I come here for cakes desserts but this time i tried their ala carte menu. They serve breakfast all day as well. I tried their omelet. It was good and generous. Their coffee is very good and we tried the sebastian cheesecake Place is always clean and service is good!!

Plain croissants marked $4.90, but they round up to $5.00 on the actual sales receipt.

I really wanted to love Selda Bakery, like so many other reviewers. But sadly, I wasn't able to go above 3 stars. I found that although the restaurant itself and the goods they sell are overall quite beautiful, I really didn't see items that I would actually buy. I felt the prices were soooo overpriced. Finally saw some plain croissants marked at $4.90 and ended up ordering one plain. The girl assisting asked if we wanted anything else and pointed to a rolling tray that had a bunch of filled croissant behind the counter. I asked what flavors and I know there was chocolate or strawberry and so I also ordered a strawberry croissant. The strawberry croissant only had a strawberry flavored filling inside, with only one slice of real strawberry on top. It was just okay. It's really strange because my plain croissant rang up for $5.00 (even), although the display price tag said $4.90. I guess they round up? Since I ordered the strawberry croissant that wasn't yet stocked in the case and I never saw the price tag, it rang up as $6.00. My total receipt listed plain croissant $5.00 + strawberry croissant $6.00 = $11.00, then showed 0 tax but my bill came to $12.00. ??? I'm so confused??? The croissants were good, but no where close to being the best I ever had. I enjoy the plain butter croissants at La Madeleine and they are only $3.49 and they are nice and flaky and might even taste better than these. So, for $1.50 savings I don't think I need to return here. Shoot, I can buy a 6 pack of large croissants at HEB for $6.98 and they are really good. I will say that the packaging materials are VERY nice and probably very expensive. But why would they spend so much on something that it just going to be thrown in the trash!?! I mean, a 4 color embossed box for my 2 take out croissants and a color shopping bag. They do include a wet cloth that has a nice scent inside a package, which was way better than a napkin in my opinion. My overall impression was that Selda Bakery is really beautiful and great for "Instagram worthy" pics but waaaay overpriced and not worth the money in my humble opinion.

I dream about this Lotus Cheesecake... I came here thinking it was just a bakery/dessert shop and boy was I wrong! They are also a Mediterranean grill with friendly service! I highly recommend the Pesto Ravioli with some sprinkles of their red Turkish spice on the table

The ambiance of this place was very pretty, yet comfortable. You can sit here and yap do over an hour like me and my gf did lol we ordered a pistachio mouse cake to share since we both had never been here and honestly ? It was extremely good. I'm not the biggest fan of pistachios -- not enough to like, have it in a cake lol -- but i actually really enjoyed it ! The fruit on top was delicious and tasted fresh and the pistachio mousse was sooo creamy and light. It was the perfect dessert after our dinner. The service was quick as well a they pick up your plates. They had a lot of bakery items and even gelato. I'm interested in trying their Turkish hot chocolate and Turkish coffee next time.

Selda Bakery recently opened in the Dal Riche shopping center at the southeast corner of Coit and Belt Line in Richardson, TX. I met my group here on a Saturday morning. We were initially sitting at a couple of tables. Some had ordered drinks, some had indulged in a pastry, and others chose not to get anything. We were asked to relocate to the plush pink couches since it was 11 a.m. and the bakery wanted to reserve the tables for customers wanting to order breakfast. Honestly, I didn't even know that was an option because no waitstaff visited our table to provide me with a menu. My understanding is that if you want food or drink, you go to the counter to select, order, and pay. In fact, this is what I did. I got the pistachio croissant and a hot chocolate. Both were presented beautifully. The croissant was large and fluffy with bits of green cream oozing from the filling hole at the top. It was dusted with powdered sugar and had small buts of pistachio too. I was given a fork and a plate and carried it to the couch area. It was impossible to eat with just a fork. Another in my group got a knife and attempted to cut bite size pieces. In the end, we both ended up picking up our croissants and eating them by hand. I had little flakes of filo all over my chest. It's a messy affair, but delicious. The hot cocoa was served with mini marshmallows and a rim of sugary green pistachio dust. The chocolate filled pirouette on top could be used as a stir stick, but I simply ate it as is. The covered rim made a mess of my mouth. There is no way to eat and drink elegantly here. There will be crumbs! I would not recommend this place for large groups. It's a great place to meet a friend or two for a drink and perhaps indulge in one of their desserts. They have tables lined along the big picture window both inside and outside. Considering how extreme the weather in north Texas is most of the year, most people will probably be dining inside. The outside table area has a nice fence and plants around it to separate it from the sidewalk. Visually, the place is relaxed and appealing, even when it is busy.

We went to Selda Bakery -- the environment is very pretty and service was good. The pastries tasted fresh, and we enjoyed having tea. The tea cups weren't very clean, which was a downside. Also, seating was limited , we couldn't sit at any table we wanted since we only ordered pastries and not full meals. We tried pistachio and walnut baklava, the King pastry (gluten-free and fresh), and a cheesecake that was a little too sweet. Overall, a nice spot with fresh pastries, just a few small things to improve.

Absolutely horrendous service from staff. Been to this location multiple times since open and one thing I notice here is that they are notoriously bad at taking orders from waiting customers. My friends and I have had multiple issues with tracking who paid for what dessert or what meal because you cannot get the simplicity of using a kiosk checkout process. The lack of professionalism is also a great issue here. In the earlier days of being open, they would tell customers who came in 30 to 40 minutes prior to their posted close time -- 2 AM originally before they shifted hours -- to leave because the inside was not busy and they wanted to close early. The managers have been seen lecturing other workers while customers are present. This is totally unacceptable for both employees and paying customers to witness. The food is very overpriced for certain desserts and definitely outlandish for the Turkish Breakfast, which used to be $29.95 (see picture for proof) and is now $99. The food is mediocre compared to the abundance of Turkish restaurants in the DFW area. The tea is not great and tastes almost stale most nights, lacking clarity and flavor. I also had an experience where I sat inside for about 15 minutes before anyone came to my table to take my order, and that was only after I flagged them down. Within those few minutes, they had closed the kitchen and could not place my order.

I am wowed by Selda Bakery for many reasons. First, the place is visually stunning too ok he a bakery. Beautiful gold lighting hanging all throughout the space, fun modern furniture in soft colors, trees created in multiple places within the bakery, and a stuffed tiger. It's fun, hip, and trendy. The employees are all very nice and happy to help you make a selection. A couple in front of me was tasting some sweets before buying. Just a great overall atmosphere! I bought the chocolate croissant, and I was not disappointed. The chocolate was light and delicious. The croissant was flaky and perfect. I cannot wait to come back and take the time to site and take in the experience (my order tonight was to-go). I know my grandkids are going to love this place!

I tried out this bakery with some friends yesterday. The got the gluten free pistachio cake and I got the lotus cheese cake. They were both truly amazing in flavor. They also served us hot tea which went really well with the pastries. The place is also beautifully designed inside and outside and has an outdoor patio. The staff also seemed very friendly and we appreciated their kind treatment while at the store.

Nice atmosphere. Good to see the place pretty busy at 10 pm on a Thursday. Desserts - cheesecake was okay. Pricey for the quality. Pleasant service and ambiance.

Friendly and helpful counter service. Desserts are a work of art at this bakery. Delicious pistachio baklava and coconut cream cake. Highly recommend them both.

Stopped by on way home for a sweet treat. The interior was so cute inside perfect for a fun friend meet up. Or a quick refresher. So many yummy items, when I walked in at 4 pm not busy but no one working seemed to acknowledge me. I had to ask someone to help me even though customers coming in after me got a lot of attention. In asking about the yummy desserts, young man finally helping me seemed not to know or maybe language barrier. Dropped off the item I picked up at a friend who is home bound so not sure how yummy but the dessert smelted delicious. Packaging was very impressive and could be the reason for high cost of the treat.

This classy new bakery with a great vibe has now opened in Richardson at the corner of Coit Rd & Beltline. I visited tonight and the owner told me this was there 5th "official" day open. Walking in, the place is striking and also a bit overwhelming. Breath deep, relax, and take it in because there is a lot going on in here. They have gelato, tarts, cookies, chocolates and more! I ordered a Strawberry Tart. The tart was fantastic! On my most recent is it, I ordered the Cheese Omelette, it was also delicious!

Fortunately, if you're not dining in, ordering from the to-go line is very quick, and there's even a comfy seating area in the front where you can enjoy your food and beverages. In addition to a double shot espresso I ordered, I also got a broccoli mac and cheese croissant. The croissant was expensive ($7.50), but it's hearty enough to be a meal. I wasn't offered an option to toast up the pastry, but I didn't particularly mind the coldness of the mac and cheese component of the pastry. The croissant surrounding the filling was flakey with nicely laminated layers. Meanwhile, the filling was satisfyingly salty and rich. Although the pastry was tasty, it's probably something I would only try once -- rather than something I would get regularly, due to how heavy the pastry ate. Overall, if you're looking for skillfully prepared, creative pastries, La Casita Bakeshop definitely fits the bill.

I made a reservation for my friend and I a few days early because they tend to get busy, and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was attentive and very friendly, and understood exactly what I wanted when I placed an order of the baked goods before anything else, since those tend to sell out as the morning progresses. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich special and was so excited I forgot to take a picture! The place was busy but the volume was never so loud that my friend and I felt the need to raise our voices, and the smell of freshly baked bread was very comforting. We left feeling satisfied and with plenty of leftovers. The price was also extremely reasonable, except for the box of desserts I ordered to go lol we did give the olive oil cake a try before departing, and it was delightful. Can't wait to get another chance to come back!

It was SO special. We haven't been back in many years and not only did that magical original location close, but what we found instead was this monstrosity of a location that felt hyper corporatized and commercial--in other words, soulless. Listen, we don't begrudge them their success. And we were so happy for them when we saw them being mentioned in the NYT a few years ago. But now Bigdash has gone full American--they've expanded to multiple locations, the quality has gone down, and that je-ne-sais-quoi magic is completely gone. We came here yesterday after a stellar meal at Khashoka, excited since it's been so long since our last visit. We walked in (it was freezing) and the whole place looked like a Disney-ified version of the original Big Dash. There was one woman working, and she was very friendly, but what a different experience than mingling with the original owners in the unpretentious cozy ambience. The worst part is that the ice cream is nowhere near as good! The original Arabic ice cream's level of rose water was off and the ice cream's stretchiness felt less organically created. The pistachio was OK. Our daughter got this crazy container of small individual frozen fruit shapes that were covered in chocolate. Those felt cute and special and we liked them all except for the grape. Again, we're happy for Bigdash's success. They deserve it. But we will not be back again because what we loved so much about this place is no longer. Tis the American way, alas! Three stars and sincere best wishes to them.
