Ordering at the counter is quick and easy. Depending on how busy they are, I usually wait about 10-15 minutes for my order to be ready. The longest I've waited in line before ordering was maybe five minutes, so definitely not bad at all. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, even if occasionally a little distracted by the action in the kitchen (understandable -- it smells amazing back there). I always check my order before leaving, and it's been correct every time. My go-to item starting out was the Sheri's Super Spud -- I always get the two-meat version with brisket and beef sausage. And wow... that potato is huge. Easily feeds two or three people. The brisket usually has a perfect bark and seasoning, though occasionally it leans a bit salty for my taste. But more often than not, it's just right. The sausage is excellent -- a coarse grind with a nice snap from the casing, just the way I like it. I've also tried the Pork Ribs, and they've earned a permanent spot on my order list. Tender, moist, and packed with flavor, with just the right bite off the bone. One little thing I appreciate: they give a generous amount of BBQ sauce with to-go orders -- not the stingy portions some other places give. Seating for 50 people and we came at lunch time shortly after they opened for the day. The staff are focused. Ms. Michelle took our order. This seems to be the local lunch spot for the local industry workers. We ordered our normal, brisket, ribs, sausage, banana pudding. They have a variety of bottled sodas, water, and juice. Prices are about the same for bbq around the DFW. Let's see if it lives up to the hype. Brisket Light smoke. Definitely could use more salt in the rub. Pretty sure it makes a good chopped beef but nothing to drive across Texas for. Ribs No! Bland. Smoky but no seasoning. It's as if the expectation is for the sauce to carry the meat. Sausage Best thing we had today. Both the regular and cheddar jalapeño were great. Would definitely come back for the sausage. Banana Pudding Good finish to our lunch date. We gave this place a try for dinner tonight! The food portions were insane. I had the brisket sausage baked potato and nearly dropped the bag. The sausage is so good and I love the sweeter bbq sauce that it was topped with. The potato itself was good but a bit too much butter. My mama had the brisket plate and it was so good. The brisket is so tender and flavourful. The greens were good and had a little kick. The baked beans were sweet and smoky. We ordered green beans but didn't get them. :( Service was great! The bbq sauce is a a good flavor enhancer but it does not overpower the smoke flavor of the bbq, if one likes to taste the meat, this is one for you. What a great find! The service is friendly, the food is delicious and the serving sizes are ridiculously large. I ordered moist brisket and they nailed it. Not a dry bite to be found. The mac and cheese had a great cheesy flavor and the place was very clean and upbeat. I have two critiques, although they aren't enough to lower this rating from a five. First, I'm not a fan of restaurants selling bottled soft drinks. Give me a soda fountain any day. And second, the green beans weren't cooked enough and the beans inside were a little crunchy. I would have taken a picture of the good but it didn't last. I travel state to state (Coast to Coast) for BBQ and good food. This is definitely one of the top 5 hidden gems in the DFW area. I got a 3 meat plate with Ribs, Sliced Brisket and Beef Links (last beef links were at Flints BBQ in Oakland, Ca) which was all really good. Everyone was welcoming and the service was great. Had a chance to try this barbecue on one day last week and I have to say I was very well pleased. I had the two meat plate which consisted of brisket and sausage and I must say the sausage was outstanding and I usually go to a restaurant and say hey, give me the fatty part of the brisket, but I like the fact that they call it the moist part of the brisket and it had a very good smoky flavor. I have had a couple of bad experiences that will keep me from ever going back. First off I called to place a preorder for our office Thanksgiving party and was told they would call me back in an hour but did not hear from them until I was arriving home which was 4 or 5 hours later. So we went with another restaurant. The next thing is I called in an order. They told me it would be 20 min. I drove there from Dallas 20 min later, waited in line, had my order read back to me and it was wrong. To be told by the owner I had to wait until they fill the orders of the people currently there (which was literally a basketball team!). He was rude and unaccommodating and allowed his teenaged employee to be rude as well. She told me it was my fault because I ordered brisket when I most certainly did not! I do not eat beef and have not for over 20 years!!!! While rolling her eyes the whole time. On top of all that The greens, mac and cheese and green beans were awful and at the prices they charge you would think they would appreciate local residents eating at their establishment. Treat locals like crap while desperately jumping through hoops for folks you will never see again. I paid $19+ for a baked potato. Almost $50 for two one meat baked potatoes. read more
