Wifey and I stopped by Nina's Brunch in Forney around 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20. The place was pretty busy when we arrived, but we were seated immediately in a nice, quiet spot toward the back of the restaurant. Our server was quick to greet us, brought our waters right away, and kept our drinks filled throughout the meal. I ordered the Monte Cristo, and it was fantastic. If I see a Monte Cristo on a menu, there's a good chance I'm ordering it--it always takes me back to the old Bennigan's days. Nina's version did not disappoint. My wife ordered the loaded hash brown plate with over-easy eggs. She enjoyed it, although it had quite a few onions. Overall, both meals were very good. With both entrées, a coffee, and a pomegranate mimosa, our total came to just $38.40. For the quality of the food, the friendly service, and the reasonable price, we'd definitely come back. read more

The food here is delicious! There is a wide variety to choose from breakfast to lunch menu items. This is a very busy restaurant but the customer service doesn't fail. You can conveniently get "in line" online for seating. This is very casual dining family friendly, the atmosphere is a bit noisy because of the customer chatter and the music being played but bearable. I'd recommend because of the food and service. I enjoy visiting this spot after a good workout at the gym, where I get oatmeal to refuel. Parking is usually easy, though it might get busier and more hectic at times. Although the place is small, the place runs smoothly because everyone works efficiently, so there are no issues. Sky has been my waitress on my last few visits; she's very kind, greets me with smiles and compliments, and makes sure I am well taken care of. Beware, It's smaller than most restaurant burritos and unfortunately the Chorizo was tasteless, no spices, no flavor, although had the delicious orange grease chorizo should, don't know what happened. Second I told them to give my brother his food first since he was almost late to work and they brought the food to me first. I love hashbrowns, but these had a slightly sweet, pancake-like flavor that was off-putting and disappointing since they were the main part of the dish. The latte was sub-par, nothing fancy. But the food was just tasteless, a little bit of salt and pepper goes a long way when you add it to food and from the first bite of my hash brown, I just knew the rest was going to be mad and it was. It was as if the cooks in back just took it the bag and put it on the griddle. The pancakes were a little bit undercooked. This was our family's first time in Forney and we were looking for a place to have brunch. Another popular restaurant in the area had an over 2 hour wait so we checked on Yelp and found this gem. We took advantage of their online waitlist and waited in our car until we were notified that our table was ready. Our server was great! She was very friendly, patient, and provided excellent recommendations. Since we weren't sure if we were going to have more than 2 mimosas she suggested we get a carafe as opposed to separate mimosas and I'm glad we did. We got to take the extra to-go and that made it that much more worth it. I love that they have so much variety on their menu. I have two picky eaters in our house so it's nice when we can go to one place and everyone can get something they like. My husband ordered the Meat Lovers omelet (with some jalapenos added for spice) and he said it was really good. Both my daughters had the hamburger with fries and they ate every bite. I was having a hard time deciding because everything sounded so good, but on recommendation from our server I had the Chicken Fajita skillet (I also added jalapenos) and it was yummers! I also had the pleasure of talking to Nina who is a very sweet lady and obviously takes a great deal of pride in her restaurant. I went on a solo date today and yea I had the same items as before and yessssssss it was just as good as the first time. The host is so nice and my waitress, I believe her name was Star, made for another Perfect visit! You can't go wrong with the Stuffed Strawberry French Toast - it comes with two pieces of french toast, stuffed with cream cheese filling and topped with strawberries.
