Yall - do not sleep on this place! Food is so good and portions are a nice size. They just started including chicken in their menu. If you like spicy they have a very nice spicy sauce available. Owner is so kind. They even have a prayer wall. Great food, great people. Come support them!

I stopped by on the way home from an appointment and picked up a sliced brisket sandwich and jalapeno potato salad to go. I asked for lots of bark and received exactly what I wanted, a bark-covered fatty slice and a perfectly-crusted slice of lean. There was no sauce on the sammie and if you need sauce for this 'que, you probably put ketchup on your well-done ribeye. Leave this place to the carnivores who appreciate how meat is to be prepared. The jalapeno potato salad was good, a slightly runny, chunky kind with a mayo base. I prefer a smooth mustard version, but this one was above average. I didn't get an overwhelming jalapeno taste, which I wouldn't mind, but a slight hint of jalapeno. Overall it's worth the trip in my opinion. I live in Waxahachie and we have limited choices for BBQ, so I can see myself driving North when I want some good charred mammal flesh.

I have been here before and had their brisket, ribs, and jalapeño sausage plate. I had their Mac and cheese, brisket beans and some potato salad for my sides. Everything was cooked to perfection. My wife had the turkey sandwich. This time I tried their Twisted Texan sandwich. Sadly they ran out of turkey for my wife. (get your order in early because they will sellout) It was delicious and filling. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. It's a must have for me. The restaurant is located right across from the High School and in the Chevron plaza.

This place was great!!! Came by during the week for dinner and loved it the place is clean and the staff is so nice! We had the backed potato and the chopped brisket sandwich special. Only thing is the brisket sandwich was small but for the price it was not bad since it also domwith chips and drink. Excited to come back!

Wow, this is excellent! Friend had two meats, brisket and turkey and said it was tender and great flavor. I had Twisted Texas sandwich with side of beans. Meats were delicious and the beans very perfect. Definitely will return often.

Brisket City is a diamond in Red Oak! My husband and I had the brisket! It was so Good! Melt in your mouth good! The stuffed Jalapeño wrapped in bacon, awesome! Sausage had the snap to it! You have to go give them a try! You won't regret it! We'll worth every bite!

This PLACE IS NO LONGER HERE. I'm pretty sure all these 5 stars reviews are fake. Drove out the way to come here and wasted my time.

One word delicious!!…read more Ordered regular and spicy brisket sandwiches, regular brisket fries, ribs, mac n cheese, and beans! Everything was splendid. Would try the truth baked potato next time too! Service was quick and kind. Ambiance is very homey with a family owned vibe and the ability to sign the wall during ur visit.

Walking into this place immediately gives you the feeling of an old-school neighborhood BBQ joint…read more The building itself is older and pretty small, with just a handful of booths and several small tables packed into the dining area. The decor is very minimal, but one wall completely covered in customer signatures honestly adds a nice personal vibe to the place. Ordering happens at the register tucked into the back corner, so when there's a line it cuts right past some of the tables. Definitely close quarters while people are eating, but it somehow still fits the character of the place. The gentleman taking orders was friendly, just not overly talkative. The lady who brought our food out was very polite and welcoming though, which I appreciated. Overall, the service was okay. Our food took about 10-15 minutes to come out, which felt a little long considering it didn't appear very busy other than one larger party already seated when we arrived. To be fair, we couldn't see what was happening in the kitchen. The only real frustrating part was waiting close to another 10 minutes for a to-go container after asking a few times. As for the food, I'd say it landed somewhere in the average range for Texas BBQ. Nothing was outright bad, but nothing really blew me away either. I ordered the loaded baked potato topped with brisket, link, two pork ribs, all the traditional baked potato toppings, and their spicy BBQ sauce. First off, the potato itself was fantastic. Huge, perfectly tender, and honestly exactly what a baked potato should be. The toppings were fresh and plentiful -- butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon pieces -- and it could have stood on its own as a solid meal even before adding the meats. The brisket was over chopped, which personally isn't my favorite style at a BBQ joint. I usually feel like finely chopped brisket loses some of the texture and full smoke flavor you get from sliced or a coarse chopped brisket cut to order. It stayed moist, but I really didn't pick up much smoke flavor from it. The link was unfortunately overcooked and dried out. The casing had tightened around the meat, and even sliced up it just didn't have much juice left in it. The ribs were probably the weakest part for me. They were on the smaller side, dry, and pretty tough with the meat cooked down close to the bone. Now with all of that said, the seasoning on the meats was excellent. Bold flavor across everything, and the spicy BBQ sauce was absolutely on point. I just wish the meats themselves had a little more life and moisture to match how good the seasoning tasted. Overall, everything felt pretty average to slightly below average for me, especially by Texas BBQ standards. On the positive side, the prices were actually very reasonable considering how expensive meat has become these days. I'd still come back again because I'd like to try some of the meats individually and let them stand on their own without being loaded onto a baked potato. There's definitely flavor here -- I just think the execution was a little inconsistent during this visit.

HUG BBQ I first…read morediscovered HUG BBQ through Instagram and decided to give them a try -- and I'm glad I did! I've only done take-out so far, and the experience has been solid every time. Ordering at the counter is quick and easy. Depending on how busy they are, I usually wait about 10-15 minutes for my order to be ready. The longest I've waited in line before ordering was maybe five minutes, so definitely not bad at all. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, even if occasionally a little distracted by the action in the kitchen (understandable -- it smells amazing back there). I always check my order before leaving, and it's been correct every time. My go-to item starting out was the Sheri's Super Spud -- I always get the two-meat version with brisket and beef sausage. And wow... that potato is huge. Easily feeds two or three people. The brisket usually has a perfect bark and seasoning, though occasionally it leans a bit salty for my taste. But more often than not, it's just right. The sausage is excellent -- a coarse grind with a nice snap from the casing, just the way I like it. I've also tried the Pork Ribs, and they've earned a permanent spot on my order list. Tender, moist, and packed with flavor, with just the right bite off the bone. One little thing I appreciate: they give a generous amount of BBQ sauce with to-go orders -- not the stingy portions some other places give. If you're in or near Lancaster and looking for great BBQ, definitely give HUG a shot. Friendly service, big portions, and solid flavor all around!

Wow! This was truly one of the best steaks I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The appetizers,…read moredeviled eggs and bacon-wrapped shrimp, were good. The Caesar salad was good, traditional, fresh, and the correct size. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. But the wagyu NY strip was just incredible. It was almost black on the outside and just warm on the inside, a perfect rare as wagyu beef should be. The meat was unctuous and delicious without being greasy or fatty. It was so richly umami flavorful, perfectly seasoned. It was just an excellent steak. The bourbon bread pudding was a huge serving and wonderfully flavorful. There was some nice bread to go with the meal too. The smoked old fashioned cocktail before dinner was excellent. And I got a nice Cabernet that perfectly paired with the steak. Our server was casual but friendly with a good balance of hospitality and service. This was truly a great dinner and one of the best steaks I've ever had... and all of this in Ennis, Texas. If you're reading this review, thank you... but just stop reading and go to Ruston Cattle Company.

Went here as we heard it was a sort of upscale steakhouse, seems more like a Dickey's BBQ style…read morevibe. Seating is not ideally comfortable for a one and a half to two hour dinner, ambience is not too loud, but not exactly leaning on the side of anything remotely formal. Good for groups, good if you like steak....I will say if you like steak that is overcooked with a 1/2inch burned crust and very salty. Was excited to try the wagyu filet but it was overdone and impossible to enjoy the tenderness when you had to bite through so much burnt. Noticed that they serve a crème brûlée, and unfortunately, it did not live up to it its hype: I received a oval dish about 6 inches long that had a smidge over - I kid you not - a quarter an inch of crème brûlée, including the soggy caramelized crust. When I ran my spoon from one end of the dish to the other, it barely filled up half the utensil - it was rather saddening. Now I am the kind of person that believes in at least a "two times whack" with the bottom of the spoon in order to break the lovely caramel crust on top of a crème brûlée; this poor little dessert was not even thick enough for the spoon to rest upon the crème brûlée without it sinking to the bottom of the dish instantly. Positive notes, our waitress was a little misinformed on the menu, she might've been new and so that was not her fault as she did well in trying to accommodate our party of three - one who is particularly hard of hearing - and their Caesar salad was average, but nothing outstanding, along with the potatoes and brussels sprouts we got along alongside the meal. All this being said, if you like a variety of big pieces of overcooked salted meat with a thick crust, this is the place for you.

There's a huge yard out back with plenty of picnic tables, which makes it perfect for hanging out when the weather's nice. Inside, the space is small, comfy, and neat. It feels well put together without trying too hard. There's even a fireplace that adds a nice touch--no idea if it's actually working, but it fits the vibe. The staff here really stands out. Super friendly, very polite, and they keep things simple--you order at the corner, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Easy and efficient. I went with the brisket taco, and it delivers. This isn't a tiny street taco--it's loaded. You get brisket, salsa negra, avocado crema, and pickled onions. The balance works really well. The salsa brings some acidity to cut through the fat, while the crema smooths everything out. Every bite comes together nicely. As for the brisket itself, the seasoning is solid but not overly aggressive. Personally, I'd like a bit more bark--it was a little thin for my taste. That said, the smoke ring is very prominent, and you can taste that deeper smoke flavor. Texture-wise, it was very tender--easily cut with a plastic fork. I did catch it later in the afternoon, and the lean slices were just a bit on the dry side for me. Overall, the vibe here is awesome and the tacos are legit. This is a spot I'll definitely be coming back to--looking forward to giving the brisket another shot, plus trying the pork ribs and some sides.
