We went to eat on Father's Day weekend and the restaurant wasn't too packed. Ambiance is nice however, service was ok. I asked for a booth and was told they were held for reservations when we had set a reservation. We had 2 kids so a booth was preferred but instead we got a table. Our server was nice however, we noticed all tables received complimentary bread and we didn't. When I asked for some, I was told they would bring it and never did. When we got our food (salmon) and the (chicken fett. Pasta) , the food was under seasoned and you needed salt. The mashed potatoes were sub par. Drinks were ok, nothing special. Would I be back- no. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We've been a few times and each time the food is so fresh and tastes absolutely amazing. Our waitress has been Isabel, she delivers 5 service at all times and has a great personality to match. The rest of the staff is very friendly and we love the patio during good weather. This is one of our favorite spots! read more

If you're not eating at Giovanni's, are you even living or just chewing through life like a flavorless breadstick? This place is my go-to sanctuary for when I need to be reminded that food can still be sexy. Normally I get the Veal Ossobucco with Wild Mushroom Risotto and a Barolo Glaze so rich it probably has a hedge fund. But it's Texas in the summer, which means stepping outside feels like being slapped in the face with a wet oven mitt. So I switched it up. Enter: Pollo Al'Antonio. Spicy, creamy, and unreasonably addictive. Capellini tangled with cherry peppers, wild mushrooms, and onions like it's hosting a party in my mouth where everyone brought good wine and left their drama at the door. The tomato cream sauce? It doesn't ask for permission. It just shows up, takes over your taste buds, and says, "You're welcome." Windy went for the Spicy Pork Sausage Rigatoni -- and I watched her eyes glaze over like she just remembered every good decision she's ever made. That rigatoni had a personality. Bold, meaty, unapologetic. If it were a guy, it'd ghost you after three dates but you'd still talk about him like he changed your life. Appetizers? Don't play games. The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio? Thin, elegant, and dressed better than most of the customers. The Spinach & Artichoke Dip came in with crostinis and a look that said, "You're gonna need a minute." And that random creamy spinach, mozzarella, brandy-sauce thing? It wasn't on the menu, it was on a mission. Drinks? Top tier. Cocktails are strong enough to make you text your ex but balanced enough to stop you before you hit send. Wine list has range -- not bougie, not basic -- just smart. Price? Totally fair. Not cheap, but also not the kind of place that charges $28 for air fried cauliflower and calls it "seasonal foraged bliss." You get what you pay for -- and here, you get actual joy. Bottom line: Giovanni's delivers. Whether you're celebrating something big or just trying to survive another week of corporate nonsense, this place gets it. Come for the food. Stay because your soul demands it. read more

Came here on a Thursday and the experience was so-so. I felt bad for our waiter because they were way understaffed but he did his best to accommodate our large party and had other servers helping out when they could. Shaved ribeye crostinis had tasty caramelized onions. The calamari shrimp fritto misto was delicious! Probably my favorite thing we had. The Surf and turf just wasn't for me. The steak was overcooked. I wasn't a fan of the stuffed shrimp. Mashed potatoes had no flavor. Also, the dinner only had two sticks of asparagus. Might come back a different day and try something different. read more

The service on a slower evening was a perfect pace for our date night and we enjoyed the ambiance. The food we order was great-- calamari, blue crab, the stuffed ravioli, and the chocolate cake filled us up.. I enjoyed the fig martini which is on the sweeter end and exactly what I like! We came back with a larger party on a busier night and noticed the service wasn't as organized, the bathroom had no paper towels, and the scallops we ordered that evening had no flavor at all. We would come back for just the happy hour since it seems like the food/service could be a hit or miss. Overall, we did have a great time and this restaurant is one of the better Italian spots in Rockwall. read more

Some of the best Italian food my wife and I have ever had. Top level service. Great atmosphere. 10/10 experience.

Well I must say from the owner to the staff they are very proud of their service ! The food is just amazing and fresh and cooked to perfection! This is our go to restaurant in Rockwall! Never had a bad meal as food is fresh! One of our favorites is Turf and Surf! The other is the fresh salmon. Staff is constantly consistent on you having a good meal. It is such an important restaurant to us for family celebrations and visitors visiting us in Rockwall. This IS the restaurant to go to in Rockwall! Drinks are always served as you order them! The sea bass was to die for, whereas my pasta needed work. The noodles were undercooked but the seafood was good. The stuffed avocado was a pleasant surprise and had good flavor and colorful. The service was pretty good. They have indoor/outdoor seating. This restaurant seemed to be enjoyed by many. The ambiance was chill. Some were dressed down and some dressed up like us as we were celebrating an anniversary. They brought champagne out and dessert. The staff was helpful with all my prior request to make the evening special. This was an evening to remember!!!! read more

First time - everything was excellent. Service, attentiveness, food, atmosphere. It all went very well. Our wait's name was George and he was helpful in making menu selections. The food was well-prepared, hot, and very good. When back in the area, going here is on my list, for sure. read more

My second time here . Service was so so but the drinks and food were delicious! This was my first time here for brunch! They had a lot of breakfast options not too many lunch options. I opted for the Cobb salad that was delicious! The calamari was some of the best I've ever had. The batter had a nice spice and the Parmesan cheese on top really added a nice touch! The spinach artichoke dip was also delicious , just wish the bread a little crispier! read more

Great food and excellent appetizers. My wife had her first escargot here and loved it. Definitely recommend

Came across this restaurant while visiting The Harbor in Rockwall, Texas. Our server was amazing, very friendly and knowledgeable about the entire menu. The ambiance was good. The presentation of the fried zucchini was very well done, and it was accompanied by a piquant jalapeño ranch and mozzarella sauce. The cheese on top of the fried zucchini was a nice touch, but it made the dish salty. The spinach, peas, and mascarpone tortellini was flavor-packed. As per la scarpetta, the sauce that remained was overpowered by the cheese it came with. The pollo al' antonio was my least favorite dish of the night. The chicken piccata was great, as the chicken was well done and the sauce close to the perfect amount of lemon and capers in it. The tiramisu was my favorite thing, as it had a great consistency, and the raspberry and ferrero rocher added to the flavor. read more

Power hungry hostess manager makes this place no good. The food is usually nice but getting through the front is like going through airport security. We had a reservation and they tried to squeeze us in the smallest 2 top right next to another table that was just seated. There were many open tables around. We asked if we could sit somewhere else and were shunned to outside on the hot patio on a 96 degree day. Then instead of being left in peace, the hostess manager goes around loudly moving all of the outside furniture around us. Just hovering and making us more uncomfortable. We had to leave because the tone set was not a good one. Have had good experiences here in the past, but getting past the hostess stand is a nightmare with or without a reservation. read more

Great place for Friday night dinner. Ame with a group of 7. Very attentive servers. Spacious dining room and outdoor lounge available. The atmosphere is vibrant, but loud so we had to speak with elevated voices to hear each other (this didn't ruin our experience). Parking sucks, but they kindly validate valet, so use that if you want. The food was fresh and tasty. House bread was warm with an oil/balsamic/mustard dip. The carpaccio was a bit over-sauced and quite acidic and the meat was lost in the dressing and salad. It was nice to come with a large group and taste several items on the menu. Will be coming back to taste more things, possibly for lunch in hopes that it won't be so loud. One thing that could've improved is that our water wasn't refilled once. But, the fact that the check was accurately split between the 7 of us made up for any inconvenience. read more

This place is very nice and has great food, with tons of options, from seafood, steak, to pastas etc... Delicious desserts, cocktails and an excellent wine list, as well. I have dined at Giovanni a few times now and look forward to each visit. The restaurant offers great service and authentic Italian flavors. Visiting my mom who just moved to Rockwall from Phoenix. The ambiance is nice; felt like a fairly typical Italian restaurant. Big bar and many tables. I don't think they had anything viewing the water which is a bummer. We shared the mixed green salad. This thing is freaking delicious. Nothing crazy; just a well done salad. Perfectly dressed with fresh and yummy goat cheese and nuts (pecans?). I had the meatball sandwich. It was a little unexpected because it came out on like a torta bun. I was expecting more of a hoagie roll. Sauce was great. Meatballs were soft moist and delicious. It came with French fries. Thin fries with Parmesan (or Romano; not sure) and arugula on top. They were fine. I probably would prefer pasta salad or something next time if they have it (I didn't check the choices). The areas around the restaurant is fantastic. It's a water front restaurant and shopping center with a lot of grass for the dog, boat docks, entertainment, and so on. Service was perfect. They were fast and attentive without bugging us. They accommodated my moms somewhat quirky wants as far as seating. And they were very polite, using their sirs and ma'am's like good Texans :) we appreciate it (from Arizona). Next time in town I'll definitely come again. read more

The Pier is a great place to spend time at. There are about 10 restaurants here and 6 of them are pretty good. We tried the Italian restaurant Giovanni because it had the shortest wait time. They wanted us to eat outside but it was too cold and we needed in door seats. This place can get loud. It was hard to hear us talk. Date ordered lobster bisque and table got bread. Lobster bisque was good but not worth the price in my opinion. I think it should have had more lobster. We both ordered the Mahi Mahi Special. it was mahi mahi over Roseto with mango salsa and scallops. Very good dish and I wish I had of gotten more. I ordered the spicy margarita. It is unusually spicy and I liked it. I will return. read more

Food was exceptional. I had the chicken parm, my wife had the tomato soup and Cesar salad. We also ordered the artichoke dip. We absolutely loved the food. The setting is super nice and relaxing. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Our server, Rueben (?) was more interested in hitting on the girl at the bar than checking on customers. We had to ask the busser twice to refill drinks, which he was happy to do. I think we just got unlucky. We watched another server, bald guy, literally running to ensure his very busy section was taken care of. A woman, I assume is the manager, wearing a striped shirt was also very busy helping the bald server. We will go back but will make sure not to be served by Ruben. read more

I took my parents here! They are big fans of good pasta. This place was on the waterfront so it was nice to walk around before our reservation. We ordered a bunch of pasta dishes to share. Everything about this experience was surprising and fun. Our waitstaff, Journee, was professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The spinach and artichoke dip is very flavorful. The Lobster Ravioli Pescatore is the perfect sized serving. The scallops are cooked to perfection. We ate here on a Thursday expecting zero issues with parking, especially since they are located in a hotel/shopping district and were shocked that there were zero spaces available. We walked in on a Friday at 6pm fully expecting there to be a long wait, especially since we wanted to sit outside- but alas, we were sat right away! The outside views aren't as great as other places in the Harbor since you can't see the water, but the foliage plus being completely shaded makes up for that I think. Service was super fast- I wasn't even half way done with my beer when our food arrived. I got the fettuccine primavera which was amazing and I will absolutely order again. This is my new favorite Brunch place to go, everything about this place amazing. The service was more then on point, we would order something and it would be right out to us. The waiter we had was really respectful to us and made sure we had everything we needed but didn't make us feel like we were being over crowded or pushed/rushed out of the restaurant. I LOVE the overall vibe of the place, it's super calming and a relaxed setting to be in. It definitely made the experience really tranquilizing and almost made it hard for us to leave lol. Amazing service, fantastic flavors, good atmosphere down on the Harbor. They cook the seafood and fish ...fire! Red hot...love this! Drinks spot and desert...camping on good ol D-lish! "In all seriousness," they have plenty of choices on their wine list, their portions are really thought out, the choices selected on our first visit were cooked spot on and the hors d'oeuvres were just right and well seasoned! Usually I'll rate after multiple visits, but this one, I'll throw in my free advice. "And it's worth every penny!" read more
