My visit was all about the beignets! They are made to order. So enjoyable fresh and warm! These things are huge and super tasty! My daughter and I really enjoyed them and will definitely be back to eat some more. We also tried there maple and glazed donuts everything was amazing! Came by for a visit looking for the best apple fritter (good size and amount of apple and crispy on the outside) for Father's Day and it delivered! It was late on a Sunday morning so we got the last apple fritter but there was still a good variety. The little shop was clean and had a few tables if you want to eat there. I bought a dozen of different kinds of donuts here and they were all delicious! Most donuts are always pretty good to me, but these were beyond "normally good" donuts imo. My favorites were the apple fritter and blueberry but all varieties were fantastic! I did not try any of the chocolate varieties. read more

I'm in LOVE!! I came here on a quiet Thursday morning at 7am to get a dozen beignets for my co workers. I called ahead to put in my order and when I arrived I was greeted by the owner Kay (or K). Kay was extremely happy, friendly, professional and completely amazing. I felt so special when I came in as a customer. We chatted about life as her pastry chef finished off frying my beignets and she completely made me feel at home. I told her I found out about her shop through my cousins and I hadn't had a beignet since I was 13. I told her I just wanted a little bit of powdered sugar on my beignets and she said okay! They were so fluffy and hot when I got them!! They were amazing!!! These are the best beignets in DFW hands down. When I was leaving Kay called me back and she told me she just made dinosaur donuts for a 4 year old and she wanted me to take picture of them for Instagram and I surely did! I feel like I became her friend in the 20 minutes I was there with her. Not only that she gave me some free samples. Beignets are great. No need to fly to New Orleans to eat it. I usually call and order before I go, because it takes 4-5 minutes to cook the beignets. Other donuts are ready to go. Beignets were delicious, authentic, and BIG! They make them fresh after you order, so they were piping hot and fantastic. I had no idea what the Boudin Kolache was going to be but I tried it! Turned out to be cajun sausage & dirty rice baked inside a bun. Very tasty, I can see myself getting a weekend craving for these. We drove a mile and a half further than we needed to just because this place was rated 4.5 stars. We got there and asked about their sandwiches and croissants and were told they didn't sell sandwiches or croissants anymore. We went with kolaches, jalapeño and cheddar. Got home and noticed that the top of them were glossy and sticky almost like they were brushed with something sweet. They were terrible. Although I've been here several times, I finally tried their regular glazed donuts and they were delicious! They are slightly larger, soft, and fluffier than other donuts I have tried. I could not be more impressed with Cajun Donuts II. In trying to place a donut order for my son's birthday party, I was unable to reach Cajun Donuts by phone. I sent a message request in through their website and heard back from Andy within the hour. He confirmed our order right away and even called back to clarify that he had the order exactly how we wanted it. We emailed back and forth a few times and he made it clear that he was happy to serve our needs and to do the job well. Andy was very thorough, professional, organized, and made me feel over and over again that our order was on his radar and would be ready when we needed it. He went above and beyond!! I rarely stray away from Shipleys but this is a good friendly local neighborhood donut shop. The beignets are freshly made and the donuts and kolaches were pretty good. My home being as close as it is to Cajun Donuts II is one of it's greatest attributes. My kids are crazy for the variety of sprinkled donuts, some of which even come with a full on toy on top. The donut love of my life is the maple bacon bar. It's got a massive amount of chopped bacon on top of delicious maple frosting all atop a fresh bar donut. It's perfect. They also make fresh beignets, some humongous pastries with all the makings of a breakfast dish inside, some with cajun sausage plus they can fill any donut with jelly or cream right in front of you. The flavors and textures are exceptional. Clearly they use higher quality ingredients. No waxy lingering feeling or flavor I so often experience at other shops. The chocolate is downright indulgent. Donut holes are perfect. The cinnamon roll is to die for. They also have a cinnamon glazed twist and old fashioned. Just wow good every time.
