Similar to the cheese roll but with guava jam and no sugar on top. The coconut pastry, i did not get to try. My husband says it is also good. The potato balls has Ground meat like picadillo filling. It was so good. Even the next day, the coating for the balls was still crunchy after I heated it up. The star for me was the cheese roll. Puff pastry with cream cheese filling. So good with coffee! I love a good Cuban sandwich and have been on a serious hunt across DFW. I have found one truly spectacular one (International Bakery and Cuban Dulceria in Carrollton) and plenty of just okay versions. This place absolutely ranks near the top, and honestly brings more to the table than I expected. The Cuban itself is fantastic. Perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and everything you want when that craving hits. But what really sets it apart is the vinegar dip it comes with. I was not prepared for how good that would be. It completely elevates the sandwich and had me going back for one more dip every single bite. And then there are the plantain strips. Freshly fried, hot, crisp, and just on another level. I do not think I have ever had plantain chips like this before. Usually it is the bagged kind, which are fine, but these are something else entirely. Honestly, they are worth the trip all on their own. Do not even think about leaving without trying the pastries. I happened to get a warm cream cheese one that I cannot stop thinking about. It was one of those bites where you immediately regret not ordering more. To top it all off, the woman running the place is as kind as can be and genuinely helps guide you through the menu like you are a regular, even on your first visit. I went to this restaurant for lunch and tried some of their most popular dishes like the Cubano, empeñada, and guava pastelito. The cubano was good and pretty standard, the plantain chips that accompanied it were crisp, but a little greasy. The empeñada I would not order again. It was soft on the inside and outside instead of having that crispy shell. It also lacked a bold flavor, it just tasted like chicken and fried dough. The guava pastelito was great. It had enough filling and the glaze on top was delicious. I bet some of the other desserts are good too. Service was good, it took about 20 minutes to get my food, the ambiance was decent (Just a small interior that they kept clean), the waitresses were kind, and the price was reasonable. Overall 3 stars. My spouses family is Puerto Rican, so maybe I'm a little pickier when it comes to empeñadas and pastelitos. But nonetheless I would not mind coming back here. read more

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would! Such was my experience in terms of food, service and just overall quality. Everything we got was great but some highlights definitely were the Bella Frita Burger which is so unique and tasty and my husband really enjoyed the Cuban Sandwich. They make everything from scratch and it's evident. I love the empanadas too and the pandan flan cake was so tasty! I can't wait to go back and try more things just cause we couldn't try everything at once the first time. I'd also say that the owner was so sweet and she was so personable and friendly. wow, this place is definitely more like a 4.5 out of 5 stars. the interior is fairly small, and can only seat like 10 or so people. luckily when i went it was empty and i was able to grab a seat and got the food fairly quick. i ended up getting the bella frita, since i wanted to remind myself of when i was back in miami and had those frita burgers. i don't know but something about the haystack fries on top of sandwiches is elite tier. The only downside for the bella frita is the really think smash patty. it was almost as think as a credit card, wish it was a bit bigger. i also ended up getting a bunch of snacks to bring home. multiple potato balls with different flavors and some Croquettes. for those who have lived in southern california or have visited portos, you know how delicious those potato balls are, and this one is no different. if i'm ever in the area, i'll definitely be back and try the cuban sandwich next time. Happened upon this last weekend after church. The menu is very simple. The staff is very happy and there to help. We both had the Cuban sandwich. Will have to admit, one of the better Cuban's I've had in DFW. The plantain chips were to die for. And for dessert. Never been a big fan of flan, but now I'm a convert. This is a cute little restaurant tucked in the back corner of a strip mall off of Arapaho Road. As the weather cools, I imagine more people will be hanging out on the covered patio enjoying the cooler air while drinking a Cubano cordito, small espresso with steamed milk (and sugar). I briefly felt like I was in Little Havana in Miami. There are lots of desserts and pastries to choose from, especially flan, the establishment's namesake. I still haven't tried these, but the display case with the guava one is on my list for my next visit. So far, I've indulged in the Cuban sandwich and the vegetarian version. The Cuban is delicious, and - I - mean - every - bite! They have figured out the art of making sure mustard touches every corner of the bread, and that the thinly sliced pickles and pork are in every bite of the sandwich. I can't tell you how happy this made me. The sandwich is flat, similar to a panini which took me by surprise. It is also elongated. While I didn't appreciate this initially, I realize, it's like you get to enjoy the Cuban experience longer with smaller bites. The vegetarian Cuban sandwich is made with mushrooms and pineapple. These two are an odd combo I would never have considered. However the texture of the two together on the sandwich really did work well together. I didn't notice the sweetness of the pineapple at all. However, the Cuban sandwich taste is definitely different than the real meat version. The vegetarian sandwich is an acceptable lunch item, but if you have your heart on the real taste of Havana, you'll have to get the meaty version. The poblano cheese ball was an add on. It isn't spicy at all. In fact, it is bland. I dumped hot sauce on it to give it a punch. The texture of the perfect panko ball with the hot oozy cheese inside was lovely. Plantine chips come with the sandwich. They are thinly sliced and lightly salted. These are great for snacking, and you receive a lot of them either your sandwich. I ended up bringing them home because it was too much to eat. My big complaint is the use of styrofoam clambshell containers. Even if you eat at the restaurant, they serve your meal in this environmental abomination. There are so many other options available these days that are better for the environment and not hard on the pocketbook. Please consider this change! read more

Finally got to try Bella Flan! It was semi-busy for a Saturday morning. We ordered 1/2 sweet cafecitos while we waited and they were perfect for a rainy morning. We got the Cuban sandwhich (votes Dallas's best Cuban sandwich in 2023!) and the poblano and original potato balls. The Cuban was delicious! They give you a generous serving of fried plantain chips to accompany it. It was filling and had the perfect balance of rich and tangy flavors. Bella Flan is one of a handful of places that I like to visit when I am in the Richardson area. The staff is always welcoming and the dining area is always clean. There is a nice patio that sits off to the side of the restaurant for outdoor dining. The menu is pretty straightforward. Once you place your order at the counter the food is delivered to the table. I absolutely love the Cuban sandwiches and the plantain chips! Every time I visit I alway make sure to order the plantain chips as they are sliced thin and are very crispy! We also like the meat pies and guava/strawberry and cheese pastries. Recently we had them make a Cuban sandwich and meat pie platter for a small gathering and they did not disappoint! Love the coffee. Bold and smooth. Not too sweet. Perfect to enjoy with the flan. Took some flan home and my boys inhaled them. The ham croquettes were tiny . Too tiny for my taste but it was tasty. Crawfish ball on the other hand were size perfectly. Have a little kick but not too much heat. I like more heat but it's just me. The potato balls are at the same size with the crawfish balls. Similar to my Indonesian beef croquettes. Ours shaped in oblongs, theirs into ball shapes. It's enough for a quick lunch. 2 of them.. . Well maybe 3 or 4 depending on how hangry you are. Definitely worth to try. Next time I will try the pastry. But I really do like the coffee. The place was pretty solid busy at lunch when we went. And the flow of customers were pretty good.
