What a fantastic surprise?!?! Who would have thought this was Fate and not downtown Dallas. Loved every part of this. Ambiance is fantastic.What a great feel inside and out. Open ceilings inside. Loud but not too loud. Just felt alive. Outside had a singer, another bar and even sisters! The drink menu is one of my favorites. Its not every drink you see on every other restaurants menu. And prices quite reasonable for them. We had old fashioned and paper plane. Great pours. Great timing. Great taste. Our server was friendly with some dad jokes to keep it light. Attentive. Loved him. Food. We ordered too much food and now I cant breathe because I ate so much. Apps we tried the crab and shrimp dip and meatballs. Meatballs were flavorful and juicy. I like their red sauce as it has good seasoning, not bland. And the crab dip had more crab than I have had anywhere. I love beets so I got the beet salad... exactly what you expect and I adored it. Not hubby but he doesn't like beets lol For dinner. Chicken parm. Portion was huge and Loved that it came with Alfredo. Good balance. For me carbonara with shrimp. I love carbonara. I do not even a tiny bit think it's a carbonara but it was so tasty. I would order it again juat call it something else. I repeat.... cant breathe because I am so full. We brought home dessert because the table next to us told us we had to so why not. (They also Loved their meal... chicken parm and prime rib. You know its a good place when strangers are talking to each other about their meals.) I have no idea how this place is in Fate but I am in love. We came here on a busy Sunday afternoon. Our large party was seated quickly. The appetizers we ordered came out hot. This is when the wheels started to wobble. The food came out in shifts, which caused some people to be finished before others got their food. Two of us had almost no sause on the Alfredo, and when we asked for some more, it took about 15 minutes, and to add insult to injury...we were charged $3 for each small bowl. I don't know who management is but y'all need to check on customers periodically to ask how things are going and make it right if something goes wrong. Beautiful place! We were told everything was made in house and from scratch. I had mama's gravy pasta and I could tell pasta was from scratch. I made it a few times myself and it definitely has a chew to it. The sauce was good and the meat was delicious! They had pieces of braised short ribs which are my favorite!! I really wanted to like it. I really did. The staff were great; they were friendly, energetic, and apologized when it took a while to get our food because it was just the second night the large patio was open and the kitchen was struggling to meet the added demand. Much of the food was really good, like the carbonara with chicken and the lasagna, but the Caesar salad was just okay with what tasted like bottled dressing from the food supplier, and the pizza was neapolitan style in most ways but with a thicker and chewier NY-style crust. It was good but a bit odd, especially with the more delicate toppings like slices of tomato and spinach. The bruschetta appetizer was fine and tasted okay but it wasn't anything that exciting, and it was a bit on the small side. The price, though... I know places are way more expensive these days than most of us are okay with. It takes time to wrap your head around the rampant inflation that took place during the last six years, and I'm still getting used to the new normal. So I expect prices to be above what I still think stuff should cost, but I also expect to get value for the higher price, and some dishes achieved that, but others like the pizza and the bruschetta did not. $10 for five small pieces of toasted French baguette with some grated parm and some soy Italian cheese and a bowl full of marinated halved multicolored grape tomatoes just puts a bad taste in your mouth. The value just wasn't there. The atmosphere on the patio is really nice, especially on the nice evening we were there. The weather was perfect and the vibe was chill, although it was fairly hard to hear, even being outside. So, yes, the food is good, but it's not great. The experience was good, but it wasn't great, and I don't know that we will return. read more

Great new spot in Fate. The decor is hip and lively and the food is fresh and very good. We ate at the bar and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was impressed with the wine list. The prices are very reasonable. This contrasted massively with the bottle I had at Nick & Sam's the night before. I selected My Favorite Neighbor (a great little California Central Coast find). It is clear that they put a lot of money into this spot and I hope that it makes it. This is a great addition to the local food scene. read more

We enjoyed our food well. The husband got the Ribeye which came with fingerling potatoes. As that was not stated on the menu, we ordered fingerling potatoes to share, which essentially were a waste of cost. The ambience was nice, however I feel the closeness of tables was a bit much. read more

Great vibes, great for large crowds. Came with a crowd of about 16 and were seated fairly quickly (had reservations). The food did take a long while to show up, but we had a very large crowd. The servers were attentive and kept us hydrated as we waited for food. The wait did not disappoint. I had the seasons beet salad which was balanced and delicious without being overly acidic. Their classic wood fire cheese pizza was fresh and paired well with the salad. We also ordered the mussel appetizer (drowned in a delicious sauce) and the mussel pasta (a generous portion but a smidge underseasoned for my taste). I saw the chicken Parmesan someone ordered and it was as big as my head. Will surely be back to try more pizzas and other items. A beautiful restaurant with great food and terrific service (thanks to Kammy). Higher priced than a lot of other Italian restaurants but for a good reason...they use better ingredients. As an older guest it no longer offends me to be seated in an empty section where no one can see us (and vice versa). Certainly not the first time, will not be the last. But I have a dream that one day I will be invited to join the rest of the guests and we can all eat as one. read more

A 7 pm reservation, we were celebrating the birthday of my boy, we didnt feel like driving to Dallas and stayed close to home, excited that there was a nice dining establishment that wasnt part of a processed food chain. If you have IBS, this is the perfect place for you, as your gut wont be irritated. -Spaghetti & meatballs looked like what I imagine Chef Boy-ar-dee would look/taste like. The meatballs were void of any flavor at all and the sauce was lite. At best these were the same quality as Sam's club cocktail meatballs. Returned. -Chicken Alfredo -ordered Chicken Alfredo but what we got was chicken parmigiana. The server was apologetic and acknowledged that it was she who made the mistake. Kudos to her for owning the mistake openly. When the correct item arrived, the chicken was undercooked, pasta gummy, and the sauce was beige in color with no flavor, not even salt. Returned. -Red fish 2 in my party ordered this and we both agreed that it could've been seasoned more. Fresh fish doesn't usually require more than salt & pepper and a grilled lemon. When I got to the center of the filet, I saw the bloodline, even in the dimly lit dining room. At this price point, chef needs to learn how to remove the bloodline during his prep!!! Total turn off!! The fish was topped with crawfish in a light cream sauce that was a nice touch. The top quality risotto was superb and the grilled cherry tomatoes were really good but hard to detach from the vine. The broccolini was too undercooked, nearly raw and hard to cut w/a knife. This could be a perfect dish w/ a revamp and a tad bit more seasoning. Appetizers cheese toast and a charcuterie board. Well all i can say is this must've been good because after I returned from a quick phone call the platters were cleared. I missed out. Caesar Salad drowning in dressing, so much so the empty plate contained enough dressing for another salad. The one with chicken was undercooked- I think because by now they have messed our entire table up and were rushing the order. We all ate at different times. Sirlion Mashed potatoes were underseasoned and bland, chimichurri sauce was really good, not overly oily. Im told the steak was good. We all ate at different times, because nearly everything had a problem and had to be sent back, ruining our experience. So much for neighborhood dining. Wont return. With all the mishaps, this meal should NOT have cost a dime but somehow we still wound up spending nearly $200. The server was nice. Front of the house mgr, was clueless on what to do to turn the situation around. Ambiance was really nice. Ambiance is amazing! Food... meh. Mama's gravy was good but pretty salty. My husband doesn't mind saltier foods and it was a bit much for him. The actual pasta did seem homemade which was nice. Risotto is a waste of money. It was just like regular rice boiled in a salty mild chicken broth. Not creamy, not flavorful. Steak was decent. Nothing to go back for though. We ventured out to downtown Fate last night and had the most amazing dinner at Sauce & Vine! It's a new upscale Italian restaurant that opened 2 weeks ago. The first thing I noticed was how large and spacious the inside of the building is. Reservations are highly recommended as we learned that they only take walk-ins at 5:00 pm when they open (fortunately we arrived when they opened!). If you don't have reservations, there's a long spacious bar with ample seating along with a nice little table for 2 tucked in the corner. The tables all have white tablecloths and either little "lamps" or tiny candles. The waiters all give a polished appearance in their white uniforms just like you'd find at any upscale restaurant. Service was amazing! Our server, Michkaylee, was very attentive and personable. This place was first rate all the way! And I haven't even gotten to the food! I was told the speciality Italian Margarita was one of their more popular drinks and it did not disappoint! The shrimp & crab imperial dip came served with a combo of toasted French bread and pita bread and was delicious! My husband ordered the lasagna and I ended up ordering the chicken Parmesan which was AMAZING! Last, we saved room for the tiramisu dessert. You would never know this restaurant has only been open for two weeks with how smoothly everything ran. We were seated towards the back of restaurant were we could see everything happening in the open space kitchen. They offer a nice selection of Neapolitan pizzas made in their fancy copper imported Italian pizza oven. Even the cutlery was fancy!! This restaurant spared no expense! First time at this new gem. Highly recommend reservations. Atmosphere is very upbeat, but loud. My wife and I split cheese bread and the Caesar salad. Both were very good and the salad was definitely big enough to share. My wife had the shrimp scampi, shrimp were huge and she enjoyed it very much. She had leftovers. I had the appetizer Spiendini, a combination of meat shush kabobs and sauces. It was very tasty and filling. Our friends had the salmon, and said it was one of the best salmon dishes she had eaten.her husband had Mama's Gravy and said the pasta was fresh and the dish very good. We were very excited to finally try Sauce and Vine, and the atmosphere alone did not disappoint. The space is beautiful, welcoming, and has a great energy. We were even seated earlier than expected, which was a great start. We started with the charcuterie board and bread, and both were excellent. The board was well put together with a great variety, and the bread was fresh and flavorful. Drinks did take awhile to arrive, but our waitress was upfront about there being a backlog at the bar, which is understandable for a newer restaurant still finding its rhythm. I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka, and it was fantastic -- rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It's definitely something I would come back for. My wife ordered the chicken alfredo, and unfortunately it wasn't her favorite. Lacked the same depth of flavor as my dish. Overall, we still had a very positive experience. The environment alone will bring us back, especially with the outdoor patio and the park next door -- perfect for families. Food has potential but did not live up to expectations. We have been waiting months for this place to open. The place is very beautiful on the inside. I made reservations and when we arrived we were seated immediately. They put us at a small table in the corner. Served was very attentive. We ordered a pizza and sirloin steak medium Well. The pizza arrived and the pepperoni and sausage looked and tasted of quality. I pulled a piece from the pie and the middle was soggy. The outside of crust was semi crispy. I rate it a B. If they had just let it cook a little longer the crust would have been much better. A few minutes after the pizza arrived our waiter came over with Parmesan. I was curious why it didn't come out with the pie. The steak arrived at the table and my wife and I split it. When she cut into it I could tell it was way over cooked. Worse part is it had no flavor. A little salt goes a long way. The mashed potatoes it came on were bland, no butter flavor or seasoning. The waiter asked us how our steak was and I told him it was way overcooked. He apologized but never offered to have it remade. My wife will be out of the country on Valentine's Day and I left a comment on our reservation regarding this was an early date. No mention from anyone. Here is another weird thing we noticed the place hold 300 + plus people but the bathrooms only allow room for 2-3 at a time. This is going to be uncomfortable for people when they are busy. We were disappointed. On our way out no one thanked for stopping in. We are foodies and dine all over. With many excellent Italian options in the Rockwall area, this place does not cut it. Staff was slow and spent way too much time talking and laughing amongst themselves. Menu was inaccurate of the food you get. For example, the Chicken Parm said it came with marinara pasta but instead came with Alfredo pasta. Only reason it is a two star instead of a one star is the fact that the building itself is pretty cool and a nice place to be, although way too brightly lit for an Italian restaurant. Add to that the fact that they only take reservations despite being at a conservative 40 percent capacity to be generous, and that's a no from me. read more

I ordered the chicken parmesan again, and it was literally a quarter of the size compared to last time -- very disappointing for the price. We also waited over an hour for our food and only got an update after we had to ask about it ourselves. To make matters worse, the wine on tap ran out of every red option, and service was very inattentive -- we had to repeatedly ask for refills on both wine and water. We are so lucky to have this little gem in Fate! We had the chicken lollipops for an appetizer - huge portion and the blood orange glaze was delicious, the mushroom gnocchi was so flavorful, and the Yankee pizza was amazing!
