church next door! Their establishment has pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, a basketball court, and not to mention an insane amount of space, tables, and even a library inside. It seems to be the perfect place with great aesthetic to get some work done or meet some friends. I ordered a spring lemon latte off their seasonal menu as well as a pistachio croissant. The lemon latte had lemon and white chocolate notes that seemed to pair so well with the espresso and unlike anything I've ever had. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors. The pistachio croissant was nicely crisped and buttered with pistachio cream throughout the center. It was a great pairing with my coffee. Service was very friendly and fast! I am excited to come back the next time I visit Plano.

What a great coffee shop. I had heard about it from a few of my pickleball folks who go there to play. However I chose to meet some people there one Sunday morning for pickleball and was pleasantly surprised at not just the pickleball courts but all that they have on site. As some how mentioned, it's affiliated with a church but you don't feel that when you are there, as it is on the other side of the street. This coffee show has plenty of space inside to meetup as well as the 3 courts for pickleball, a sand volleyball court and a basketball court. They also have a playground and beautiful patio in the back. They have a "library" room to go in if you need ultimate focus. What a great way to spend a morning of afternoon! I will definitely be back. I tried the Ube matcha latte while here and it was delicious. They also have little bakery treats and other coffee options of course.

We Love trying diffrent coffee shops in the dfw area and this place did not dissapoint! It was very busy as expected for a Saturday morning, however the line moved very fast and i got my order extremely fast. We tried the iced vanilla and salted caramel flavored lattes and both were delicious! I always get a vanilla iced latte at every coffee shop and i would definetly purchase it again and the salted caramel was good not too salty or sweet. The ambience was nice with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and i especially loved all the kids I definitely felt welcomed with my 1 year old. I definitely recommend this coffee shop!

Cool coffee place. Lots of seating to hang out, even a "library room" for people who seek quiet. The coffee is excellent, too. I had a Lemon white chocolate mocha. The tartness of the lemon gently supported the natural acidity of the coffee and balanced out the sweetness from the white chocolate, making this a rather complex treat. Definitely coming back!

For starters, this is affiliated with a church! There is a church inside that seemed to have service OR there was an event from the church. There's a separate area that you can host an event or have a large gathering and that's what they were doing! People were so kind. There is first come seating and also a library that is so quiet. There are tables and chairs inside so you can have quiet conversation or work study moments. Or you can work alone in a comfy arm chair near a small side table. There are plenty of outlets to charge your devices. And it's also cozy. The people were nice. The empanadas were so delicious -- I didn't even feel bad for having two AND a muffin! It was light and fluffy but flavorful too. They had multiple sauces or dipping options. Please give Local Good a try!

suprisingly a pretty good matcha. this was from their seasonal menu + it wasnt too sweet, easy to drink, and super slurpable. the area also has lots of good lighting. and plenty of space to do work. its not too quiet / too loud... which is what i like when working. i really want to try their toasted sandwiches next!

If you are looking for good coffee at a reasonable price, this is not the place. However if you are looking for a place to lounge with a computer, meet up with friends or just chill outside, this place has a ton of space and you can also get overpriced coffee while you're there. I ordered a small cold brew, that's it, and it cost me $7.36!!!! The barista asked if I wanted room for cream and I said "yes". Then she asked me what type of cream, to which I replied "oh I'll just add a splash when I get it". She informed me they don't give cream, they add it and I would be charged for it. Yes I was charged either $1 or .80 cents for a SPLASH of cream. I'm not saying a church should short themselves, but they better not rip people off either. I'll be taking my support and business elsewhere, which makes me sad because I was so looking forward to throwing my support behind the local church. I also didn't find either barista to be friendly at all. I was curtly told "I'll be there in a minute" while I perused the menu. Then my interaction with the barista (as told earlier) wasn't kind or friendly, but short & curt. When my drink was ready it was slid across the counter and I was told "here". No eye contact or smile. My kids & I had fun playing in the gaga pit and I could see us coming to play or read outside once the weather cools off. I'll probably bring my own coffee though.

DRINKS Vanilla Latte - coffee taste good! Vanilla syrup isn't too strong and they also did light syrup for me because I do not like sweet. Not too much ice either which is nice. Matcha latte with honey - doesn't really taste like Matcha, but the powder is well dissolved. Not too sweet with the honey. Tastes pretty milky though more so than matcha. VIBES This place is huge! There's tons of seating from couches to tables to a quiet area (the library - which I think is a great idea) to outside seating. Lots of people studying and working. There are also Pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, and basketball court outside. Service - The people are really nice and pleasant here. They're pretty quick to get people served!

Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.
