I was visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Dallas, TX. I love apple fritters and looked at several ratings for donut shops in Dallas near their home. I visited Texan Donuts which is located in a light manufacturing and warehouse area in Garland. The store is located in a small strip shopping center. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a friendly staff person (may have been the owner). I told him it was my first visit to their store. I ordered an apple fritter and a few donuts. One of the donuts was a pumpkin spice cake donut for my daughter. She is still raving about this donut. The apple fritter was very good and filled with pieces of apples. If you love donuts, you need to give this donut shop a try! read more

The best apple fritters I've ever had. And the guy behind the counter was very nice and helpful.

I hit up Texan Donuts in Garland at 5 in the morning right after they opened. This was the standard donut shop and I was happily in and out. Expect all traditional classic donuts if you go. I ate a couple when I got home and these donuts had to grow on me. They weren't terrible, but I've had so much better. The sweetness was nice, however the texture and flavor of the glazed donut could use some improvement. The cake and old fashioned was slightly better. These donuts did hold up well over many hours which is good. read more

Looking at this place from the street view, you would not know they have some of the best donuts in town, but I'm here to tell you that they do! They have a full variety from simple to elaborate and everything in between & they give free donut holes with your order for free! What a bargain! The staff is nice, the prices are very reasonable, and the donuts are delicious! read more

Smells like shit outside of the local and the area looks nasty I didn't try it because it was really disgusting

Awesome hole-in-the-wall donut shop! I do recommend coming early because you can tell everyone comes here. I came around 8-9am so not too early and they were already out of chocolate glazed, so I settled for a chocolate sprinkled donut and it was just as good as any chocolate donut I've ever had. Also, the kolaches were made to my liking. Everything from the bread, to the sausage & cheese, it was all good best put. Overall, would definitely recommend to anyone in the area! read more

It was my first time at the establishment. I was really craving donuts midday, so I arrived near closing. I was still able to find a decent assortment. The staff were courteous and friendly. I ordered a couple of cake donuts. The donuts were relatively fresh and most importantly, delicious! Unfortunately the donuts did not survive long enough for me to take a picture :) read more

I work right up the road from here, and this place has certainly made a loyal customer of me. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!!! Kolaches are terrific, their donuts are even better (just had a strawberry and cream filling donut which was 10/10). I especially love the upbeat classical music they play every morning when you walk in. This place will definitely be a regular go-to breakfast place for me read more

Seriously. One of the best in Dallas. Great Service and really tasty donuts and kolaches.

I had a croissant with bacon egg and cheese and it was delicious. So was the fritter- super moist and tasty. The lady serving me was very polite and helpful. I look forward to returning here. read more

After several attempts to go to this place, me and my boys finally made it! The ladies are very nice, gave boys special donut holes & even went back and decorated a donut they were out of. They boys were thrilled about getting Spider-Man, m&m & Cookie Monster donuts! Mom was super excited about the spinach & cheese pastry. I honestly couldn't wait to stop and taste it. After praying for a red light, me and the boys had a little taste. So amazing! We will definitely be back! read more

Cronut was one of the best I've had in the area! Unfortunately cinnamon sugar is your only option but it's well worth a try. The cronut is actually crispy all throughout yet moist on the inside. The lamination was impressive. Ugh. Amazing. The apple fritter was alright the peanuts in the fritter was interesting. The cinnamon roll and donut holes were perfectly chewy and yeasty! A+ to this donut stop! read more

Really amazing customer service, I will definitely come again the donuts are fresh and warm and fluffy the croissants are amazing crispy and a larger size compared to the common locations I went to.I enjoyed the location will become my new go to donut place read more

My friend brought Texan's sausage, cheese and jalapeno kolaches to work, and I tried to resist (because I love Donut Time)... but resistance proved futile. Generously sized, fluffy pastry, a whollop of heat and flavor from the diced peppers. Perfection. read more

The owner is super sweet and friendly. Ive only been in twice but she remembers me and ask me how my mom is doing. Awww! I love her matcha and espresso donuts especially! theyre all gooey and delicious. She closes at noon, too early and I wish she was open on Sunday so I can pick some up on the way to Dallas for church on Sunday mornings. read more

Every once in a while, if I've left home early enough to make it to work early, I'll stop by Texan Donuts and pick me up a buttermilk cake donut. This place is the best. They have glazed donut holes on the counter for gorging (most would call it sampling). I'm downing them as indiscreetly as I can, while they're putting my donut in a bag and they've put another half a dozen donut holes in the bag with your donut. SCORE. It's run by Koreans and they're Christians, if you have a praise or prayer request, you can write it on a post-it and put it on their board. They're super nice. Always busy, always good donuts. I'll let you know if I ever get a bad donut. You'll know. It'll be like a tornado siren. read more

Amazing little place. They have the best donuts in town, but it's the apple fritters that keep me coming back. Fast, friendly service, and you get free donut holes with your purchase. read more

Ignore the scary shopping center, this place is great. Fluffy yeast donut holes, delicious Bavarian cream and cream cheese, and even a little sample of her fritters up by the cash register. Had difficulty understanding her descriptions of everything, but winged it and they were all good. Loved the spinach cheese danish! read more

Texan Donuts - Happy Birthday Donuts - Donuts Near Me - Garland, Texas

Today I was finally able to find what I've been searching for in the Dallas area for over 10 yrs. I've gone to many different donut shops over the years in search of an actual apple fritter that actually contained apples. I've been lied to and misled time after time by many proprietors as they only wanted to sell their false goods to get customers out the door and make that elusive sell. But not today! Today I found the Holy Grail of apple fritters from the most charming and yet unassuming of places. Although the donuts there looked great, I was there for the apple fritter. I asked the young lady behind the counter if they had apple fritters. She replied with a "Yes, we do". I then asked if they had apples in them and she gave me a look as if I asked if water is wet. She replied to me that they "had a ton of apples in them" She did not lie and I was definitely not disappointed. The apple fritter, although thinner I was used to, had a wonderful light bread texture that was laced with cinnamon and diced apples. The fritter reminded me of a cross between a cinnamon roll and an apple cobbler/pie. As I took that first bite, I felt like the critic on that Ratatouille movie. I savored that bite and the one after that only to finally find that it was soon gone. I had only bought 1 and soon regretted not having another as the fritter was devoured way to soon. Texan Donuts - Please whatever you do..Do not change the way that you make these because the only way it can get better is if they were bigger! Thank you guys for your dedication to your craft. If I could give you a 10 I would. read more

Very small donut shop carrying some unique donuts. I'm not a big fan of overly sweet dessert or too much sugary stuff donuts. My fav place for donuts is in Garland.. read more

I find it a bit pricey but for customized donuts, i guess it's the standard. Maybe their regular donuts are cheaper, but I haven't tried those. The donuts itself were soft and better than most donut places. Again, they were able to customize the donuts to spell out Happy Birthday, they looked good. It was something different for a birthday, although a cake would have been cheaper. read more

Cute little shop. It's clean and bright inside, and I like the vibe it gives off. They have cute donuts with different designs. I bought one with with a little bunny for my sister. We also got little donut bites for free,They have free samples at the front and I had a taste of the apple fritter. It was delicious. read more

Very sweet and nice people. Also has great bakery goods. I always get a sausage roll and a couple doughnuts.

Wow, the donuts here are good!! Someone else suggested anything with cream cheese frosting or Bavarian cream and they were right! 7 of us tried different donuts- including a watermelon flavored one and they were all yummy. Their breakfast sandwiches were really good too. Everything had beautiful presentation. It's a hole in the wall - and well worth it! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It has great breakfast foods and the usual assortment of donuts BUT what sets it apart is the donut "works of art" that are also available! Some of the donut creations are absolutely exquisitely decorated and taste YUMMY as well! So many pretty designs; in fact, I saw donuts that had been baked into the shapes of letters and spelled "Happy Birthday" while being cutely, smartly decorated. This place is WELL WORTH the trip to give your senses of sight, smell, and taste an exciting boost! Thanks Texan Donuts for making my day every time I come in there!!! read more

Great donuts! Dunno what she does, but anything with cream cheese or Bavarian cream is out of this world. Loved the stuffed cronuts and spinach danish creation. Would be better with sign/description of each though as I had trouble understanding the owner. Also wish they had some seating but eating in my car was fine too read more

Just love this place. Have been coming here for years. Everything is great and the employees are very friendly. You wont be disappointed.

Recently ordered a large quantity for our wedding . They were beautiful!!! Every single donut was perfect , not even a crooked drip !! When we first arrived and the owner had found out we drove so far , she gave us breakfast and also threw in extra donuts for the wedding order. Everyone in our family was skeptical that we ordered donuts for a wedding , but when they saw them , they couldn't believe them . We lived in the Dallas area and had tried several different "high end " bakeries and donut shops , her unique flavors and designs make your mouth water before you can even Take a bite !! This place is amazing And deserves all the business she can get!!! read more
