If you're looking for tamales, I recommend getting them here. No wonder they run out fast! They are good. Normally it's hard to find a Mexican store that freshly make tamales. And here, they didn't lie!! They do. They aren't dry, the masa is moist and the pork had flavor! 9/10 Also customer service was good. They renovated the place as well, where you can eat too. I love the chicharrones gordita. Kiddos and hubs like the barbacoa and al pastor. Check out the place it's more than just a taco shop, it's a bakery and they have variety of pastries and cookie selections to pick from. The service that I get from them is always pleasant. They moved things around since they first opened and I like the new layout much better than before. They expanded the seating area where you can dine in now. They have a nice assortment of Mexican sweet pastries and they also have hot Mexican food and a variety of Mexican candy. We met with Norma to discuss options for a wedding cake, and she was very friendly. She provided a reasonable quote and timeline. The staff is super friendly and the place is very clean. After we discussed the cake options, we decided to have lunch. It was prepared to order. We had three tacos with chicken and a side of rice, and a chicken burrito. The food was great and filling. We also purchase some chips and baked goods. The staff takes a lot of pride in their job and there's a down home feel to this bakery. We look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Well, the quest for the perfect empanada continues. Ever since having the BEST empanadas at a panderia in San Antonio, I've been on a mission to find the Dallas equivalent. I was hoping this would be the place but sadly, they only had two varieties of empanadas here - pumpkin and some type of cream cheese variety. Both tasted a bit on the dry side (which now explains why a couple of other reviewers said to make sure you ask for the freshest items). These tasted like they were not baked that day. Furthermore, the breading was too thick for my preference. OMG! I ran across this bakery by luck. My mom's birthday is today and I looked for bakeries around me in Garland and this bakery popped up. I ordered the cake over the phone. He described everything to me and made suggestions. Needless to say, this is my new go-to bakery for all baked goods and probably some Latino food!!! (The handmade flour tortillas were yummy!) A huge, wide open space thats oddly arranged and fairly industrial looking, with all the best intentions in the world. Their flour tortillas are legit! Pillowy soft with each bite. Even better if you take them home and heat them up with some animal fat! Their corn tortillas are much better than anything you will find in the store. Their barbacoa is fantastic! Moist and tender without feeling like a water balloon, with a reasonable amount of fat and beef flavor. Their pastor was not juicy, but it wasnt dry. Its odd because I dont know how they cook it, but it had a unique characteristic that Ive never experienced before. The seasoning on it was the best part, with a heavy hand on their southwest pepper seasoning. The carnitas were dry. It wasnt awful, but I needed salsa with every bite to enjoy it. The salsa verde here is wonderful! House made, with green peppers (not sure if its fresno, bell, or jalapeno) resonating with the most flavor. The beans were ok, but I wish they added some lard to it. Felt very bland, even though it made a good consistency. The rice for the first few bites remind me of what I would have at a house party. The flavor dies down. Their tres leche is a solid choice. Im highly biased because Fiesta market still produces the best in my opinion, but this place has a great milky taste. read more

Oh my GOSH! This was amazing! I had tacos tonight, carnitas, pastor, and the beeest barbacoa outside of what Abuelita made us! They threw in the pan dulce with like cinnamon and sugar, with a chocolate or Nutella filling. And the texture was a cross between bread and cookie but was SO soft! Everything was open and there was plenty of room, everyone wore masks. Everything was clean and neat. I WILL be going back, often. read more

I placed my order with a super nice lady who only spoke Spanish. My Spanish isn't too bad, so I was able to get through this hurdle because she was patient with me.
