poor service, long wait of over 2 hours, no timely announcements, food running out, small venue. ***** im editing the review as the owner responded and tried to avoid taking responsibility. Being short staffed (not true as i saw your employees walking around outside, chillin) is not an excuse for how you handled Thursday's Crawfish special. there was a line OUT THE DOOR, and everyone was confused as there was no communication to anyone about order status or wait time.... nobody was taking orders in a proactive fashion, you had to BEG an employee to take your order after waiting for 2 hours in line, before ordering i specially asked if there were crawfish left and how long it would take. she went to the back to check and told me 20 MINUTES. i came back in 20 minutes and the same people were still waiting on their crawfish. we were ALL told they are sold OUT for the night..... they promised to deliver the food bright and early the next day so we all left upset but hopeful. the next morning I have to call multiple times before finally, "Will" told me hes actually NOT doing delivery and i have to drive an hour to him again to get the crawfish. Ok. So i drive the hour to dat bayou spot. the employees proceed to tell me they are SOLD OUT OF EVERYTHING. i was about to cry. i told them i drove from out of town and i was also there the day before and they sold out of everything. you know what they said?? they would deliver it to me the next day fool me once..... i refused that. all of a sudden they came out the back with shrimp, turkey neck, and crawfish..... ALLL of that aside, THE FOOD WASNT EVEN GOOD noooo way you can have customer service that terrible, wait times that long, an establishment that small, attitude so bad, lies so ridiculous, AND STILL HAVE BAD FOOD!!! I am very shocked that this business is in operation and it makes me ashamed that they are black. but whatever. if you've been to houston you've had much better crawfish than this bayou spot. Hell, even razzoos can give you better service and crawfish. advise to management: stop lying. hire more people. dont have viral instagram ads if you cant handle the crowd. inform the long line of people standing waiting that you are going to have to wait 3+ hours for nasty food. stop saying you'll deliver stuff to get angry customers out of your face- this method doesnt work if you wont ACTUALLY DELIVER THE FOOD

Delicious. Will have you wanting more. Boiled the right way.

Unfortunately, my experience did not quite match the hype. I ordered the fried catfish fillet with collard greens, and while the meal was decent enough to eat, it was nothing particularly memorable. The catfish was cooked through, but it lacked the seasoning and crispy texture I usually expect from good southern-style fried fish. It tasted fairly plain and could have benefited from more flavor overall. The collard greens were also disappointing, as they seemed underseasoned and did not have the rich homemade taste that many people rave about in similar restaurants. The staff was courteous and the restaurant itself appeared clean and organized, so I can appreciate the effort in customer service. However, based on the food quality alone, I was left feeling underwhelmed considering the strong reviews and recommendations I had seen beforehand. It was not a terrible experience, but it also was not impressive enough to make me eager to return.

Whenever or anytime we have guests in town and we know that enjoy Cajun cuisine, we always bring them here, if they haven't been to a Pappadeaux's. We come here for the food, but especially for the friendly staff members and managers that work here. Their instances far in between where sometimes things don't work out, like the kitchen or the type of service for example, they've always made it right here very friendly, very professional as long it's communicated they can fix it. And as far as locations go, we love the flavors here. Like maybe it's because of the demographics, but we feel like we get more taste and kick within the seasonings of the foods at this particular location. We tried them all throughout DFW area and this by far is our favorite. It's closer to where we live very convenient and as always, very clean and delicious with the signature Pappadeaux's decorations all around. Love coming here, and thanks to all who make this place great!

I ordered the salmon with king crab and asked for my salmon medium because I don't like it rubbery. Unfortunately, the texture just wasn't for me, and I could only manage a couple of bites. What really stood out though was the service. Our waiter immediately noticed and offered to get a manager to take the entrée off our bill. We told him it wasn't necessary, but he still went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. We also realized we didn't even check what time they closed (the boys made the reservation), and right as I was finishing my Bloody Mary, we asked for another. He came back and let us know the bar had already closed and said he wasn't sure why they didn't make a "last call." You could tell he was worried it might affect his tip, even though we reassured him it absolutely wasn't his fault. That level of service and care is exactly why we keep coming back. Always a great experience.

The catfish is always--and I mean always--fried to absolute perfection, and they give you a generous portion that is easily enough to share. Plus, adding a drizzle of their hot jalapeño for that extra kick of spicy flavor on the fish just completely does it for me! Because this spot is so good, it can get incredibly busy, especially during the lunch hour. I typically order online ahead of time so I can just run in, grab our food, and get right back out. If you want perfectly fried seafood in Red Oak, this is hands-down the place to go. Five stars all day!

Ladies and Gentlemen...WE HAVE A WINNER~!!!! 6*****…read more Food - OK, this is what G-d meant fried catfish to be. Moist. Flaky. Well seasoned coating. Crisp outside. Thermonuclear hot from the fryer. Just damn good fried catfish. On the downside...the fried shrimp were a bit on the small side and a bit too greasy out of the fryer...however, the shrimp flavor came through. Pre-fab packets of tartar sauce and ketchup are minor demerits; but, the cocktail sauce is homemade with visible flecks of horseradish. Hidden gem - in the bottom of your container, under the fish and fries, are marinated pickle and carrot slices AND a whole jalapeno. There's a kick here that adds a bit of extra spice to your meal. Warning, the tartar sauce and ketchup may be under your meal container hiding from you as everything is packed "to go", even if you're dining there. Dig deep to make sure you find everything. BONUS - canned sodas only and they're ONLY $1.00 (as of today...your experience may be different) Service - counter service with a pager for when your order is ready. The wait can sometimes be lengthy if the kitchen is slammed with take-out, call-in, delivery service, etc. orders...you really don't know until you get there. Ambiance - you gotta' want it to get it. The location is on the dark side of the fringe of a freeway/bridge construction/reconstruction zone. Once you figure out how to get access, the parking is challenging as there's one in/out and 4 separate storefronts using it...and the construction zone is right there.... All said, be courteous and patient and you'll find a spot. Upside - if you find a parking spot, you'll find a place to sit if you want to dine in. The place is clean, quiet, and has lots of TV's (for the size of the place) to keep you occupied while you wait on the kitchen. I found this place on a random Google maps search and I'm over the moon that I found it and braved the traffic to get inside. The food alone is worth the trip. Stick to what they do best - catfish - filets, strips, or steaks and you'll never be disappointed.
