I never got a chance to eat there so I'm not able to compare the two. I however was very disappointed in the food itself. First off the potato salad was not good at all.... It was very bland in taste. The ribs we ordered were very salty for my taste. However the baked beans were pretty good. The prices seem to be about the same as everyone in the surrounding area... The customer service was top notch and the establishment was very clean! They do deliver with Ubereats so that is a plus for some people that are living in the surrounding areas... Best loaded baked potato in town. Today my husband and I wanted bbq. We stumbled upon this place only to discover we had already tried their soul food when they were located in Duncanville. I originally wanted jerk chicken but they were sold out. So we both ordered loaded baked potatoes.... it was a food blessing in disguise!!! I ordered ribs and spicy sausage and my husband ordered ribs and brisket. However, we were surprised to see that they added chicken to both potatoes. Let me just say I was SATISFIED with the smokey taste of the meats and the huge portions we got. The meats and potatoes were cooked to perfection!! We really could have shared one. At least we had leftovers for the next day. We will be returning soon. Hopefully before they sell out of jerk chicken and peach cobbler. The rasta pasta is also on my list to try. My family love some Smokin bbq in DeSoto TX. Everything is good from the famous ribs, sliced brisket, sausage, smoked turkey. Their stuffed meat potatoes is the best I've ever had. I'm originally from California moved to Texas back in the 60's and have eaten bbq from Chicago to Kansas and all the in between places down route 66 and I will vouch for Smokin bbq as the best consistently bar-b-que I've ever had. The food is good most of the time, but their ribs and tips are hit and miss to me. The brisket is delicious and mac n cheese delectable (some of the best). I've ordered from them around 4 or 5 times and now know the brisket and sausage will be it for me when ordering meat. In my opinion you always have to slow cook meats after they've gotten that smoke flavor from being on the grill. This assures they'll be tender. In addition to that, put meats on the grill only after the coals turn white to prevent that lighter fluid taste. Othewise, food is good and worth a visit! I'm in Texas visiting from California and wanted some good Texas BBQ. I was told Zenna's is the place to go. We walked in and took a look at the menu. They have lots to choose from....sausage, chicken, ribs and brisket as well as multiple side dishes, salads and sandwiches. The two very nice guys behind the counter offered us a sample of brisket. That made my decision very easy, since it was SO good! They offered it with sauce on top or on the side, which was great. So I got my brisket with a side of mac and cheese and a side of sweet potatoes. Lot's of carbs I know, but I wanted to try them both. Very glad I did. The mac and cheese was delicious, very cheesy and the sweet potatoes were yummy as well. But the brisket was the best I've had!! It was fork tender and the BBQ sauce added to its deliciousness. My brother had the brisket and sausage and agreed it was also the best he's had. Turns out they just opened this week and are having their grand opening this Friday, March 3rd.
