Ever since the nice elderly Korean woman sold this place to the new girls, all of the food has declined dramatically. This place used to have the best apple fritters in the area. They were so full of apple, that it would sometimes crumble a bit when you picked it up. Now, they're flat and overly cooked with a crunchy bottom -- it's awful. The same goes for all of the other donuts here. They used to be fluffy and airy, and not they're dense and the outside has crunch to it. It's a travesty. Will no longer be coming here. read more

This used to be our go to donut place. Since the new management took over, this place sucks. Their food is below average, price is above average and they are so stingy with the what they give you. In the past if you ordered something from them, they would give free donut holes to kids. Now they charge you for everything. Most of the time they just say oh we don't have any. There are 10 other donut places nearby, I would rather try someone new than paying these people my hard earned money for mediocre food. Really nice owner! Loved the lady who checked me out who gave me plenty of suggestions. Got a dozen of mixed speciality donuts for $12. They were a major fan of the kids in my 8th grade class! Tasted great. Also have kolaches, made with pork. Their card reader wasn't working so I was forced to pay cash. Kind of a pain to deal with when you're in a rush but no problem otherwise. This is a new neighborhood shop that recently opened. It is located caddy-corner to a Wal-Mart Neighborhood store on a main Garland road - Broadway and LaPrada is the nearest intersection. The location is small with a come and go feel. They do have a table and four chairs available if you must eat your donut there. They have the standard donut shop fare - donuts (some specialty ones, too), fritters, breakfast tacos, biscuits, etc. Their prices are reasonable, as well. Sun Donuts - Kolaches, Filled Donut and more - Donuts Near Me - Garland, Texas

I remember the kolaches being so good at Sun donuts. Sadly they're no longer the same and the quality seems to have gone down. The kolaches used to be medium size little mounds, light, fluffy and no glaze on top. Now the kolaches are the opposite: small and glazed on top; and the quality is just worse. Not sure why the kolaches changed. The kolaches on their yelp page are no longer the same ones. You can see the difference in my pictures. Very sad the quality change in their kolaches since I used to love the old ones. read more

I absolutely love this donut shop. Having it right next to my house is honestly a blessing. I love stopping there on busy mornings before school or work. I always get the jalapeño kolache & the wonderful cashier/maybe owner always has it ready for me when she sees me walk in the door. The donuts are good too! I believe the hours say they close at 12:30 but they are always open much later. I always love seeing her happy attitude and smile early in the morning. I live fairly close to this location so had to give it a try! Honestly, its just like any other local donut shop. Nothing really stands out to me more than others.
