Macaron layered with pastry cream and raspberries
    Kelsey E.

After a day of shopping, we stopped in here to get a treat, and my friend I was with is gluten-free so she was excited to see a gluten-free bakery in the galleria! This place is so cute and kitschy and had a wide variety of option and the desserts were beautiful it was hard to choose! The girl at the counter was sweet and friendly, and recommended a few items for us so we tried the pistachio layer cake and the macaron custard cake. We took them to go and ate them in our hotel and they were delicious! I am not gluten free and I loved mine and would definitely go back!

This is a charming little coffee shop in the Galleria. I ordered a chai latte, which was smooth and creamy, though I wished it had a bit more chai flavor since I love chai of any kind. They have a decent selection of desserts and pastries, all of which looked very delicious. I tried an apple turnover, and it was flaky and buttery with a sweet apple filling. I loved it! The friendly baristas let me take all the time to decide what I wanted since it was my first time here. There are a few tables inside. If you're not in a big hurry, take a seat and enjoy your beverage and pastry.

Gluten free French treats ! I am so glad I found this place, so many gluten free options amidst non gluten free so no one feels left out. It was also a cute little cafe with art all around. I got the berry tart and the lemon tart, both gluten free of course. They also had gluten free tiramisu, and a raspberry cake along with many more goodies. Also got an oatmilk cappuccino. The lady who served us was kind as well. Definitely will be coming back!

This bakery opened two weeks ago on the first floor of Galleria Mall, next to Louis Vuitton (temporary location) and Sephora. It's a cute little place with contemporary Paris flair. They were offering free samples of their croissants and other baked goods, and the croissants were on point! Since we were already full I ordered the croissant, chocolate croissant, and a few Madeline cookies to go, I will try the coffee next round and update this review. The cookies were fluffy and guaranteed to hit the spot with a cup of coffee or tea. Service is wonderful, the owner stopped by every table to ask how everything was. This will definitely be our usual pit stop for fresh baked goods in the future. Too many items I'm excited to try.

Apple turnover....amazing! The best I've had.

I happen to pass by this bakery while I was shopping. I couldn't help but stop in because it smelled so great from outside. It smelled like a traditional Paris bakery. The gentleman was quick to help me, and the croissant was so buttery and flaky, the texture was perfect, the apple turnover was the best. Very lovely bakery inside Galleria Mall just down the hall from banana Republic.

We came in for a quick treat and a mid afternoon coffee pick me up. We got the vanilla latte, it was made really well! We also picked up some bakery treats, all which were made well. I got the mini kouign amann and the raisin bakery roll with custard filling, both were buttery and flaky. I felt that both were a bit on the sweet side, so taking down the sweetness will probably help bring out the richness of both treats. The owner was super friendly, and told us he makes everything in-house, which is very impressive given the number of items for sale. If you are in the area, this is definitely one to try in the Galleria.

Apple Maps…read moretook me into a parking garage even though there is a ground-level parking lot, so keep that in mind if you are coming for the first time! The place has a variety of seating, is clean, and isn't too loud. There were a lot of people studying and working. I didn't have the best experience. They had their Fall drinks written on the menu and then after explaining to me what the Johnny cakes latte tastes like, they told me it wasn't available until Tuesday, which was misleading. I tried to order a seasonal peach tea drink, and they told me they were out of it. At this point, I was frustrated and got the golden latte, which tasted awful. It was so ginger-y and not smooth at all. It tasted like the equivalent of a tough-to-get-down juice shot. I ordered a breakfast veggie sandwich, which wasn't bad, but my friend and I both ordered it for dine-in, and for some reason mine came out in a to-go box. This was super odd and there wasn't an apology or anything. The sandwich was okay - the avocados weren't ripe yet and were kind of hard. The brioche was good, but $10 for something I could throw together at home in 5 mins was unimpressive. Overall, I won't be back. Ascension in Frisco has seriously the best service, with an expanded menu, and coming here was so subpar and disappointing.

That said, once we arrived, it was absolutely packed to the brim. Every table was full, including a private conference room, and the space itself isn't small at all. I imagine it's a bit easier to find seating when the weather is nicer, but today was freezing, which made their six outdoor tables completely unusable. My mom ordered the chocolate croissant and said it was the best she's had at any coffee shop I've taken her to. We had it warmed, and it was incredibly rich and indulgent. The coffee was fine--nothing memorable--but the matcha was to die for. They had about six people working in a very small space, and despite that, service held up well considering how busy it was. The crowd skewed younger, with lots of people posted up working for long stretches. Definitely a long-haul seating kind of place. The vibe was great: louder music, energetic atmosphere, and it somehow all worked. There's also a stuffy (quiet) room available for rent if you need it. Matcha rating: 8/10. Second best matcha I've had in Dallas so far--better than La La Land, but still not topping Tried & True Stellar, which remains my #1. This place has real character--very local, very lived-in. I'd come back 100%, probably earlier in the day to snag better seating, since once people sit down here, they really settle in.

The wave of Muslim owned coffee shops are definitely taking the country by a storm and we are absolutely here for supporting our local coffee roasters and business owners as well giving wings to much needed social third spaces. La Souq is located in the heart of Richardson right on Main Street. With ample parking and lots of seating both indoors and outdoors, this establishment really sets itself apart as a perfect place to unwind and have a little pick me up. I especially love the neutral earthy tones of the interior, blending timelessly and giving an elegant and airy, open vibe to the entire space. If I lived in Dallas i would be here every weekend with my laptop. The cashiers are always super kind and friendly, always greeting you with a smile. I haven't tried any of their baked goods because I am religiously a matcha girly through and through. The matchas I've gotten here have been pretty good for the most part but the quality does vary slightly depending on who is making them. The vanilla matcha had no sweetness to it whatsoever which was very odd. Same goes for the fig matcha, the syrup was just not cutting it in flavor and the whole drink felt very milk heavy. I always ask for an extra shot of matcha and they just two times my drink just wasn't made strong enough. However, this past weekend I finally got my wish with the strawberry matcha which was made very very well and I was blessed with the extra matcha just as I like it. I think they should definitely work on standardizing drink consistency and quality to keep repeat patrons happy. Other than that I find this to be a wonderful gathering spot where my cousin and I love to come hang out and enjoy being around community and people of all walks of life.
