The steak was the juiciest and most tender one I have ever had, so definitely worth the money. The house salad was great too, better than most sad salads elsewhere, lol. They don't serve complimentary bread with your meal, which was the only downside to the meal. The restaurant has a multi-layered layout so the wait staff definitely get a good workout with all the stairs. Next time I will go on a nice day and sit outside because it looked nice. read more

CC is a great spot located in Rockwall, great ambiance. We dined for the all you can eat brunch at $33 a person, was it worth it...maybe. The variety of items isn't as large as expected, however what was offered was good. Keep in mind because it is a buffet, the trays are often empty, food isn't hot, and it's busy with everyone trying to get their food. The set up is a bit chaotic as the space is small. We decided to try Culpeppers for our anniversary on Valentine's Day, which might've been our mistake. We were so crammed into that restaurant that you were almost on top of each other. I'm hoping they just did that for Valentine's Day so they could accommodate more people and this is not going to be the standard. We had the spinach dip and chips for appetizer and they were very good. I had the 9 ounce ribeye and hubby had a fillet both were cooked perfectly. We had the baked potato for a side. They both were very good. They cooked them exactly like we ordered them. The service was so so but I'm hoping that was because it was so crowded. We'll try it one more time. The food was pretty good. We had a reservation but it wasn't full or even halfway full so they didn't ask- just took us to a table. The server came out really quickly and was very cheerful. We ordered drinks and the calamari appetizer which the man really enjoyed. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. For the main entree I asked about the chicken fried lobster but the server had never had it. She mentioned that it was pretty popular so I went ahead and opted for that with the wedge salad and grilled squash. The man ordered the ribeye with onion strings and a baked potato. We eaten most of them though, out of the dish before the long promised plates turned up. My husband's chicken was flat and dry and the mashed potatoes that accompanied it were actually inedible. To his credit the server asked how it was going and replaced them with a baken potato, it wasn't much better. I ordered the Ribeye, it was cooked well and tasted great. The sweet potato it came with was overbaked and I did not know it was coming soaked in honey butter with chopped walnuts. Oh and the Cesar salad they gave me was yesterday's chopped lettuce, brown edges and all. It started storming while we were there and the roof leaks, so there's that. The reservation was for patio seating but they gave us a table inside and we requested a table in the patio. What's the point of a reservation if the details are overlooked? The live band inside the patio was good. Be aware that drinks in the patio are served in plastic cups only. Started off with margaritas which were nothing to rave about. Chose to switch to red wine. The food was mediocre at best, the people next to us were so loud and were talking about super personal things at the table. Our tables were so incredibly close so it was hard not to feel like we were in their conversation. My fajitas were not seasoned. They were the worst fajitas I've never had. My boyfriend got a combo plate and that was okay. The cigars were the best part of his meal. We immediately tipped the person who was there for live music when we got there because she didn't have any money in her guitar case but then she quickly took a "break" and came back on right before we left. When we left we noticed that she took the money we gave her out of her case and it was empty again so that must be a strategy she uses to get more money. The whole experience was not good. This is for the Dallas location. We went for mother's day. Our server was Gina. She didn't wish my mom or me a happy mother's day. Anytime we asked for drinks or a.new plate, she looked at us like we were idiots. We ordered iced tea with spinach dip & chips which was so yummy, we ate and scraped the whole entire bowl. The chips were nice and crispy too. My boyfriend ordered the Smash Burger which was A+ Good and I ordered the Chicken Fajitas, which were So Moist and So Yummy!!! They came sizzling with caramelized onions and homemade soft flour tortillas! Seriously, it's TOP 5 favorite chicken fajita's I've ever had. While visiting family in TX we had dinner at this restaurant. Everything from start to finish was excellent. We went on a Friday night at 7:15pm. The hostess greeting was pleasant and welcoming. They had a live band which added to the amazing ambiance of the night. We sat outside. Our server Sarah was amazing. She communicated the menu items very descriptively when we inquired. She consistently checked on our table. The service manager Joe was also great. The server who brought the salad was friendly and funny. The manager also came over to check on us. I've NEVER said this about any restaurant but the service here was IMPECCABLE!! We started with an appetizer of coconut shrimp which was delicious. For dinner we had Culpepper chicken, smothered chop steak, 6oz filet which was cooked to perfection, chicken fried steak. Everything was great. The portions are just right. I opted for a cosmo. Best cosmo I have had in a long time. One recommendation is do not sit at the table under the speakers outside. It's hard to hear your dinner guests. We were screaming at each other to hear one another. We did as for the volume to be turned down. We enjoyed a fantastic brunch buffet at Culpepper's Rockwall location on Easter Sunday. This was our first visit to the restaurant. The buffet options and variety, which also included a craving station, were expanded for Easter and did not disappoint. Everything was superb! The atmosphere, staff, live music on the patio, and the smooth flow of navigating the buffet without any bottlenecks were all commendable. I have wanted to try Culpepper since moving to the Rockwall area in 2009 but then we moved. Now that we are back I decided that the day before Valentine's Day would be a great time. Then I saw the reviews... and was turned off. So glad I didn't let a few harsh critics stop me from going. The ambiance is very Texas-y which I LOVE! Cowhide chairs, horn chandeliers, etc. Service was great! Vivian was really busy and she forgot my sweetener for my tea but the rest of the service was fantastic. Maybe because it was a Tuesday night? My husband and I had the porterhouse for 2. It was a great price and very tasty. My complaint was the side item choices were all carbs except for green beans. The guacamole was not good, very acidic, the lime juice was covering the underripe avocado. For a steakhouse, I wish they had more options on the cuts of meat they serve. I found the prices to be on par with a Saltgrass, not overpriced at all. The triple chocolate cake looked very rich and overindulgent- I was bracing myself for something super sweet but to my delight, it was not! Very light chocolate flavor, even the frosting was not super sweet. I will be back for the cake alone. read more

We visited Culpepper for the Fajita Friday special advertised on social media, we stopped in around 11:30am. Seated after a few minute wait and we were greeted by our server promptly with fresh tortillas and butter. We each ordered the fajita specials to try, one beef and one chicken both with flour tortillas (no substitutions or changes). Our fajita orders arrived within 1-2 minutes after ordering and overall was just okay. Portion sizes were small and the plates contained mostly onion no peppers; served with a small side of rice, beans, cheese and toppings. Flavor wise the food was bland, however the chicken had more flavor than the beef. We were hopeful based on the fajita advertising on social media, but not as impressed as we'd hoped.
