Calamari

Calamari and the sauce with it were both excellent! We ordered from the HH menu. The martini was good too.

Amazing dinner. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Ambiance is relaxing and inviting. Steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted superb. Lobster needed a bit more flavor but was good, just not over the top. Multiple sides shared in our party and all were amazing. Definitely shareable portions. Desserts, do NOT skip these. Delicious and again portions make them shareable.

I was excited to try this place, and it made a great first impression -- they were ready for our reservation as soon as we walked in, and the space looked really nice. We were seated in the back room, which was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, there were a couple of gnats flying around our table. I mentioned it to our server, but they didn't seem too concerned. As you can see from the photo, one even landed on my plate, which was disappointing and took away from the overall experience. That said, the food was good and so was the service otherwise. Despite the hiccup, I do plan to return -- hopefully next time without any unwanted flying guests.

Sourdough. It was delicious!

My hubs and I booked reservations for New Year's Eve to try something new. I was a little surprised when I had to put a $50 deposit down to make reservations, but I did it. So, we show up at the Harbor. Surprisingly, it wasn't as busy as normal, which was nice. We valeted as we knew the restaurant would validate the parking. We were seated quickly. It didn't appear to be that busy. There was a party of 8 in the room we were in, other tables just had 2-4ish. The restaurant is nice and where we sat does face the lake. We couldn't see it since it was dark, but we knew it was there. The waitress greeted us and said the water would be right behind her. They weren't. We waited at least 10 minutes for a drink, and we only had Diet Coke and water. It always surprises me when alcohol comes so much faster but whatever. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. Scott got the salmon and I got a filet. They have shareable sides but his came with a side so I was at a loss on what to do. I wished they had a smaller option for when it's only one person that needs a side but likes to try things. I ordered the twice baked potato and Brussels sprouts. While we wait for our food, they brought some sourdough bread, which was delicious. This was at least 25 minutes in so we weren't sure why it took that long, but again, it was delicious bread. Our food was good. The steak actually comes on some mashed potatoes. While it's not a lot, it was plenty for me with the Brussel sprouts I'd ordered and the appetizer. So, I wished I hadn't spent $15 on a baked potato because I just couldn't eat it all. We did take a bite of it to try it and it was good. The filet was cooked well and it tasted really good. Scott enjoyed his as well. So, the food was good. It all had a nice flavor. It was just small things on how you order and if the menu would've said "filet on a smear of mashed", I would've been a little happier to know what I was getting. I might have tried a different side. We did get the death by chocolate cake to go. It was really good, not too sweet or rich. It came with a cherry compote that balanced it perfectly. This and the bread were my favorite! Our waitress was super nice. One tip would be for the tablecloths to be ironed or something. These were so wrinkled our glass almost fell over. I dont normally care but this is supposed to be an elevated dining. I mean, I paid $50 just to be there. They did credit the $50 to the bill. However, be aware, I don't know if this was just for NYE but the bill came with a 20% tip already included. I knew that already though and I would've tipped that anyways. But if you aren't aware and tip and extra 20%, you might be upset. Another thing we were surprised by is they charged a credit card fee. I don't see many nice restaurants doing that. So, we were a little surprised. This has been long but I wanted everyone to know some of the stuff I wish I had known. Again, everyone was really nice but I doubt we'll go back. There are plenty of places around that are just as good and don't nickel and dime you.

We have only been to the lounge..lovely ambiance with the 360 glass views of the lake and promenade. Old Fashioned is the bartenders signature .. very good.We order the pork chop (over mashed potatoes) and a side (asparagus or other) and share!! Then we get to have dessert too! Always good food and service. Great spot for out of town friends and date nights too.

Very beautiful ambiance. HOWEVER, I ordered red snapper and I feel confident that they duped me with a less expensive fish! I didn't make a fuss at the time because we were celebrating our anniversary, however I got more pissed the more I thought about it!

The restaurant is beautiful with excellent food, drinks, and service! My husband and I are foodies who carefully compare quality vs price and were very pleased! The servers refold your napkin when you get up and sweep away the bread crumbs. I love those extra touches of classiness, though it did not feel pretentious. Watching the sun set over the water was amazing!

Everything was delicious! Service was crazy fast and our waitress I think her name was Lauren by the lounge area was amazing.

Never have I ever: gone to a restaurant where EVERYONE cleared their plate. We went to Sears with our close friends in Texas to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. I had the scallops which were delicious and well cooked. They were not overcooked at all. We ordered Brussels sprouts, mushrooms and Lobster Mac n' Cheese as Shareables for the table. Everything was delicious! I will say that my cocktail (Peach Martini) was way too sweet and could have used a bit of seltzer water, but it was served in a really unique martini glass which kept it ice cold. Last but not least, the bathroom was a VIBE: 10/10. It had a fireplace, awesome lightening and a full body mirror. They even had lipgloss samples. Our server was a gentleman and they even gave us a complimentary anniversary dessert which happened to be our favorite! I would definitely go again!

My salmon entree with grilled fennel, roasted tomatoes, pureed butternut squash, and Israeli couscous. Delicious.

I went to Sear for a free meal in exchange for a financial planning presentation. The food was exceptional. I had a salad, a salmon entree and the crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was truly amazing.

They both were very good. They cooked them exactly like we ordered them. The service was so so but I'm hoping that was because it was so crowded. We'll try it one more time. The food was pretty good. Oh, another note. They had a guy playing guitar and singing and he was very good. Before he started they had blaring music! Another thing they need to address!

Flying Saucer in Garland was the location of my brother's rehearsal dinner. It wasn't the originally planned location since the first venue canceled, but I'm glad we ended up here instead. My girlfriend and I arrived shortly after the party started, looked at their beer list, and were both overwhelmed and impressed by the literally hundreds of options, from draft to canned and bottled selections. They also have a full bar with mixed drinks and wine options, which is great for my grandparents. I drank a La Fin du Monde, which is one of my favorite beers to ever exist, a Guinness, a NA Michelob, and a specialty blackberry cider drink that I was a huge fan of. I wish I remembered what they called it. We had a huge supply of food to choose from, including wings, tenders, quesadillas, and more. But what truly made the night was hanging around Lake Ray Hubbard and enjoying the breeze with our brews. The location truly makes the place what it is. This place is beer heaven. Everyone had a great time at the rehearsal dinner, and Flying Saucer's staff was super attentive the whole night. I was very impressed overall with the experience. A billboard off I-30 reads that they have 200 different craft beers and a lake patio. I can now confirm both of those points. RIYL: Every beer.

I loved the place then and I'm heartened to say that I loved it still. Of course it's the beer. Probably the best selection of beers on draft in DFW. With new beers added frequently. Always fresh and well presented. Add to that that the servers are well versed and helpful. The food isn't bad either. The menu is diverse enough so that most diners can find a number of tasty options. My favorite is the Saucer Burger. But I really don't go there for the food. Ambiance is casual. There's a lot of dark wood. Dart boards for the competitive. And seating? I recommend a table near the windows with a view of Lake Ray Hubbard. Or, weather permitting, a table on the deck. All in all, a great place to have a bite and a beer. Responsibly of course.

Since we were going to the show, why not go for dinner? I mean we have never been. Love that you can book reservations online. Super easy to get through the gate and it has amazing views. We were greeted by the host who was so kind. The place was super busy, I assume due to the show. So, we had to wait about 10 minutes. Table right in the middle of action... 1 min... 2 min... 7 minutes no greeting nothing and a woman walks by and says she will be right us. Cool. Thanks for letting us know. Walks past us 4 more times and nothing. The good thing is clearly someone else noticed and brought us water and said she was helping while the server got caught up. Okay. Everything will be OK. Whole ordering our drinks the server took over. Ordered drinks. App and 2 entrees. Then she was gone. 30 minutes after seating... nothing. Not even drinks yet. 32 minutes... she brings my husband's can of beer. No glass. No manhatten. She says they are working on mine. After 32 minutes (at least 20 minutes after ordering our drink)... can we have a glass? 5+ minutes later she brings me my manhattan... in a wine glass? Before I smell it I ask if its a manhattan because it looked like wine (damn good pour). Her response... I don't know. Never had one before. And still no glass. A. The Manhattan was fabulous and a ridiculously amazing pour. And for the cost... damn. Thats amazing. We decided she never rang in our drinks. Its the only thing that makes sense. It had really quieted down and the bartenders were working hard. And thats fine. But own it. Another 40 minutes and she stopped by once. Said our food was coming. But honestly haven't had a server who seemed to care less about her table in quite a while. Food came about 45 minutes after ordering. We ordered the Philly egg rolls... flavor was awesome. But they were cold. Clearly they had been sitting... for a while. Literally the cheese had melted onto each other and cooled. The entrees came at the same time. Smash burger and chicken fried chicken. Both honestly really good. The mashed potatoes were cold though... not sure if its because they werent kept warm in the prep station or if our plates just died waiting on server. Flavors were good though, including the gravy and fries. Good seasoning. We asked for ranch. Can you believe she never brought it? Nope us either. Seriously. The service was the worst we had in a while. It seemed exlusive to our table/server. I finally got her name at the end... Leandra. I am not trying to put her on blast everyone has a bad night. When my husband asked about the ranch. She said oh I forgot that too.. no apologies for that or the entire night. I said well it has been a rough night... she said yep. Here's the check. We are super nice... lots of grace... but this service made me almost want to not return. But... this is a small business trying to create something for our community. So im going to return oncs more and score is based on potential. But please owners.... staff is hard to come by, and maybe it was a rough night... but no one will survive if 30 minutes with not even drinks and cold food is acceptable. For our entrée, we split the meatball lasagna. Again, a huge single portion, so splitting it was perfect. We have many terrific restaurants around us - Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake. However, this was one of the finest Italian meals we have had anywhere, including Little Italy in Boston. Everything was so flavorful and hearty. The garlic toast served with the lasagna was also excellent. By the way, the old-fashioned with Makers Mark bourbon was superb as well. Based on our first-time experience, there is nothing NOT to like about this establishment. I just wish the portions weren't so generous so that we might have had room for the coconut cream pie. BTW, Hailey is an excellent server.
