We had fun picking out our favorite macarons. Service was great and the woman who waited on us was very patient, while we decided on our flavors. What's one of the best simple gifts to give someone or yourself? Macarons! My husband bought me a box of 6 macarons. He got pistachio, vanilla, chocolate, wild berry, cookies n cream, and salted caramel. The best ones was the cookies and cream. Pistachio was very bland and I didn't taste the pistachio. The salted caramel ended up being my least favorite. The rest were cool. He said the entire half dozen box was only $12, which I thought was cheap comparing them to the price of other places. Chelles is a smaller shop. It's a cute pick up and go type of spot. There is easy parking and is located in a strip mall. The staff is pretty nice and there are lots of choices. Fantastic! I have been craving macarons since the pandemic started and Chelles offered a competitive price. My local macaron shop also offered shipping but it cost the same shipping locally as shipping nationwide from Chelles. Chelles' packaging was much better, there was a tracking number, and they even put a little ice pack inside to keep it cool along the way! In contrast, when I ordered from my local shop, I had no idea when it arrived and it had been sitting out on my porch on a hot summer day for hours. Clearly, Chelles is the best choice for nationwide macaron shipping! I don't live in TX but in NC and have ordered twice--both times did not disappoint! Vanilla is my favorite macaron flavor but I found that Chelles specializes in the "fun" flavors, so vanilla is actually my least favorite flavor from Chelles. My favorite from them is PISTACHIO! I love the pistachio chunks. I've also tried their monthly flavor this month: wildberry. It tastes like berry yoplait. I love how their flavors actually taste like their namesake. It's a mystery how they can pack so much flavor in one little macaron. Birthday cake tastes like birthday cake and has cute sprinkles, strawberry cheesecake even has strawberry jam in the center, etc. They really did a great job with their different flavors! We got a small box of macarons (5 or 6 pc). They looked amazing but the problem is they were not at all like macarons. They were chewy and not fluffy at all. We baked those at home multiple times and clearly know that those were done wrong. Macarons you can buy at Costco is much much better quality and really are macarons. Reason for 2 start instead of 1: the taste was good anyway even though not like macarons at all, like if you ordered a steak but instead got grilled chicken - it's still good, just not what you ordered. Can't believe i just now discovered this place in Plano, but all I can say is YUMMM!!! I wish there was a sign outside that said Chelle at the top instead of just on the windows so it would be easier to see. When you walk in, you have walked into a baking classroom with a small glass refrigerator of macarons on your right. It's pretty cool getting to watch people bake the macaron fresh in front of you..smells sooo goood!!! The staff is super friendly and easy to work with. As for the macarons, I liked the texture of the cookie portion since it wasn't too hard or too soft, but the filling was sometimes too sweet and overpowering. Great macarons! Chelles serves delicious macarons, they run their shop out of The Craft Kitchen of 75, it might be a bit hard to spot but just follow the GPS and keep your eyes peeled for the sign. My personal favorite macron flavors are vanilla, green tea, and black sesame. They also have seasonal flavors that change from time to time. What I really enjoy about Chelles Macrons is that occasionally they will have a macaron tasting party. At these parties you get to taste some of their new upcoming flavors and even have a chance to win a mac pack to take home. There is limited space to each tasting party and admission is $5. They usually announce it on their Instagram so I recommend following them to see when they'll have the tasting parties or new upcoming flavors. They also have a stand at Richardson and Fairview Farmers market. Like everyone, my favorite flavor is the vanilla bean. The strawberry cheesecake and black sesame are also unbelievable. For $11 you can get 1/2 a dozen or a dozen for $20. The price is comparable to their competitors. This is really my favorite macaron place in DFW. I did a lot of research through via Internet/yelp, and this place seemed to pop up everywhere as the best of the best. Pricing was fair and was able to place my order online quite easily. Website specifies give 2 to days for order, but since my order was small (mini mac PAC - 6 total) I placed it a day prior to pick up and it was ready. The only thing is that the place is a little hard to find as there is not a sign overhead. I gave them a ring and they were able to direct me where I needed to be. This place is a 3.7 for me but I'll round up. I'll start out by saying it is very difficult to find. I think I drove around the strip mall 4-5 times before I called them for directions. It's a joint kitchen so they technically can't have any signs on the top of the store with their store name. It's about 2 doors down from the laundry place on the corner. I love the concept; I just wish the place felt more put together aesthetically. It's certainly not a cafe; you just grab your macs and go. Believe it or not I found Chelles when I was looking for a good popcorn place in Plano. I was trying to find Christmas ideas for my Co-workers. I'm glad Chelles popped up (Get it? The guy helping me was very thorough providing storing instructions since I wasn't going to give the Macrons out until a few days after I purchased them. Disclaimer: Chelle's macarons are started by my friends. BUT that being said, I would not post a review if I couldn't be honest about their product. Promise! So these words and opinions are all mine & are true. And I'll try my best not to be biased! I was lucky to be able to test these babies from the beginning. We had 2 rounds of shipments to assorted destination & honestly, the first test was a bit bumpy. Why? Because they were trying to ship in the middle of HOT Texas summer. Ice packs, packaging, etc. The texture of the macarons definitely changed in shipment. Overly-ambitious? Maybe. But after much feedback & modifications, I got a second shipment from Dallas to Austin & they were the perfect macarons!! I absolutely loved them! Here's what I have to say about the macarons. 1) AWESOME flavors. Completely unique. Not your everyday flavors. salted caramel, black sesame, PUMPKIN SPICE, rose, matcha green tea, MANGO blossom, chocolate, vanilla bean, key lime, cookies & cream. My personal favorite of the ones I've had, SALTED CARAMEL. Can't go wrong with that. Hubby's favorite: Matcha green tea. BEST PART: not overly-sweet filling so you can actually enjoy the flavor. 2) Texture and sizes. They have the texture SPOT ON. I've had macarons with dry shells before... you know, where the outside is like a wall & then it completely falls apart when you eat it? And when there are huge air pockets in the middle. NOPE. not with Chelle's macarons. Perfectly chewy, the way they should be. Fillings are generous. The size of each macaron is slightly bigger than ones I've had at other pastry shops. 3) Price: pack of 6 macarons for $11; pack of 12 for $20. I'll do the math for you. $1.83 a pop for the 6; $1.66 a pop for the 12. DUH get the 12. A STEAL. Thought in my head: "Get them now before they get too popular & raise their prices!" 4) They use new equipment that they bought just for the business & have a clean kitchen. No need to be wary of these home bakers. 5) OK, this is where I can get a bit biased. THE PEOPLE. They are absolutely wonderful. They care about their macaron quality & they really love their food so they know what their customers expect. In the questionnaires they gave for the test runs, they asked everything about the look of the macaron, to the taste, to texture, and price. And they really incorporated our feedback into their company. Go meet them at the farmer's & you'll see for yourself. Rochelle, the master baker, is a sweetheart & super friendly & loves dogs. I first saw chelles macaron on Instagram a month ago. I finally made it out to try her macarons. Finding this place was a headache because I went to the address on yelp first thinking it was the address to the Richardson farmers market. It was actually the address to the kitchen she bakes out of and its a pick up location appointment or weekday sales only. When I couldn't find the place, I called the number from yelp. She told me they were at fairview farm shop during weekends. At first I thought fairview was 30 mins away from plano so I told her I would have to make the trip another day. But then I looked up the address from her website and turns out! It was only 12 minutes north. I drove all the way to plano, what's another ten going to hurt? They are a vendor inside farm shop. Farm shop is right next to old navy. The address is either 113 prarie rd fairview, tx or 231 n Stacy rd McKinney tx (old navy) my gps didn't recognize the first address so try the second one if you can't locate the first. Old navy is near ipic theatre. It was hard work finding this place but it was worth it!!! Come early if you want first pick at flavors!!! Since I had so much trouble getting here I had to order a dozen to get my drive worth! The prices are a steal! A dozen for $20!!!! You could get half for $11. For individual macarons I think they're $2 each. I'm not sure, I didn't pay attention because honestly, who just eat one macaron? I got a dozen for myself! They were sweet enough to throw two free ones in there since I almost cried when I got there lol. I wanted to shed tears of joy for finally finding them!!!! I tried sample of cranberry macaron and that was bomb!!!! It had so much flavor! I got a few of those and I took the last chocolate. Got a few mango blossoms and green tea along with a pumpkin spice and two black sesame. I'm going to go into a diabetic shock after eating a dozen by myself. I'm such a fatty! So this place is my tummy obsession with these macaroons. I heard about these from other yelpers and this did not disappoint. I had the vanilla, salted caramel, mint chocolate, passion fruit and black sesame. The vanilla and black sesame were excellent so much so that I had to go back the next day for more. Chelle's macarons never fails me!! Her macarons are so good and the ganache is perfect. I took the macaron apart and it was moist inside and you could tell it was fresh. The ganache taste's exactly as the name of the flavor says. If it is green tea macaron, the filling taste's like green tea. The flavors I enjoy are Rasberry and Vanilla. Even though they are a bit pricey, the quality of the macarons exceed the ones of other locations. Also, she is super nice and you won't find any negative service at Chelle's! One thing that I recommend is that picking up the macarons is your best bet. This is because the Kraft Kitchen isn't that large. It has about 10 chairs in the place. I wouldn't recommend bringing a group of 4-6+ here mainly because it's kind of a place where you buy your food and go. The people there were really nice and location was convenient.
