The shaved ribeye crostini's were amazing. The steak was tender and topped with Caramelized Onions, Gorgonzola Cheese, Balsamic Glaze on soft white bread. The combination made my mouth feel happy. We tried Giovanni for the first time and it was fabulous! We went for lunch and it was delicious! We got the bruschetta with feta special and that was bomb! For our lunch entrees , we ordered the Linguine con vongole and the fettuccine Al pesto. So amazing! Huge portions and they brought us out some homemade focaccia with an olive oil and balsamic dip. We had Sunday Brunch here today in Rockwall and we were all completely blown away by the amazing service, ambiance and exceptional food we had. We started with the shaved ribeye crostini and calamari. Both were excellent! We all chose different things from the menu and we all loved our food , but best was dessert! I had crème brûlée- delicious my husband had cannolis , they gave him 2 - also perfect ending to an exceptional meal. The hubs and I decided to try Giovanni for our anniversary. The restaurant wasn't too busy or loud. We were seated quickly. However, we weren't approached for around 15 minutes. We went and asked someone if we were in the wrong place. Turns out they had a new hostess that didn't tell anyone we were sat. Brian was our waiter and definitely turned the night around. He was so personable and attentive. The menu was a little misleading. I ordered the piccata but had to ask if it came with chicken. It did, so that was good. Some items said what they came with and some didn't. Apparently, they have off the menu items as well since they already have the stuff. So, just ask! The food was good. Power hungry hostess manager makes this place no good. The food is usually nice but getting through the front is like going through airport security. We had a reservation and they tried to squeeze us in the smallest 2 top right next to another table that was just seated. There were many open tables around. We asked if we could sit somewhere else and were shunned to outside on the hot patio on a 96 degree day. Then instead of being left in peace, the hostess manager goes around loudly moving all of the outside furniture around us. Just hovering and making us more uncomfortable. We had to leave because the tone set was not a good one. Have had good experiences here in the past, but getting past the hostess stand is a nightmare with or without a reservation. read more
