a basket of fried fish and fries

I love this local place. Variety of options to choose from the menu. Ordered some fillet catfish, shrimp and oysters. They are very crispy and flavorful. Fast and friendly food service. Feels very cozy and inviting.

#4

Based on reviews and photos of food I just had to try John's Seafood. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I ordered the lunch #4. When I received my order, it looked amazing just like the photos that I'd seen. I took a bite into the fish and it was thin-thin...like paper, dry, overcooked, and not only that...IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT CATFISH. The shrimp were the same...just dry and thin...not even sure that it was shrimp. The Fanta drink was flat. Needless to say, I won't be back.

I have visited this restaurants for more than 10 years now. Always crispy, warm and so tasty food. The people here are always kind. My all time favorite restaurants, definitely!

It was ok. I think it's Swai and not catfish. Fries could use some seasoning. Good Customer Service.

However, I was craving some good catfish with a very crispy not too greasy crust.

If I could give this place zero stars I would!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Customer service is…read morehorrible... my husband asked them if the "catfish" was real catfish and the waiter said yes it came out and if you eat catfish then you know Real catfish and it was not so he sent it back. We could tell they were being dishonest because she came back twice saying they say it's catfish. The waitress never came back to check on us after that. The chicken wings were undercooked The crawfish didn't really taste like live crawfish (I eat crawfish all the time and know the difference) We didn't complain just knew in that moment we would never come back. My husband went to pay and they had the nerve to charge him for that catfish. He said I sent it back because it's not what you advertised and the other waitress came from the back and confirmed it's swai. But still the manager continued to stand firm saying no refunds on food. He said it was posted.. my husband said where....It's on the napkin holder!!! No physical menus to look at. Deceitful To us it's about principle don't advertise your product as something it's not and expect people to pay for it when you admittedly said it was not catfish. This should be against the law.. one could be allergic to this fish. Anyways they were rude, not attentive, food undercooked, under seasoned crawfish.... I should have paid attention to the reviews I will just make the drive to the Mansfield Location they are the best of this franchise hands down. I wouldn't be surprised if this place closes in the next six months they need a lot of work!! Customer Satisfaction should be of utmost importance If a seafood place is not busy during crawfish season that is a red flag

While I was there I could see some of them stare at me and then would whisper to another staff member. When I got my order the snow crabs were barely even hot and the dungeness was still cold as soon as I opened it. I told the server who had me place both items into one bag. Another server came back and asked if I wanted the crabs to be remade and I said yes. Then the same server that took order back gave me the same exact bag I gave her back with the snow crabs in it. After that she never came back to my table. Since the crab legs were at least warm I kept it. By the time they finished with the Dungeness crab, we had finished all the other items we had ordered. I tried to speak to a manager but she wasn't available and so I waited but it was taking way too long. My complaint/issue wouldn't be solved today, and I do intend to follow with the establishment.

I have always loved my food that I have gotten at the seafood shack…read more Tonight I ordered by the drive-in, the tacos Vallarta with the fish. I got home and there was no cabbage slaw nor the white sauce only the orange sauce in my taco order.... the cabbage slaw is what sets these fish tacos off that are delicious. I've taken many people to this location & taking several of my Spanish friends from Mexico who loves this dish. I am very disappointed tonight because this does not taste as the usual order of taco Vallarta that I have gotten for several years now with your Mesquite location. I just called the store and got two people who could not speak any English and understand what I was trying to tell about my order. when I asked for the young girl who was at the drive-in window who spoke English she was not available. I talked to another young lady who did not really understand what I was talking about, but then she took my name and said the next time I come up there, they would give me an extra slaw. Duh, really!!! There should be someone at this restaurant that can speak English when there is something wrong with an order. The young lady asked me did I want to drive back up there; I told her NO - I live 15 minutes away. My meal that I was really excited for become very disappointing tonight. I know it's a Friday night, but that doesn't matter where the quality wasn't right, not what I'm used to.

The food was amazing. I recommend trying the shrimp enchiladas & hush puppies…read more Other than great food, it's super affordable and convenient for big families. The only thing I'd suggest is having more space for people to sit comfortably as it is pretty small and tables are too close to each other.

After a long day in transit, all we wanted was something deeply satisfying, the kind of meal that feels like a reward. When my mother suggested Aunt Irene's Kitchen, there was no hesitation. She spoke of it with the reverence reserved for places that become part of your personal geography former neighborhood staples, the kind you measure other meals against. Years ago, when she lived nearby, this was her spot. And now, standing beside her in a line that stretched out the door, it was clear we weren't the only ones holding onto that sentiment. The queue moved with surprising ease, a quiet efficiency that felt almost practiced. Inside, the energy was unpretentious and steady. Our cashier, while not particularly warm, was brisk and knowledgeable answering questions with the kind of clarity that suggests confidence in the product more than performance. We ordered simply: wings with fries, and two plates of fried fish with fries. The wings hadn't been part of the original plan, but a fellow patron mid-meal and visibly excited leaned over to insist. It felt like advice worth taking. And it was. The food arrived in its own time this is not a place for the impatient but what it lacked in speed, it more than made up for in flavor. The fish was crisp and tender, the wings richly seasoned, each bite layered with the kind of depth that doesn't rush itself. Then there was the jalapeño tucked alongside the plate like a quiet signature. It cut through the richness with a bright, deliberate heat, a small but memorable detail that elevated the entire experience. The dining room itself is modest and well-kept, with many opting to take their meals to-go or retreat to their cars. There's an ease to it all ample parking, friendly faces coming and going, a sense of community that lingers longer than the wait. Because that's the thing about places like this: they don't just feed you, they remind you why the wait was worth it.

The shrimp and wing box was massive. Wings so good they didn't even need the lemon pepper sauce that it came with. The shrimp was addicting. I found myself regretting not getting an additional order of shrimp. (I will next time). The order came with a side of 2 pieces of well seasoned Cajun flavored corn and potato pieces that were covered with a hefty amount of cheese. A Dallas gem for sure.
