    red velvet cream cheese bar
    Reynu S.

Full disclosure - I got my treats on Too Good To Go. And they're EXCELLENT. The bakery is mostly a kitchen with a small front for people to pick up the goods. It also seems new due to few / recent reviews from both here and Google Maps. Even the website is still under construction. It felt special to be welcoming a new business to Garland. I brought my treats to a birthday party and everyone audibly sighed in delight while eating their cake. The red velvet is melty soft and the cream cheese is light and fluffy. The whole cake melts as you eat it and with it, any stress or worries fade away. Quick notes: 1. If you get the same clear acetate-like dainty plastic box, please be extremely careful. It's flimsy and can open very easily. I didn't have any issues but I'm so clumsy that I was astonished. 2. $8.65 with tax from TGTG for 8 pieces. Worth this much, not much more due to quantity. 3. The cakes are uneven, as if not leveled before frosting. Not a worry to me - but just note some will get more or less frosting.

Dresses for sale in a bakery?

My wife found AmyA on TooGoodtoGo where they have discounted goods for sale. We bought some red velvet squares with cream cheese frosting. Pretty darn good. They are very receptive when you walk in the bakery which is very small. They answer any questions you have. I did find it odd that they also sell dresses in this small space.

Missing French pastries after my trip to France Came here and tried Mango matcha iced drink was okay. Hard to eat mango slices with ice in the way Banana bread was amazing - caramelized on the top with banana and inside. Moist and full of flavor in every bite (would get again) Coconut passion fruit cake slice - delicious and full of passionfruit flavor which is hard to find (would get again) Apple monkey bread - great with syrup but not as apple-heavy flavor as I'd like it. I headed over and this was the first time since the expansion I had seen the updates. It was amazing to see in person. I ordered the lunch special and had the option to pick between caesar salad or mixed greens and I chose mixed greens. The soup of the day was tomato bisque. The sandwich options were tuna or chicken pesto and I went with tuna. While I waited for me to go I also got a sweet treat. I got the oatmeal cookie. Everything was so yummy and perfect amount of food. The salad came with a dressing on the side which I think was olive oil and lemon?

Today I got a build-a-pie. You heard it right. I got a little of everything that added up to a full pie. This place is like grandma's on steroids. My favorite is the coconut cream pie. Always thick, creamy and delicious. Piecrust can't be beat. If you like a traditional pie. She always has the basic staples plus lots of new and exciting flavor combinations.. Follow her on Instagram for daily specials. Wish I lived in town and could visit more often. If you want to have a pie for the holiday, be sure to order ahead. Fortunately, if you're not dining in, ordering from the to-go line is very quick, and there's even a comfy seating area in the front where you can enjoy your food and beverages. In addition to a double shot espresso I ordered, I also got a broccoli mac and cheese croissant. The croissant was expensive ($7.50), but it's hearty enough to be a meal. I wasn't offered an option to toast up the pastry, but I didn't particularly mind the coldness of the mac and cheese component of the pastry. The croissant surrounding the filling was flakey with nicely laminated layers. Meanwhile, the filling was satisfyingly salty and rich. Although the pastry was tasty, it's probably something I would only try once -- rather than something I would get regularly, due to how heavy the pastry ate. Overall, if you're looking for skillfully prepared, creative pastries, La Casita Bakeshop definitely fits the bill.

She got another dessert that was a bit heavy for our liking that was also seasonal but the flavors were still good.
