I was introduced to the original Campisi's on Mockingbird over 50 years ago by my father. All other pizza pales in comparison to what Campisi's delivers. My favorite? Large pizza with garlic and double mushroom. I also love their small side salads. You pay extra for Campisi's - but it will ruin you for other pizza. The only problem with this location is the parking situation. There's a movie theater practically next door and finding a space is kinda like The Hunger Games. People are always coming and going, so you have to circle around a few times before you can find a spot. During my most recent visit, I called in my order to pick up and when I got there, the gal at the register was struggling with my credit card. They sadly do not have Apple Pay. I hope this changes. I prefer contactless payments for fraud prevention. I have worked retail and I tried to show her how to properly swipe the card. She kept asking for another card, which I did not have. She turned to a colleague who swiped it correctly on the first attempt and she apologized for the trouble and gave me a free drink. When the weather is nice, they have outdoor seating with a covering canopy. Since moving out of Dallas, this is one of the closest Campisi's locations to where I live now, and having been to 5 of their locations, they are consistent with pizza quality throughout the chain. There was a dark period about 16-18 years ago when someone went full moron and decided to save money by switching to American Cheese. I am not kidding you. The pizza went from epic to inedible. I boycotted them for years until I was told by someone in the know that they had switched back to the original recipe. If you ate at a Campisi's during "the dark ages" when they made this switch, give them another chance. Because they're back to the original quality. I've had a lot of pizza in my life - but no one holds a candle to Campisi's. The crust. The sauce. The crispy crust. So many taste highlights and great texture. No other pizza comes close to them. None. Never soggy - AND by far, the best cold pizza I've ever had in my life. I always order more than I can eat. The rest goes in the fridge and I honestly don't even need to heat it up. It's great straight out of the fridge. They cut the pizza into long rectangles and this makes it much more manageable to eat - but they will cut it any way you prefer if you tell them when you order. Life on planet earth can be rough sometimes - but there's always Campisi's to brighten up the day. read more

3.5 to 4 stars Tasty pizza, almost looks like a flatbread shape. But don't tell the hubby that haha! He loves this pizza. I like it because both ingredients and quality of toppings are good. You wanna dine in? This location is not for that as others have pointed out. You have to kinda fight for inside seating because there are maybe like 5 small tables, so this is def a take out kind of place. No real waiter/waitress here. They just bring you your food and bye. Would be another star if they had more tables and actual servers. Some outside seating but when we went it was too hot for that. Now for me the star of the show was the Olive salad because I love love olives but being that no one else likes them I don't get to eat them as much. The Olive salad was olive joy!! Ask for the dressing on the side if you don't like soggy salad. So if you want a pretty good pizza with quality ingredients get yourself here. I like that it's never greasy. read more

First time visit for lunch. It was very good, hot and delicious. The lunch specials were great prices and servings were more than one person can eat. Spaghetti and meatballs and pizza. The Pizza is supposed to be thin crust. Salad was fresh and plenty of house dressing. The Italian bread was awesome and a real laid back atmosphere. I loved all the old family photos and "Frank Sinatra" type music playing. The wait staff was attentive and nice. Give it a try on a slower day. A bit over priced, spaghetti is a standard price until you add a meat which for a single large meatball is 5$ the chicken option was dry. The Alfredo sauce tasted off (also an extra charge). My, my, my. Went here with some friends for lunch. One word: DELICIOUS. We all ordered off the lunch menu and had a variety of pizzas, pastas and a couple appetizers. All of it was so very good. The pizzas were delicious! Tons of toppings on perfectly cooked crust. The meatball appetizer was devoured in seconds by our table. And the salads were so fresh and tasty. In town to go to the state fair and staying at a hotel nearby. Decided to give this place a try. Ordered three small pizzas. They were super thin and crispy, the taste was good but I prefer a thicker crust. My son's pizza had a hair inside the melted cheese. I went to show one of the workers the hair and her response was 'I don't know how that got there'. She was insulating that I planted the hair when it was literally inside the melted cheese and was a blonde/white hair when all 3 of us have brown and black hair. I was disgusted so I walked away back to our table ready to leave. When we were about to leave she walked to me and asked what my order number was. I told her I didn't know and she said she was going to refund my order. There was literally 4-5 people after me and the guy who took our order was still there. A couple of us are in town for business and decided we would try some Italian. If it is true Italian you are looking for, do yourself a favor and walk a few doors down. This is a fast food style of restaurant, myself would rank it below Chef Boyardee in terms of flavor. Portion was plentiful, but for $30 for 2 meals I would have expected better. We should have went with the pizza as it appears to be what people rave about in the reviews. I could not allow 24 hours to pass without giving this place a deserving rating. I had lunch here yesterday. We were the first to enter around 11:00 am with a "Welcome to Campisis. Is this your first time dining with us?" I replied, "Yes." Then the gentlemen explained we can sit wherever we desired and order at the register. We were handed a menu, and we began to analyze the choices. We landed on two house salads and a large All the Way pizza (pictures included). Oh my goodness! I have never tasted flavors and freshness like that ever in a pizza. I may never eat another franchise pizza again. The pizza has only a thin crust but it was the BEST. The owner/manager came out several times to check on us and was just as friendly as the gentlemen who greeted us initially. I recommend this place to anyone who likes pizza. I look forward to my next visit which will be soon. I'm hoping I can push myself to try their pasta. It will be a push because I want to try some of the other pizzas. LOL! Try it. My son and i went in there tiday hoping for a nice lunch after a dr appointment. My salad ,if you call it a salad. A head of lettuce with crushed olives on top, was so oily it could have slid down by itself. My son had the fettuccine it was totally tasteless and the bread he was given was also horrible. The pizzas seem small but we aware! They are very filling! The only downpart was the chicken Fettuccine alfredo. It was flavorless - no salt. Do not order it. This location was incredibly disappointing compared to the original on Greenville Ave. We ordered through DoorDash and the food took almost two hours to arrive. When it did, it was obviously cold and dried out. We ordered our pizza with extra sauce but it arrived with hardly any at all (probably bc it was cold and stale). The salad was so overdressed it was mush. We requested a refund and threw it in the trash. Maybe it's better for dining in but we won't order again from this location. read more

The location is the best thing about this pizza place. It's a walk-up and order kind of deal. Seat yourself. And get your own drinks. The covered patio would be nice if it wasn't 100 degrees in TX. So we sat at the bar. The family pictures on the walls were a great conversation starter. The pizza is homemade style which was good, but it was bland and dry. Mostly crust. I generally order Campisis via UberEats from the Richardson location. Tonight my family had dinner at Gloria's but I was excited because Campisis was on the same block. Upon placing my order, I specifically asked the cashier if it was better to place my order as a build your own or to order a speciality pizza and sub in the toppings I wanted. She proceeded typing into the register. No response. I had shown her my standard order on my phone and asked again. No response. Kept typing. I asked again. She replied asking if I was there to pickup an order. I said no and indicated I had only shown my phone so she could review my standard UberEats order. Again I rephrased my question. No response. She starts typing on the register and I tell her I am looking for assistance in the best way to place the order. She then says - I'm just trying to confirm. Confirm what? I tell her I have asked the same question 4 times. Yet there is still no response. The gentleman standing next to her steps in. I pose the exact same question. He kindly informs me he will ring it up both ways to best advise. I place my order and wait until it is completed. While waiting outside, the manager (same gentleman) comes out and informs me that he comped my pizza as he was told I was rude to his staff. I explained I had asked a question but was never rude, never elevated my voice, used profanity or disrespected anyone. Furthermore I had simply asked him the same question I did to the other staff and he was able to easily assist. He said his 17 year old employee was crying and he had heard conflicting stories. Mind you he had been standing next to her from the start. I strongly advise managers to train their staff how to employ strong customer service skills and learn to address the questions asked to them. I do not feel I should have to ask the same question repeatedly only to be reprimanded for asking until given a response. Keep your pizza and keep your ill advised poorly trained non-communicative staff. I sincerely appreciate the locations that have provided excellent customer service and I will continue to support these locations. I've seen numerous reviews about this location lacking customer service skills. These youth lack skills and training and if they shed a few tears clearly it allows them to demonstrate incompetence . This place is way, way, way overpriced. The food is horrible!!!! We were served brunt, greasy "garlic toast" on what looked like regular cheap sandwich bread. Their "pizza" is a total joke. Toppings are minced pieces of vegetable matter and thrown unevenly on a thin "cardboard" pizza crust, and not served on a round traditional pizza pan, they are oblong/oval shaped. That is hardly a true 16 inch pizza. The "salad" is a bowl full of wilted iceberg lettuce overly dressed with an italian dressing with 1 olive with the pit, and 1 spicy banana pepper. No other salad vegetables. That is not a true salad. There is no effort in their food. The place has hardly indoor seating. What does this place do when it is raining or is 1000° degrees outside? The most overall bad this is we paid so much for their crappy food. Ugh! No servers. We had to stand around and order at the register and then find our own table, get our own drinks, etc. my sons ordered pasta, which takes a few minutes to boil. Our food was obviously microwaved, came out way too fast to have been cooked fresh. This is the worst Italian restaurant I have ever been too. Italian staples from a name we trust, right next to the movie theater for convenient harbor dining! Park in the harbor lot, or use the valet stand. Order at the counter, fix your own soft drink, then sit inside or out to wait for your food. There are several good appetizers, and the large dinner salad is a HUGE hit, but the pizza is the star of this eatery. The crust is medium-thick; not thin, and yet not deep-dish - and the Meat Lover is excellent!! If you ate a bunch of movie popcorn, stick to the small! This Italian standard is as old-school as the aging B&W photos on the wall; nothing surprising, just basic Italian served in filling portion sizes. Buon appetito! read more

First menu is limited, pasta and pizza thats it. I took a chance knowing what i an order, ordered two pastas both alfredo with chicken and a pizza. Pizza was good pasta was horrible sauce had no flavor what so ever and pasta was cold. They literally heated the pasta gave it a scoop of sauce on top. What a cute little place to stop in and get a slice or two of pizza. The food taste great like all of the other locations but the menu is a LOT smaller then the other locations. We were recommended this place from the Tru hotel up the street. When we arrived it was busy which we thought was a good sign. Family of 4 of us ordered 4 pizzas. 2 small and 2 medium. 1 x all meat, 1 x all the way, 1 x pepperoni and ham, 1 x veggie and 3 soda drinks. The Total price was - $82! Outrageous but we thought wow it must be amazing pizza for that price. They are also counter only service. I would expect this from the chain types like dominos or pizza hut but not for $80+ pizza. Would I recommend?.....NOPE! The second star is just because the staff were pleasant. This is one of the worst pizza's I've ever had. I would take any of the poor boy chain pizzas any day over this place. The crust had no flavor and is denser than i would have thought for a flatbread. The sauce was bland, cheese was poor quality as was the meat. Sorry for the bad review, it is really hard to find good pizza in Texas and this is just another place to add to my "do not return". Great spot for an effortless date night. We snagged a chopped salad and a large veggie pizza and added pepperonis and Italian sausage. We ordered a bottle of wine and enjoyed sitting on the patio! The pizza is a very thin and crispy crust all the way through. I loved how crisp and fresh the salad was. (Not the most nutritional selection of leafy greens but the perfect salad to be paired with a crunchy pizza!) Will certainly be ordering to-go soon! This is a fast casual style dining so you order at the counter but there is no wait staff which again is great for an effortless date night. Been looking for a new 'go to' pizza delivery place. Online ordering was easy and I liked the custom building of our pizza. Delivery took an hour, it was on a Friday...pizza arrived warm. Thin crust, using way to much flour which coated the bottom of the crust and was in the box. I paid for double pepperoni, I would hate to see the regular amount. No real sauce, or cheese. Very convenient location. We see a lot of movies and are out here a lot for that but was first time trying Campisi's. Started with the meatball appetizer and those balls of meat are very good!!! Then we split an all meat pizza minus sausage. The pizza is light tasting and the meats are super good. We went today a Saturday, around 130pm and walked right in no line ordered and sat. I was surprised at how small it is inside. I can see it getting very busy. Someone passing by the table made sure everything was good, which I always appreciate a manager or owner having enough pride to ask that. We'll be back. Maybe it was being born in Dallas, but outside of a trip to Vegas or the East Coast, Campisi's represents the standard by which I judge Italian food and pizza. And if possible, when in the Dallas area, I stop at a Campisi's. Luckily, for a Sunday Funday date lunch, my dining companion and I decided on this Campisi's. This location in Rockwall is a bit different as they have a more limited menu than the other locations and it's counter service. The good news is that counter service means there's self-service drinks. The bad news is that the limited menu means that many of the Campisi's classics aren't available. (I'm looking at the Randy White ravioli in the particular.) The food and service are what makes a restaurant and this location compares favorably with other Campisi's locations. The garlic bread was on point as always. The pepperoni pizza was excellent, if maybe a bit heavy on the cheese. The service was friendly and the food came quickly. If I had any one suggestion, it's that it would've been nice to have received a new plate for the pizza. And with the self-serve theme, I appreciated a variety of to-go cartons and packaging being available. All in all, still very good. read more
