    The medium taco pizza
    Bill F.

Best pizza I've had really !! John knows how to make a thin crust, bakes your pizza to absolute perfection !! Nice crispy crust and great array of toppings. Had a medium taco pizza on Taco Tuesday and yes, as Arnold would say, "I'll be back "

    Crust is very different

The actual restaurant is tiny and has a NY vibe as a result. It's also like stepping back in time. The pizza is surprisingly sturdy for a pan cooked pizza and the slices hold together well during handling. My pizza had ZERO flop. I can see why the crust is a divisive topic. Upon first bite I was turned off a little. I tend to like the crust you get from a brick oven with the "thick" toasted portion on the bottom. However, towards the end of the first slice the crust started to appeal to me. It is somewhere between a piece of toast, a pie crust and a grands flaky biscuit. Due to the unique crust, the eating experience itself is quite enjoyable. If you are someone who thinks Papa John's is good pizza, move on because you won't understand this next part. The ratio of crust cheese and sauce is spot on. Each slice had zero flop, zero cheese slide and when you bite through it, you take a complete bite without pulling any cheese off the rest of the slice. Also, when you fold a slice and take a bite, it doesn't press the toppings out;it is almost like eating a sandwich. I wasn't blown away by the flavor so that is why I'm giving it three stars. Overall though, it's a unique pizza and well above most east side of the metroplex pizzas. I completely understand how the crust may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it does have it's benefits.

    Veggie pizza. Small for $7

Good thin crust, fresh ingredients, great price, and friendly service. Can't ask for more. I got a veggie pizza which came with bell peppers, mushroom, olive, tomato, and onions. The crust was thin and crispy, almost pie-like. The pizza was easy on cheese and sauce and loaded with veggies. It was almost too healthy for a pizza. And I loved it more for that. I placed an order by the phone for a pickup. He said 30 mins, which was a long wait for my starved self, but it only means the pizza was made from scratch and that I should order little ahead next time.

This place has by far the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. I am not freaking joking I don't know what it is with the crust on this pizza sauce on this pizza everything about it is just the best. I honestly don't know why they're not franchised. I think it's a grand is the only thing I'm going to miss about Forney when I move.

Very friendly staff! We arrived a little early before our food was ready and the gentleman talked to us and got to know us a little. I got the spinach mushroom pizza with alfredo sauce and cheese bread. They were both really good! The cheese bread was so soft and had a yummy garlic taste!

Pizza was fresh and good. We will definitely be back. We had a large pepperoni pizza. The crust was not greasy and baked well.

3 and a half to 4 stars. One of our go-to pizza places! This…read morepizza is for the thin, almost snappy crust lovers. When done right, it's very crispy (almost Al dente). When left in the oven too long; it can be over cooked and what I call "more crack than crisp". We have been here many times and it's only been overcooked maybe 2-3 times so they are more consistent than not. Surprise: They have added wings to the menu since the last time we were here. So of course we ordered the lemon pepper (full disclosure it's not my favorite flavor anywhere, but the fam out-voted me). I did try them and they were nice and crispy (we order them that way) with a hefty TANG. So if you are fond of the lemon in the lemon pepper this is your go to. For apps we ordered the meatballs and they were tasty; they came in a little deep dish with marina and cheese- and not dry. The croquettes never disappoint. The salad is a standard salad. Im picky with my salad and tend to notice if the lettuce is oxidized. This location almost always has a few oxidized pieces in the mix. I don't know why. It's not that hard to chop up some fresh romaine. I usually love their ranch dressing but today it was a flavorless liquid. Sad face. Our go to pizzas - margherita and the pepperoni. Look at those pizza pies - delish !

I think the only frustration today was the fact that they had their happy hour prices posted outside despite they're not actually being a happy hour today. It can certainly seem extremely misleading. Other than that, it seemed as though there were a lot of people training and it was slow to get things like water, but those are just small hurdles when places are facing challenges like that. It is a cool vibe with delicious food, and overall not too shabby The main reason for the low stars is because of the happy hour sign out front. It definitely let our group into believing the appetizers were on happy hour today... Turns out they weren't and the days of the week that happy hour exist was written in extremely small writing at the bottom of the board. Could do better with that...

Tonight, I was trying to order a deal online, but there was no way to modify the order. I called the store multiple times, and no one answered the phone. I drove to the store, and while the open sign was turned off, there were people inside. So I went inside to ask if I could order, and just specify no onions on one of the pizzas. There was a girl there behind the counter, eating and wearing headphones and sitting on a barstool, ignoring everyone around her, probably including the ringing phone. So a guy came out of the kitchen to take my order. He acted for all the world like he was so irritated that I showed up to order food. They're still open for another hour. Then, even though there's absolutely no one here, except for some people that are already eating, he told me it would be 45 minutes for the pizzas. So I guess I'll sit in my car and watch them ignore other people like the woman who walked in next. Pathetic customer service. Absolutely terrible. (just a fun fact) They seem pretty proud of that fact too, considering there's now a giant cowboy hat sculpture, "The Big Hat," right across the street. It's impossible to miss. Anyway, we weren't there for hats. We were there for pizza. First, a public service announcement. Figure out what you want before you walk in because the menu is only available through a QR code, and it is awful. You scroll. Then you scroll some more. Then somehow you're still scrolling. It feels less like ordering dinner and more like reading the terms and conditions for a mortgage. The two of us ordered a large pepperoni pizza, which turned out to be ambitious. We ate leftovers for days. Next time I'd definitely order the smaller size. My only real complaint about the pizza itself was the pepperoni. There was just TOO MUCH of it. Sure, I could have asked for "light pepperoni", but then I'd be paying full price for less topping, and that just goes against my personal philosophy. I'd love to see a "light pepperoni" option priced accordingly. ALSO not it is the good and greasy cupping pepperoni, kinda spicy. The pizza was also a little unevenly prepared. About half had a thicker crust while the other half was noticeably thinner. I definitely preferred the thinner side. Service was perfectly fine, the bathrooms were clean and nice, and the pizza was good overall. Just be prepared for the QR code marathon before you get to enjoy it.
