I love this place! It's set in a beautifully restored old home, and the décor is absolutely adorable--everything is chicken-themed, just like the menu. The staff is always friendly and pleasant, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working here. There are plenty of seating options: a cozy bar area, three separate dining rooms, a large patio with its own bar, and even picnic tables out back. I think the upstairs may be reserved for private events. Every time I visit, I end up ordering the same thing because it's just that good--the Naked Chicken three-piece. Absolutely delicious! Brick and Bones Backyard is a blue house on the corner of Main St. in Rowlett, Tx, that has been transformed into something magical. This Mexican-Inspired "chicken shop" is offering fried & rotisserie chicken, classic cocktails, and live music in a rustic setting. The menu is diverse and offering all things chicken that is brined 24 hours, fried and can be order breaded or naked( for the gluten-free in you). They also have rotisserie chicken, tenders, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wings, along with unique sides. Poblano mashed potatoes, habanero mac n cheese, mexican corn, etc... often garnished with fresh radish and cilantro around out the menu, with top notch service to boot. Mi marido ordered the breaded fried chicken, mexican corn and poblano mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was well seasoned with a great crunch. The potatoes had good flavor, but were barely warm. I can imagine their greatness heated. The mexican corn on the other hand was the real elote deal! The fresh snap of sweet corn, dosed with cotija cheese and spices lives up to the hype! Sweet, spicy, savory, it hit all the flavor profiles. I had the naked chicken with an order crinkle fries(faves) which was greatly appreciated for it's gluten-freeness and flavor. However, it was abit overcooked. Which left it thready and a little dry. The sauce that accompanied it, was needed, but shouldn't have been, while the fries were fresh, but undercooked. Brick & Bones is an eatery in a converted old house, or at least it looks that way, in Rowlett. It has a nice, quaint vibe with friendly service. I usually get the fried chicken and a side. Very good flavor, but the three piece order may not be enough to fill you even with a side of green beans or Mac and Cheese. Last visit I had the six piece fried chicken and got full with a piece or two left over. One star is deducted from the rating due to the poor mixed drink situation. The prices are exorbitant and the volumes are stingy. That is the sort of thing that makes me go elsewhere with good HH specials. $14 for a meager drink isn't my idea of value. I cant believe we took so long to visit this place in our neighborhood! I am so glad we visited this past weekend. Service was excellent. Bricks & Bones? I expected ribs, burgers, bricks? It is only chicken. Super cute atmosphere with outdoor tables and games for the kiddos. Service started extremely friendly but then they forgot we were on the patio. Once they remembered, it was very good. The bad, food comes in takeout containers with plastic cups and forks. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste good either. I had the Barnyard Salad, no flavor at all. The rotisserie chicken was reheated on a flat ground and was dried out shreds. $12ish. My hubs had the 3 piece house special chicken, waay overcooked in grease that needed to be filtered or changed. $11 with no sides. If you are serving fast food, the price needs to reflect that. Took myself to dinner. Really cute place. There's ample seating outside in the yard and on the patio. The place is dimly light really romantic but yet casual. Loved the aesthetics . There was live music. A man playing guitar singing country music. My server was Isaac, he was a doll. He provided amazing service. There was also a lady I imagine is a manager she was also the bomb. I had two bourbon cocktails. They must have a real mixologist because the drinks were pretty, well balanced, tastes great, and delivered on the spirit lol. The chicken was really juicy, loved the skin. It's served with hot sauce, lime, cilantro (all these were a good accompaniment) I also had their bowl. It was extremely filling. Food I ordered the chicken and waffles, it came with a sauce on the meal. There was also a side of fries with the meal. Overall it was decent, lightly seasoned, but the mixture of sweet and savory wasn't as strong as I would have expected it. Service I sat at the bar, the service was good, our bar tender was attentive and made sure we had constant refills. There was also a waitress that kept checking in to make sure we were doing good with our meal. Ambiance The location is actually an older house that was repurposed so entering there is a dining area with a couple of tables that looks like it used to be a sun room. Further back is the bar which is small with about 5 chairs and a tv along with several drinks. There is an upstairs portion but I'm not too sure if people are allowed to go upstairs. There is also an outdoor section that is being built and should provide a patio and some outdoor eating experiences soon. First time here and we'll definitely be back. The covered patio area is super chill -- lots of natural light, TVs for the game, and a nice breeze with the open sides. It's a great setup whether you're just grabbing lunch or hanging out for a while. I had the chicken and waffles and they were amazing. Perfectly crispy chicken, fluffy waffles, and the house-made hot sauce added the right amount of kick without being overwhelming. We were greeted by our server soon after being seated. Our server was kind and very attentive, checking on us regularly. I had the sexy chicken and my husband had the chimichurri chicken sandwich. Both were very good and we would definitely order them again. The sandwich came with a dude of their in house pinwheel chips, which were surprisingly good. The sexy chicken is served with a side salad, very little vinaigrette dressing. It needed more dressing for flavor, but the radishes were nice to tame the heat from the chicken. For dessert we tried the banana pudding, since it is one of our favorite desserts. We were extremely dissatisfied with the banana pudding. It came in a plastic to-go container as if it were just purchased from a convenience store. Oddly, there were chocolate chips on top. The cup consisted mostly of the whipped cream. This is what knocked it down a star. I do not recommend wasting $6 of the cup of cool whip with chocolate chips they call banana pudding. read more

The drinks are overpriced, food was ok. The music was very loud, and not even a good choice actually, and the staff was not well trained. Stopped in for a nightcap with my wife. They had live music out by the patio area but we opted for the bar since it was hot and muggy out. We were received by the bartender named Jeremy. I really wanted to like this place and finally have a decent option near Rockwall that had good fried chicken. I can't say I found that place yet- I've NEVER had chicken thighs or legs SO dry. The green beans were loaded with onions (which dominated the flavor vs the green bean). The elotes were tepid at best, and seemed like canned corn was the base. We thought food was wonderful, and we didn't even order their signature entree, the fried chicken. I ordered the Chimichurri Chicken Sandwich. It was delicious, the breading on the chicken was fantastic, the bun was excellent, and the whole sandwich was huge. My wife ordered the Forbidden Chicken, and she absolutely loved it. The grilled chicken was mouth watering, and the forbidden rice medley was beyond great. I tried some of hers, and I think I'll probably get it next time. If you are looking for a healthier entree, this one is a keeper. The server was very helpful, attentive, and friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant was well. The chicken was still warm, crunchy, and juicy but needed more salt in the brine. The sides sounded really interesting but were a little underwhelming and needed more of their main flavor (e.g. more pablano in their pablano potatoes) along with more salt.
