Had a late lunch and found this place by chance using Yelp. Stash's Table & Fable is a cute restaurant with its own library! Staff was very friendly, especially Jeff and the cashier (didn't catch her name but I think it's the owner's daughter). - fresh lemonade (peach flavor) was refreshing - The pulled pork BBQ sandwich was delicious! Chose the pasta salad as a side which was also good. - got an additional side of crispy brussel sprouts! Dessert was unique: white chocolate BACON bread pudding - really enjoyed this! We love coming here! Usually when we do markets for downtown forney we treat ourselves to Stash's. Owner is very nice. You can see them make food fresh. Our favorite treat is the bread pudding. The best!! Great place to check out if in Forney! read more

This place is so darn cute! A wall full of books to read while you wait, a family working together to provide a great experience, and can't forget the yummy food! Kids eat free on Wednesdays which is what brought us in, and we'll be back. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the brussel sprouts were incredible. read more

Service was ok. Server didn't return after meal was delivered. We chose to sit at their outside patio. The patio was not kept up. Cute patio with one seating area had a glass table and soft sofa style outdoor love seating. The seating was not kept up. Limbs and seed droppings from tree we cleared by us to sit. The food tasted good, however the pulled pork in my street tacos was not fresh and the meat was dried out. I took my daughter and 1 year old grandson to Stash because it's a cute little book nook cafe but could improve tremendously with clean patio seating and fresh meat in street tacos. The wine country burger is so good. The hamburger is so very tasty, one of the best in this area. The Brussel sprouts are crispy, tangy and just perfect. I'm not fond of bread pudding but theirs could change my mind. It's an open kitchen, so you can chat with the chef while he's cooking your food. The owners are very nice. The lending library is a nice touch. The floors are left over from Crumbzz, and are uneven. That is the only thing I truly dislike. read more

Interesting concept for a burger place. Great food, service, and ambiance. Has a coffee shop feel with a "take a book, leave one" library. Everything was fresh and made to order;no skimping with the ingredients. Most places offer a mediocre salad if it's not their specialty, but not here. Pleasantly surprised with the flavor and generous heaping of toppings in their juicy burger with a logo branded bun. Can't go wrong with anything off their menu. This was my first time going here. I ordered the cheeseburger and it was arguably the best burger I've had. The service was good, the ambiance was like being in someone's home, in a relaxing way. The only problem for me, as an older lady I have major back issues and the seating exacerbated the problem. But I say, no problem. I'll just order online and have it delivered or, if I'm nearby, I'll just take it to go. A friend had ordered some Brussels sprouts to snack on and they were very good. I can't wait to try some of their other offerings. I'll just pick it up and take it home. If you don't have back problems, I think you'll find the experience there different and casual. So Good!! This place is awesome! The food, service and atmosphere is amazing! We had the Brussels sprouts, elote,smokehouse burger, and pimento cheese bacon burger. Each one was delicious. Burgers were juicy and all the ingredients were fresh! Everything was well priced especially for the quality and flavor. The White Chocolate Bacon Bread Pudding has to be the best dessert I have had. My wife and I paid a visit to this restaurant and were very pleased. Let me start with the "Smokehouse burger". It arrived with chips and was a perfectly cooked beef patty. The bun was also top notch, and the restaurant named branding was a nice touch. This burger is a perfectly balanced masterpiece with top quality beef, perfectly smoked pulled pork, caramelized onions and tasty BBQ sauce. I can't overstate how much I enjoyed this burger from start to the last bite. Even the chips were on par with the best I've ever had. My wife had the "Charcuterie salad" which was an explosion of flavored goodness. We also tried the "Crispy Brussels Sprouts" which AGAIN these guys hit out of the park! They are sweet and tangy, with an almost Asian flare. Lastly, Robert the owner asked if I would like to order dessert, to which I declined. To our surprise, he showed up at our table with an order of their "White Chocolate Bacon Bread Pudding". After the first bite I realized what a big mistake I had made in declining this heavenly creation. All I can say is DO NOT leave without trying this menu item. Some suggestions I have to make the dining experience on par with the excellent cuisine: 1. Re-think your dining setup as it could be more inviting for guests that want to dine in. 2. Add a side of some of those pickles to your burger orders. This would not only add to the meal, but would help promote sails of your Jarred offerings. 3. Include more salad dressing with your salads In conclusion, I hope this place does well and sticks around for a long time. New in town (literally moving day) and was craving BBQ, and someone had mentioned Stash's, so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, the Street Tacos, the Smokehouse Burger, the White Chocolate Bacon Bread Pudding and the French Vanilla Tiramisu. OMG I'm drooling as I write this review! It was "Slap Your Mama" good! Our favs were EVERYTHING, but most especially the Smokehouse Burger and the White Chocolate Bacon Bread Pudding. I swear we died and went to Food Heaven! Stash's is a walk up to the counter & order establishment, so service isn't really much of a factor. It is family owned and everyone is very nice. The walls are decorated with paintings from a local artist and one large wall is composed of big, beautiful bookshelves filled with books. The menu is limited, but I'm guessing they know what they do well and that's what they serve. The food: Wine country burger-well seasoned and delicious. Would love to see other side options instead of chips be included. Crispy Brussels Sprouts-these come with freshly grated Parmesan cheese & a balsamic glaze. They are crispy and tasty! Went here with my family. 2 babies. Very friendly environment. Service was excellent and the food was delicious! Had the wine country burger, kids meals, charcuterie, Brussels, tiramisu, bread pudding and the smokehouse burger too! It was all incredible! Brussels we all couldn't get enough of them. I am not a desert person but someone ordered the bread pudding for the table and I couldn't stop eating it. 10/10 desert.
